I haven't heard from Titus in a while.

He must be pinching off a loaf.

  1. Can you find a script for the original Cheech & Chong skit where that comes from? I know it's off Big Bamboo. That's where I heard that first. I had the skit memorized in middle school and the voices (I'll bet Titus did too). I haven't heard it in 35 years and haven't been able to Google it out. It went something like this:

Chong: Oh man, I gotta pinch loaf
    Cheech: pinch a wah?
Chong: I gotta drop a stool
    Cheech: drop a what?
    Chong: I gotta make a doo-doo

[touching] Yup. Feels like dog shit.
    Taste!

    Taste it!
[tasting] Yup. Taste like dog shit.

Man. Good thing we didn't step in it!

[From memory, clouded by never owning the record and only hearing friends of my brother re-enact it innumerable times.]

I'm not sure if I should be impressed or frightened that you can do that.

Let me get back to you on that.

    :-)

  5. Ruth Anne: I found a snippet of your skit! It's called "Chebornick" and you can listen to it here at Amazon.

I didn't have a clue what los cochinos meant in 1973- did you? I didn't really care either- we called it the car album.

Still looking for the "pinch a loaf" skit.

  6. Who'da thunk everyone would be in the Titus thread?

    LOL, you guys.

  7. Hoosier- does your compilation have the "loaf" skit? It's gotta be a "Pedro and the Man" skit, but now I'm not sure if it's on Big Bamboo or Los Chochinos.

  9. I don't recall actually what the album was. That's showing my age because I say album. To this day I still say album.

For those of you born post 1985 that's a vinyal disc that was played on a spinning table.

I just remember it had 'What I did on my Summer Vacation' but the dog crap thing sounds familiar.

  10. Found it: and it has Titus all over it. Loaf pinching start at 2:35.

In retrospect, my favorite line is:
Metamicell, hey bonjer, parley voo ah huma huma?

  11. Darcy--

What? Just because we're worried about Titus doesn't mean we're g--

    Oh, guys!

    Never mind.

    HD--

I don't get why it's not still an "album" or a "record". Neither of those things require vinyl.

  12. "Pinching a loaf" could also mean stealing bread. I wouldn't put that past him if the clumbers were famished.

  14. Although, as Trooper says, he does throw in stuff for the "dolls".

  16. Ruth Anne: You look way too to young to even be here. Where are your parents?

btw, do you prefer Ruth Anne, Ruth, or Adams?

  17. Hey, I meant that as a compliment, of course. :)

  18. chickenlittle: Thanks for asking. I prefer 'Ruth Anne.'

My mom is home in Wisconsin; my dad is home in Heaven.

I assure you I'm old enough. The profile pic of me is from first grade...in 1968.

  19. Thanks for asking. I prefer 'Ruth Anne.'

I asked because I dated someone in Madison named Ruth Anne ____ in college. She went by just Ruth. I also dated a someone in high school from Titus's home town, Waunakee.
Wisconsin can be so small sometimes.

My mom is home in Wisconsin; my dad is home in Heaven.

    same here :)

  20. chickenlittle: To anyone who knew me in college and before, I was "Ruth"; I added my middle name in law school and have been "Ruth Anne" since 1985. It was lucky that I moved South because two names for girls is de rigeur.

Waunakee was in my high school conference. I cheered many a game there. My sister taught school in Baraboo, part of the 'driftless plane.' So glad it's not 'shiftless pain.'

  21. "Ruth" I always thought it was a pretty name. It has a ring of truth too. My wife has a biblical name also.

Waunakee was in my high school conference.

Not mine. I just dated a girl there and went to her prom (I went to my own prom a week later that year with a different girl--what a cad I was :)

I cheered many a game there.

Yeah, I remember my HS cheerleaders- who doesn't? We may have crossed paths once, but you don't look familiar (I went to school with the same kids, K-12).

My sister taught school in Baraboo,..

Went up by there a lot. My dad used to love to take us diving at Devil's Lake (before it got bad)

    part of the 'driftless plane.'

Driftless Area (or "The Hills"). Those are the words those folks use to distinguish themselves from "flatlanders".

  22. Yeah, I remember my HS cheerleaders- who doesn't?

Me. Never went to a game. Was barely aware we had cheerleaders. When I saw one walking around, didn't get the appeal.

Seeing them do cartwheels helped their appeal enormously.

  24. Eh, I guess. I just don't get that. Never have.
