My God those people are revolting in Pennsylvania, especially now that the Steeler's won.

Trader Ralph Callendar: They're real friendly like, the injuns.
Mac' MacDougall: The only friendly Indians are dead Indians, I say.
James 'Jim' Smith: Put that gun down!
Janie MacDougall: I won't! I'm not going to be a widow before I'm even a wife.
James 'Jim' Smith: Hey it's revolting enough that the Steelers won, I don't want them to sic Alexander Hamilton on us.

  1. "The only friendly Indians are dead Indians."

To think, there was a time in America (not so long ago, 'cause I remember it well) when that dialog was not only acceptable but was understood to be an accurate statement of the truth; the truth that for the settlers the Indians were an ever present death threat.

Okay, I'll stop now before I blow a gasket.

  2. Hey when you hear me talking about my admiration for Phil Sherdian you know why. He had two of the best maxims regarding military action that I ever heard. You just have to fill in the name of your enemy.

The best _______ is a dead_____.

    Nits make lice.
