Take the Cake Poll

Ok who is going to take the cake. After much deliberation I have come up with our four finalists.

Cheese cake

Strawberry Shortcake

German Chocolate Cake
Carrot Cake

Let them eat cake I say.

You skinny people can wait for the tofu poll.

  1. Oh, man, oh, man, oh, man...I want them allllllllll.

Carrot cake. Just a tiny smidge.

  2. Are those carrots organic? Or have they been treated with formaldehyde?

  3. I'll vote. But it's under protest.

  4. Strawberry shortcake is sweet-tooth heaven. So if you were all chronological 12 year olds it would win hands down. After that age sweet-toothdom declines, slightly. And since you're all only mentally 12 year olds strawberry shortcake will probably loose out to the slightly smaller sugar jolts delivered by the other 3 cakes.

  5. Actually, if the strawberry shortcake were my grandmother's homemade kind, ricpic...well, there'd be no contest! And no shortcake left. :)

  6. Gotta go with the strawberry shortcake!

  7. I resent that sweeping generalization, ricpic. I'm practically 14. At least I'll be 13 in November so that's pretty close to 14.

Plus, I'm mature for my age. Which might explain why I'm protesting this latest phony illegal election.

  8. Wow! That strawberry shortcake is mammoth!

  9. Notice how tiny that cheesecake photo is, and not even attractive.

  10. Write in vote for Black Forest Cake.

Think I'll go make some chocolate and pecan cookies now.

  11. Not a fair contest. No double entendre intended here: Cheesecake beats all. No regular cake of any sort could possibly be expected to compete with cheescake. If you throw a party and put out some cakes, one of them cheesecake, the cheesecake will be gone first. It could even be some ugly, malformed, "oh sorry the box fell" cheesecake, and it would be gone first.

  12. Carrot cake. I love cheese cake but it doesn't love me, if you know what I mean. And I know you do. So it's me and carrot cake under the Snugglie, watching Law & Order reruns.

  13. Oh! *clinks forks with Jeff over the carrot cake choice*

    Cheers. :)

  14. And Freeman, that is so true. There never is any cheesecake left!
I actually love all of these cakes...hmmm...how did Trooper get in my head?

  15. Carrot or cheese...tough one...Junior's cheesecake, mmm...but I do like me some carrot...Buridian's ass...

    ReplyDelete
  16. would you believe I've never had strawberry shortcake?

  17. I had a piece of what was called Carrot Cheesecake once.

It was a layer of carrot cake, a layer of cream cheese icing, a layer of cheescake, with creamcheese icing, another carrotcake layer, more icing and another layer of cheescake, again with the creamcheese icing.

    Absolute heaven...

Too bad that resurant is gone now; especially since it was also a brewpub!

  18. That was such a cute defense of the little bitty cheesecake, chickenlittle!

  19. Thanks Darcy. I was thinking that the word triggers lots of projection and doesn't even need a decent photo. Freeman is right, it's not fair. But if anybody could convince me to change my vote to carrotcake, that person would be you.

  20. Aww, chickenlittle. Sweet. Too bad we can't compromise and vote on on Edjamikated's cake!

  21. I must protest here.

I've made strawberry shortcake, I've eaten strawberry shortcake, strawberry shortcake was friend of mine, and that, sir, is no strawberry shortcake; that's an ordinary white layer cake with strawberries on it. Not that I'd turn it down. But it is not strawberry shortcake.

Strawberry shortcake requires 1) shortcake, 2) strawberries (fresh, not in a glaze - just macerated in a little sugar), 3) whipped cream.

    This is strawberry shortcake.

  22. Jaed, my thoughts exactly. I prefer vanilla ice cream, tho.

    ReplyDelete
  23. @jaed: I would like a recipe for that--it looks delicious. If Trooper amends his poll to include real strawberry shortcake, I might just switch my vote(s).

  24. Hmmmmm.....first sandwiches, big slobbery, high calorie, yummy sandwiches.

Then.....cakes, big gooey, yummy, squishy, high calorie cakes.

And then......a not so subtle plug for his 'plus size' (means:well fed) dress store.

What next? Ice cream? I can only hope...

(Not that I'd wear a dress, just sayin')

  25. Changing my vote in this phony illegal rigged election to jaed's strawberries with grandma's shortcake and real whipped cream, - nothing whizzy, thank you very much.

  26. Chickenlittle! What about me and my carrot cake? Fickle.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Carrot Cake, FTW! Although, Strawberry Short Cake holds a place in my heart.

  28. If you throw a party and put out some cakes, one of them cheesecake, the cheesecake will be gone first. It could even be some ugly, malformed, "oh sorry the box fell" cheesecake, and it would be gone first.

LOL. I agree with Freeman, and will be voting for cheesecake from my home computer, carrot cake from my mom's computer, and Strawberry Shortcake from my work computer. THIS POLL IS NOT FAIR.

    ReplyDelete
  29. This is the first poll I'm really feeling invested in. I'm passionate about carrot cake. It's not only delicious, but it is slightly good for you.

I'll be enlisting all resources to bring about a win for my cake. Game on.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Oh, crap! Trooper changed the photo of the shortcake. My carrot cake dreams are taking a dive.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I was tempted, but I haven't betrayed you. Forgive me?
I'm still stuck on cheesecake though.

    ReplyDelete
  32. We're good, chickenlittle. ;-)

  33. WIIFM Darce?

Actually I am already voting for carrot (once so far) but would be interested to know just HOW bad you want to win. More votes could be arranged, my support COULD have a price.

    IYKWIM, AITYD ;>

  34. I meant to thank you for that vote, Nichevo! How's that? My gratitude. :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. It's a start, sure, how would you like some more? and how would you thank me? win-win, sweet thing!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I think I just did thank you, Nichevo. And I'm going to win this poll for my cake in a respectable manner, I'll have you know! That's the kind of gal I am.
