A while ago, Sir Archy wrote to me, "The many People who do so, ought not trouble themselves about the Likes of Palladian. Altho' he may fancy himself a General Officer, you may account him," says he, "only an Ensign in the Army of Lunaticks, perpetually encamp'd in the principal Cities of this, and, Alas! every other Age."
I'm sure he meant this lovingly, as Sir Archy thought Palladian might be promoted to Lieutenant. He said that "Palladian perhaps deserves some Preferment; for, few Madmen shew such Spirit & Enterprise as to shout Obscenities at Mrs. Ciccone in the Streets, and to be written about in the Publick Prints for it."
The cow says, moo!
ReplyDeleteI meant that lovingly.
