I get to carry the can

And the coats and the drinks and the pocketbook. Even when we are on Broadway.

Some of us are born to schelp.

    Schelp! I need somebody,
    Schelp, not just anybody,
Schelp, you know I need someone, schelp!

When I was younger, so much younger than today,
I never needed anybody's schelp in any way.
But now these days are gone, I'm not so self
    assured,
Now I find I've changed my mind and opened up the
    doors.

Schelp me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being round.
Schelp me, get my feet back on the ground,
Won't you please, please schelp me?
