    Isn't there an Althousian "men in shorts" parallel here: Adults in Halloween costumes?

    I'd be willing to bet that the whole Halloween for adults tracked the childlessness/late childbearing phenomenon with the echo boomers.

    Around my 'hood we see a lot of immigrant families out with kids. The adults are never dressed up. Maybe it's a monetary thing, but I think there's something else at play.
