  1. I just took a second look: the tragic Sharon Tate.

  3. The prior kudo to ricpic was said w/ a Marv Albert voice.

I was hurting last night, sitting in my motel room in Willcox, AZ. w/ the only thing on being the prez. I walked over to the nearby truck stop diner and saw a transgender trucker[he had tits that Titus would not approve]. The trucker was registering to get a shower @ the desk. He had long very nice hair, from the back he looked just like a "female" 6 foot Russian javelin thrower. Nobody was batting an eye..I surmise he's a regular. To each their own.

There are a large group of old folks in my motel, they play their tv's real loud like my deaf mother would. It wasn't bad @ night because they hit the sack @ sundown. But, I woke up @ 5:30 hearing my neighbors tv. I know they'll be taking over the breakfast room.

    Next stop..Yuma.

  5. ndspinnelli what are you doing in Arizona?

  7. windbag, I only take surveillance pics or video if I'm paid. But, being a PI, I made my living word of mouth. If clients can't trust your word then you're worthless. And, even people who don't like me will tell you if I say something, you can take it to the bank.

EBL, I'm on my annual sojourn to San Diego, I'll be out there until April.

  8. I bet that dress squeezing her boobs that hard must've hurt. Kind of like a mammogram.

It's horrific to even think of those crimes.

Love the new TY, very hot.

  14. I enjoy tits that are squished into a blouse. I like the look. I like the pointy tit look too from the 50's.

But they do look like they may be uncomfortable.

I am perplexed though because I don't care for them being constrained.

I enjoy them in their natural state free from the rigid requirements of a bra.

The world would be a much happier and more relaxed place without bras and shit.

My favorite tits are in a wife beater, no bra, and you can see the pinkish nips, perhaps a tad erect. They seem very content in that state and natural too.

    tits.

  15. LOL, Titus.

You just jogged a memory for me. My sis and I were 16 and 15 and staying with my parents for a week in Disneyworld. We decided one day to go to the theme park in our tank tops - braless. Got on the monorail from our hotel and at the next stop? About 15 sailors jumped in our section of the monorail and squished us in between them.

    *cower, cower, blush, blush, BLUSH*

    We were idiots.

(Hi, RAA! I crack up at the "bits"! ;-) )

    ReplyDelete
  16. Okay, the way I worded that came off naughtier than it really was. It was just embarrassing.

    ReplyDelete
  17. About 15 sailors jumped in our section of the monorail and squished us in between them.

    Where was captain tug?

    ReplyDelete
  18. My captain was probably in the Coast Guard right around then, cl.

And lol. You guys are not going to forget that, are you?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Back in the day, when we were burning our bras, I too experimented with going braless in public, bad idea. It's uncomfortable enough when men you first meet stare at your boobs when being introduced.

Being braless when this happens makes you want to cover your boobs with your hands. Very awkward.

    ReplyDelete
  20. And lol. You guys are not going to forget that, are you?

    Hardly. :)

    ReplyDelete
  21. LOL, Darcy, being in a group of sailors braless, SCARY!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Heh. You get me, Allie. Awkward turtle. :)

    ReplyDelete
  23. Brustenhalter brenner, nein.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Darcy, I envision being able to reel them in like a turtle does his head, LMAO!

  25. @EBL: It looks like men are evolving to be shorter than women--unless her stature is enhanced.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Man, I haven't watched "Valley of the Dolls" in ages. Don't know if that's where this still picture comes from, but that movie instantly jumped to mind upon seeing it.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I really loved that movie, rcommal. Everybody seemed so glamorous in it.
    Pretty sad, though.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I suppose the timing isn't right for the pic to be from "Twin Peaks".

    ReplyDelete
  29. I saw that movie at a drive in.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I think I burned my copy of "Valley of the Dolls". (The book, I didn't watch the movie.)

I figured I was doing a favor for society.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Every "classic" from the '60s I read was either low-brow trash or, uh, I guess you'd call it high-brow trash. Maybe "significant" trash is a better word.

    That whole 1965-1975 period...

    ReplyDelete
  32. Blake, true that was by far the worst movie ever made, or a close second.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Book and movie, complete melodramatic trash, of course. But Sharon was beautiful in it, and Patty Duke was, well, so not the girl next door in Brooklyn Heights (I remember being shocked by that when I first saw the movie, way younger than I should have!)

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hey, I was pretty young! Don't hate me for thinking it glam and fun.

    Sheesh. :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Darcy,

When I read it, I felt like it was a thinly veiled attack, particularly on Judy Garland (of whom I am particularly protective).

I'm not proud: I've read plenty of trash that I like. And I can quote Ed Wood (the actual guy, not just the movie) so de gustibus, you know?

    ReplyDelete
  36. And I never put together that the aging actress was based on Garland. I get why that upset you. You're so cute with your Judy love.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Oh it's fun to be trashy sometimes;)

    ReplyDelete
  38. Oh it's fun to be trashy sometimes;)

Well, I did sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

    I kid. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  39. Darcy, I don't! Potato chips are junk too, and yet I enjoy them in their place.

I thought it was glam, too, when I first watched it...though I really was shocked by the Patty Duke thing as well.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I can't tell you how many times I've been asked how, for someone with such good taste in music, I can spend so much time listening to trash. Well, because I want to! Because I like to! And I can.

My favorite personal story along these lines comes from my teen-age years, when my mom rebuked me for reading People magazine (then a pretty new publication) and forbade me from reading it in front of people she knew.

I finally said, "Fine. As long as you quit mentioning to your friends that I'm reading Dumas and Camus in the French!"

Very snotty and disrespectful of me, it's true--but equally, my point was quite valid and I stand by it to this day.

Even though these days, I no longer read People mag (haven't for years) AND I no longer have the skills to read literature in French.

    So it goes, lol!

    ReplyDelete
  41. You know, with my Judy love and my passion for show tunes, I'm a little hurt Titus hasn't hit on me.

I guess I'm just not fabulous enough.

    ReplyDelete
  42. R,L I don't blame your mother for mentioning that to her friends, that was an extraordinary accomplishment!

I grew up speaking German, but can barely put a sentence together anymore, I need to go live in Germany with my relatives for a year, I bet it would come back.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Oh I'm so glad someone else here loves show tunes! Sixty thinks its trashy, dont'cha Sixty?

I was waiting for a doctor in the examination room and flipped through a People magazine to kill the time (back in the days before texting fills in the empty spaces). The doctor walked in just as I finished and tossed it back into the pile. I looked at him and declared, "You know you're old when you can flip through an entire People magazine and not recognize a single celebrity."

Hey, let's get a pool going for when Trooper and his bride first appear in People, eh?

  45. Blake, I can remember exactly where my family was when the announcement came over the car radio that Judy had died: here. I can even tell you what we ate there before going out to the car, where we heard the news. My whole family was upset; even my dad got misty (which is partly why I remember it so vividly: He was and is old school in the "men don't cry" department).

Huge show tunes family, of course. Remember, I was first in the pit with my parents at 10 days old, because I arrived early and they had both booked themselves to play in the pit orchestra of a musical within weeks of my mom's due date (because they were both in school and had no health insurance: they needed the money).

  47. Charlize is talking about a cutlet.

    Whats a cutlet?

    ReplyDelete
  48. Are you watching "The Chew," Titus?

    ReplyDelete
  49. I hate show tunes and Broadway shit.

    tits.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Cutlet:

    1. A portion of sliced meat breaded and served either grilled or fried.
    2. A flat croquette of minced meat, nuts, or pulses, typically covered in breadcrumbs and fried.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Blake I don't hit on anyone.

I have to be the one being hit on.

    Sorry.

    tits.

    ReplyDelete
  52. R,L so you grew up surrounded with music, I suspect. Are you musical, you're kids? My grandson loves concerts and musicals, even came to see the Nutcracker with us this past Christmas. He's taking guitar lessons now , age 8,doing very well and really is a natural.

    ReplyDelete
  53. no she was speaking about cutlets, like something covering up her tits.

    I enjoy the word cutlet.

    cutlet.
    tits.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I like show tunes too!

I would say that my faves are Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and Brigadoon. But I will watch them all.
    Love Oklahoma!

  56. Allie, both of my parents were professional musicians with advanced degrees, and my dad was a university music professor. Yep, I am one of those: raised in an arty and academic environment.

I married an engineer, though (he's an excellent guitar player, however). My son is musical but he takes it for granted.

I'm thinking of taking piano lessons again. Carpal tunnel and arthritis makes the idea daunting, however.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Yeah, Darcy, R,L, Blake and me! I swing both ways classical and trashy, lol. Who likes bluegrass or blues. Sixty and I got got into a altercation over the Carolina Chocolate Drops once.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I'd have to say that my favorite show tunes are not from Broadway at all. I do enjoy musicals--for example, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I started violin lessons at age 5, piano at 7. I gave them both up by high school, though I continued to sing in choirs until I went off to college. I didn't want to compete in the family business (my brother started out as a music major, though he doesn't play full time, he is a music minister)!!

Now I wish I'd kept some of it up. How trite is that!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Allie: Son takes piano and voice lessons.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I have devoted a half hour per day every morning that I used to waste on the internets practicing banjo.

I start up at 6 AM as a wake up call to the kids.

My goal is to learn some Kingston Trio banjo chords and songs.

    ReplyDelete
  62. R,L carpal tunnel could definitely put a crimp on piano playing, I used to have it back when I was still nursing, it has almost completely dissapeared now. I can relate to the arthritis too, my joints are not as they were 30 years ago, alas.

You sound like you had a wonderful childhood surrounded by music and academia, wonderful!

    ReplyDelete
  63. I wonder if my grandson should take piano lessons too, but I fear that kids nowadays are sometimes pushed beyond what is healthy, too many activities, sports, etc. Sometimes they don't have enough time to just be kids.

My daughter has been very selective as to what she gets the kids involved in, only activities they really love. It's sad to see a kid begging and crying when the parents are forcing them to attend too many extracurricular activities.

This is so common in the area in which I live.

  64. Carolina Chocolate Drops Snowden's Jig They won a Grammy for this. Sorry Sixty,I know you hate this group.

  66. @Darcy--Internet comment volleyball!

    Bump, set, spike.

    ReplyDelete
  67. And I love volleyball! Hee. :)

    ReplyDelete
  68. Me too, Darcy! It was my favorite sport in K-12.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Women's beach volleyball in particular.

    ReplyDelete
  70. chicklittle. For your viewing pleasure and inspiration. Bela is unbelievable in this clip. Yes, that's a fat guy jamming out on a bassoon at the start. Not many of those birds around.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Well, jeez, Titus, I'm sure not gonna hit on YOU.

    So, we're at an impasse.

    C'est la vie.

    ReplyDelete
  72. @windbag: Thanks!
See, that's right we're American music should be going: another fusion of its original roots and instruments.

I want to be part of that subterfugue!

  74. I recently had an extended talk about the American musical with my eye doctor who said, 'I'm probably the only straight guy who loves musicals.' And then we talked about Music Man, Annie, Flower Drum Song, Little Mary Sunshine and others.

My dad used to belong to some penny-for-a-dozen album club and he bought original Broadway cast albums and played them on Sunday mornings after Mass when he was cooking breakfast for Mom.

    I miss him.

  75. Titus, I gave a brief review of the flick, Young Adults, starring Charlize a week or two ago. There's a love scene where she fucks a pudgy gimp played well by Patton Oswalt. Charlize takes off her blouse and is wearing "cuplets". They looks large pasties[have you ever been to a titty bar Titus, back in the 70's strippers wore pasties that covered just the nips].. a "cuplet"[you need to get the shit or semen out of your ears dude] covers up a bit more than the nips. I didn't see the interview but presumably that is the reference about which you speak.

Take notes Titus..I'm not covering this again and there will be a pop quiz.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Titus..mea culpa mea culpa. I just googled it and they are not called cuplet bras, they are indeed called "cutlet bras." What is my penance for casting aspersions @ your listening skills. I admit when I'm wrong and accept consequences.

  77. ChipS, There are some serious women volleyhball players on Mission Beach in San Diego. I reached paradise 4 hours ago and saw some games as I walked the beach.

Bill Walton grew up in San Diego and preferred beach volleyball to b-ball. But, he also preferred $ to poverty so wisely pursued b-ball.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Wow who knew a gay man and a PI could teach this old broad about bras? Never heard of such a contraption. Live and learn.

    ReplyDelete
  79. OK, just googled them, no wonder I never heard of them, I have no need for "chicken cutlets".

    ReplyDelete
  80. Cutlets: veal, revealed, or concealed.

Flesh out the concept a bit more. Put some meat on it, please.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Not much beach volleyball going on in Michigan. Not saying it doesn't happen, though. :) But we do play "wallyball" on racquetball courts. Now that is really fun.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Allie, what's the difference between a veal cutlet and veal schnitzel?

    ReplyDelete
  83. One is from a German calf and one is from an English calf. I make wunderbar Weinerschnitzel..
