Rave On John Donne
When we are subjected to the inarticulate ravings of a lunatic in every thread I thought it best that we listen to John Donne raving on and on and on...........
I was going to write about how much I have enjoyed Van the man over the last 50 years, but figured the racist would show up and try to bait us.
No Gurus etc. was one of the songs I was going to mention.
There are many more - I am trying to recall a new one that popped up on my Pandora the other day - recorded just a few years ago - Ivan still has it goin' on, just sayin'...
I know Sixty. People that only know him from Brown Eyed Girl are really missing out.
Lisa and I have long argued about Van the Man. I always put it on the Ipod when I am in the store alone. She shuts if off and tells me it is old man music.
Hey, that stuff was for sale, he bought it, his architect put it together nicely for him, what's the prob?
I liked the fact that he owned everything you could see from the top of the hill, except the ocean, and that was only because he couldn't find anyone to sell it to him.
"Am I not an old man?" sighed the young squirt Sixty As all the Seventies laughed then coughed then wheezed: "You're only old when you're past all caring; Now mount up and make the best bowl ever!"
I can't drink any less. Trying to help the industry after you dried out. We're all in this together.
Van Morrison. I have about 4900 tracks on iTunes; more than 300 of them are Van Morrison. He is by far my favorite singer/philosopher/composer/artist. By far.
It's challenging to pick out one favorite song, for me, at least, but I do have a favorite album. Its the double live album, One Night In San Francisco.
I poured three new spills today: red and white wine and a creamy Baileys.

As for Van - can't understand a word he's saying (singing?).
Check out "Irish Heatbeat" with the Chieftains. You can understand it and it is full of great traditional style Irish songs.

When Irish 'take the cure', they swear to give up Jameson and merely drink Guinness so as to remain sober. As sober as an Irish man.
