Speaking of color and earthquakes, here are some amazing color, 3-D photos of the aftermath of the 1906 San Francisco quake. Yes, folks, they had color in 1906, although the featured method isn't the elegant and painterly Autochrome process. And, unlike Wisconsin protest pix, it didn't feature *vomit light* as the principal color of its palette.

Meade, trust me, I was not suggesting that either you or our gracious host be the, er, poor b*st*rd, or lucky SOB, tasked with completing the pin stripes. I have to recuse myself for several reasons, at least one of which is an intense dislike of Y*nkees.
But that is certainly more appealing than most painting jobs one encounters.
Why is Meade getting so defensive he has to resort to an adolescent insult? I wasn't particularly thinking about him. Both Meade and his wife's blog have fallen completely beneath my notice lately. Could it be he's imbibed the local narcissism, and thinks there's a vortex revolving around him, too? Or perhaps he regards himself as the Michael Yon of Madison, imagining there are no other news photographers around the obscure events he covers?
I also can't help if outdoor protesters in Wisconsin and their surroundings aren't very photogenic. News photos were much better indoors, with the color, dramatic lighting and texture of the interior of the capitol building.
Outdoors, everyone looks like lumpy schlubs in a cold climate, which of course they are. Most of the northern part of the US isn't very pretty this time of year. The current Mud Season here isn't too attractive, either.
Meade also seems to be channeling Palladian, which is, of course, his prerogative, but something two can play at as well. Having, however, some personal standards, I don't think it's my place to presume to do so on Trooper's blog. It's not fair to put Trooper in the position of having to mediate a flame war, or at least a mud-slinging, or perhaps an excrement-slinging one, a greater supply of that to be had from Madison these days than our plain, New England mud
I think THAT's the reason it looks like there's been a rainfall of thinned Kaopectate in Madison: Just Nature's reaction to recent events.
You'll notice I'm saying nothing about Global Warming, hot air being another Madisonian byproduct, the cure for which remains elusive to those who supply the greatest part, if not to the rest of us.
Ah, I recall a variant of the horse's ass insult as the first Palladian hurled at me on a certain eponymous website.
But that was long ago. I have, if not forgotten, at least gone forward, as recommended, and would remind MamaM that the horse's hindquarters provide most of the muscular power of propulsion, as well as impetus to sharp hooves used to kick annoying and bothersome creatures.
