This is the Zen approach: nothing is there to be done. There is nothing to do. One has just to be. Have a rest and be ordinary and be natural.
Sit and contemplate the empty peanut butter jar. Eat and rest. Do not toil overmuch.
For in the end we all end up the same.
Worm food.
I think I just farted.
I am thinking of starting a new series with a new batch of quotes from Titus.
ReplyDeleteStrangely enough it is called the "The Tao of Poop."
Tituscious say, China festering dengheap until they overlearn western ways.
ReplyDeleteIs that Poodha in the photo?
ReplyDeleteAs far as the Zen sophistry quote? Margaret Thatcher had something to say about that:
ReplyDeleteIt used to be about trying to do something. Now it's about trying to be someone.
This sounds like the DMV employee anthem.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to stick my head in the peanut butter jar and eat chocolate till I puke or pass out.
ReplyDeleteToo much contemplation
ReplyDeleteEnd in despair,
Get up off duff, take walk
In fresh air.
Take walk in fresh air,
When fed up with that,
Turn round and go home,
Sit back down on mat.
When house start get dark
Go straight up to bed,
Let sleep wipe all out,
Get up fresh, nuff said.

ReplyDeleteIn case there's anyone who hasn't already heard this:
ReplyDeleteTo be is to do.
--Socrates
To do is to be.
--Sartre
Do be do be do.

De Do Do Do De Da Da Da. The Police.
ReplyDeleteWe're not going to get into the Poo of Tao are we?
ReplyDeleteBefore beginning a Hunt, it is wise to ask someone what you are looking for before you begin looking for it.

Well, thermodynamics isn't everything. That's why the Donners were goners. They had visions of California in their heads before they set off--they knew where they were going, but they took the path of most resistance...they chose the highest hump route rather than the Santa Fe or Oregon Trails.
The Entropy of Phoo?
ReplyDeleteUnclear as to what the two pink things trailing behind the severed head might be--pulled muscles?
ReplyDeleteThey look like tiny denuded legs.
Oops...wrong post.
ReplyDeleteWill leave it here but copy it to the severed head post.
Our faithful UPS man delivered "A Stranger's Gift" today. True Stories of Faith in Unexpected Places is the claim made on the cover by Tom Hallman. We'll see. He's reported to be a good story teller
ReplyDeleteI like the quote in the first chapter: Faith is looking in the mirror in the morning and wondering why. It's about doubt and hope, catching a glimpse of a beacon piercing the fog of life and walking toward it, never knowing if you're headed in the right direction but pressing onward nevertheless. Even in a crowded church with people sitting so close that their arms touch, not one of them feels, contemplates, or uses faith in the same way.
Same is true for shows that turn out different than hoped or expected and semi-crowded blogs where comments touch off bursts of electronic connections.
