I have been doing a BLT salad. Romaine lettuce hand torn up, with thin slices of roma tomatoes, sweet onion, schreaded fennel, basil, and bacon. Lots of bacon. All crispy and chopped.
Iceberg is good if you are doing a salad that has to hold up with a heavy dressing (say if you are having a party and you can't really make it right before the guests eat). It does not get soggy right away. Romaine is good for that too, it holds its crisp, but not as good as iceberg. I prefer Romaine because at least it has some flavor, iceberg is almost flavorless.
How prescient of me!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back. The place was quiet. Nobody even drank.
Don't worry. Lisa and I took care of that for you. I got you covered.
ReplyDeleteI get the distinct feeling that everyone is sort of waiting for shoes to drop -- a whole bunch of shoes of every sort.
ReplyDeleteMickey Mantle and David Crosby got put to the head of the line on the liver transplant list. You are SOL.
ReplyDeleteMickey put his to such good use, too.
ReplyDeleteLarry Hagman, too!

ReplyDeleteI use a lemon/olive oil dressing.
