  2. Hard to shake off a reputation, Cody.

As Sam Spade said to Brigid O'Shaughnessy, "You're takin' the fall."

  3. Wow, Cano to Seattle.

If you'd told me that one of the pair Cano and Ellsbury would be signed by Seattle and the other by the NYY, I'd have been pretty sure that it would've been the opposite of this outcome.

  4. Same here. Ten years. It's insanity.

  5. I think this means that the NYY are going all in on Tanaka.

Pretty sure they won't be able to swing a trade w/Tampa for Price.

  6. Is Tanaka even going to be available?

And I don't know who they'd trade for Price. The farm system's been so mismanaged there's about no one there worth anything.

    1. Not sure what's gonna happen, esp w/ the cap on posting offers (if I understand that right).

But he seems like the real deal.

  7. Between the inside baseball and, y'know, the inside baseball, I have no idea what you guys are on about any more.

  8. We could always talk about baseball movies.

  9. Bull Durham is the only baseball movie. The others are mere pretenders.

  10. Last baseball movie I saw was The Bad News Bears. The real version.

That's kind of where this started, isn't it, Evi?

  11. Meade said...
    "Crack is a crippled weakling…blah, blah…"

Truth is, if Jesus gay married Ronald Reagan, General Patton, and Lenny Bruce… and they had a baby…
    that baby would be Crack.

Throw a dog into the mix and Meade would have been so into that orgy.

  12. Now I'm even more depressed.

Crackers, owner and chief cunt at The Pussy Response blog has a new(ish) post where he full on goes after Mr. Haz, because Mr. Haz is a racist idiot. Then he goes after Shouting Tommy...and Sixty.

But not me. I guess I don't get anymore of that sweet sweet bitter chocolate love.

What do you think, now, Evi? Has Crackers finally gone too far by going after Mr. Haz? I know y'all hold him in high regard and affection (rightly so).

Sigh. Crackers has gone screamingly fast past petulant, all the way to "holy fucking balls out batshit crazy".

  13. One day at the coffee shop some street guy came inside to panhandle. When I told him he was being rude he went into a rant about how I hated him cuz he was black. I laughed and said "if that helps you get thru the day then go ahead and believe it. I don't give a fuck what you think."

I also don't give a fuck about "Titus" or his secret identity or his turds. People w/o amusement or educational value are wastes of bandwidth.

The Internet is like the streets of a large city. Anonymity lets people get in touch w/ their inner lunatic, but you don't have to pay attention.

Except for edutcher, who is like a stray dog.

  14. That made me laugh.

But I like dogs, and would tend to a stray one. Special Ed is on his own.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I'd hope you wouldn't treat a stray dog the way you treat Eddie the Utch.

    ReplyDelete
  16. As I say, I like dogs.

Ed is on his own. His "blonde" can take care of him.

    ReplyDelete
  17. What are you talking about, Sixty?

I was commenting to Chip. You just happened to get in a second before I did.

Fuck the Utch, his blonde and his hideous crush on Annie and now Evi.

  18. Hey, I'm usually very nice to Special Ed (thx for that name, Sixty). For every bash there are about 99 cases of intense restraint.

  19. This discussion gives me a good opportunity to get schmaltzy for a sec while we wait to hear how Troop is doing.

This joint is the best place on the net for finding amusement and a bit of learnin' about stuff (like how those wooden bowls I admire in shops got to be something more useful and beautiful than a dead tree limb) or MamaM's insights into human nature.

So thx to TY for this gated community.

  20. Yes, thanks to TY and all of you. I just can't tell you enough how much I enjoy reading this blog. It's the funniest, wittiest, and most humane place on the Internet.

  21. That bit of schmaltz was a fun find and easily digested. Timely too, and appreciated. This is a most unusual place, populated by a collection of wholehearted people who know how to laugh, care, think and feel. I too am thankful it exists and appreciate the boundaries that allow it to flourish.
