Here is something for Michael H and Allen S.

Hey before you kick the bucket....

You might want to hit that.....at least it is on AllenS bucket list.

Michael H wanted a thread for people to relist their bucket lists so here it is.

My bucket list:

Getting to the Superbowl, World Series and NBA championship with my teams winning in the same year.
Going to every baseball stadium in one year and having a hot dog and beer in every one.
Spending month in Italy in my grandmothers old village.
A pub crawl of Ireland for a month.
Visiting some great sites of Western history like the OK Corral and Deadwood.
Going on the view and telling those bitches that they are worthless cunts.
Getting a yacht and sailing up and down the coast with my buddies like John Ford used to do.
Writing a novel or three.
Directing a movie.

And that's just a start.

How about youse guys.

Hail hail the gangs all here!

Back in the eighties I used to hang out in this pub called the Quiet Man on 45th St. It was my home away from home. I went there every day for lunch and after work for a few pops before I went home. I might not go both times but I was there at least once a day. It is a lot like how Mat Scudder talks about Armstrongs in the Lawrence Block novels. It was sort of my office and people knew they could find me there or leave a message for me.

I was close friends with a lot of the people who worked there. Well close bar friends. We would go out for drinks after they closed. I would meet up with them in Queens where they lived in Sunnyside or they would come out to Brooklyn. We would go to Atlantic City or the track. A bunch of bartenders and busboys and cute Irish waitresses.

But one week I was busy and for one reason or another I didn't make it to the bar. I was working a lot and I was really tired most of the time so I went straight home. I didn't have time for lunch and called for take out. So you know what happened? They sent out a search party.

A couple of the waitresses came to my office and asked for me. When I went to the reception office they asked me if anybody had pissed me off or if something was wrong. I just told them I was busy but I would be back soon. That Friday I went down for a couple of pops and couldn't pay for a drink. It was a nice feeling that I not only had a place where everybody knew my name but they would miss me if wasn't around.

Or least they would miss my tips.

Anyway I hope I can make this joint be a place like that. Just sayn'

There's something about Mary.

AllenS was kind enough to link to a photo of his horse. How cool is that to own your own horse?

I would love to own a horse. I could just imagine riding down Court St and riding down people who got in my way like a Cossack or something. That would be way cool.

I love that people who have a life very different from mine are kind enough to comment here. I love to find out how about people live. It is very interesting to me.

Holy Angel!

AllenS said...
Good morning, boys and girls. Would you like AllenS to tell you a nice Christmas story? Great, I knew you would.

When four of Santa's elves got sick, the trainee elves did not produce toys as fast as the regular ones, and Santa began to feel the pre-Christmas pressure.
Then Mrs. Claus told Santa her Mother was coming to visit, which stressed Santa even more.
When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two others had jumped the fence and were out, who knows where.
Then when he began to load the sleigh, one of the floorboards cracked, the toy bag fell to the ground and all the toys were scattered.

Frustrated, Santa went in the house for a cup of apple cider and a shot of rum. When he went to the cupboard, he discovered the elves had consumed all the cider and hidden the liquor. In his frustration, he accidentally dropped the cider jug, and it broke into hundreds of little glass pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to get the broom and found the mice had eaten all the straw off the end of the broom.

Just then the doorbell rang, and an irritated Santa marched to the door, yanked it open, and there stood a little angel with a great big Christmas tree.

The angel said very cheerfully, 'Merry Christmas, Santa. Isn't this a lovely day? I have a beautiful tree for you. Where would you like me to stick it?'

And so began the tradition of the little angel sitting on top of the Christmas tree.

Not a lot of people know this.

Did you ever get the feeling?

That if Chuck Norris tells you to buy an excercise machine that you better just buy it?

They once made a Chuck Norris toilet paper, but it wouldn't take shit from anybody.

Ugh. He said.

Speaking of blog feuds. I think I must of done something to AllenS because he keeps dogging me over at that other place. I am pretty sure he is pissed that I defended Ritmo when everybody was piling on and he wasn't around to defend himself. I mean he despises Ritmo and can't understand how anyone could defend him. But I would do that for pretty much anybody who got attacked that way.

Well, except for Bissage.

Hee.
