It's time for new beginings!

So on Friday I didn't post much because I went to my old office. I cleaned out all of my old files and personal memorabilia and called the car service guy to pick me up so I could take everything home. After 37 years as an accountant I am officially retired.

I fit everything into four of those cardboard file boxes. It was interesting how your whole life can fit in a couple of boxes. For about twenty years I was all about going to the game. I had a bulletin board in my office and I would tack every ticket to every game I went to on the board. There were Yankee and Giant and Knick tickets. Tickets to opening day and many World Series games. Tickets to a bunch of world championship boxing matches with Ali, Tyson, Holyfield, Joe Fraizer, Larry Holmes, Sweet Pea Witaker, and a whole bunch more. NBA finales tickets. Just a whole lot of memories. But when you took them down they didn't ever fill on quarter of one box.

You see those things were in the past. They were fun sometimes a lot of fun. But what is past is past. It is a new day. I have a lot of new fun and exciting things that I will be able to talk about soon. I love to reminisce about the old days but it is a new day. An exciting day. A new Year.

I am putting those old memories in the cellar and not worrying about them anymore.

When you close a door another one opens. Walk through that door with me. It is going to be a fun ride.

The only thing worse than April 14th is April 15th...I mean April 18th...whatever!

Sorry I have not been posting as I have only had time to drop in comments in between running returns. I hope this is my last tax season so I am finishing off what I can so I don't leave the clients who I have worked for the last thirty years in the lurch.

When you drop a client it always ends badly. It is like a rejection, almost like a break up. I am using the "It's not you..it's me" approach but it is not really working out all that well.

I can't wait for it to be over.

Lent sucks man.

To top it all off I had a rotten day today. I went to a client in the city but when I got there nobody was in the office. So I had to wait outside for an hour wondering if somebody would come in.

Now in the old days I would just adjurn to the bar for a burger and a couple of beers. But now I am living on the straight and narrow and can't do that kind of stuff anymore. Plus it's a Friday in Lent and there is no meat.

I could really go for a burger right now.

I have been too busy to fart

I have been so busy I don't know what to do. I am cleaning up the last tax returns I am doing before I retire to devote full time to the store. But the new rules about electronic filing are killing me. I hate this shit.

American Idol Recap (One day late..sorry I was busy)

So if you are tired of the piles of shit you get on other blogs you have to come here for your American Idol recap. This week they sing songs from their idols. Yeeesh.

First up we had chubby Georgia blonde teenage flirt girl who sings Shania Twain and stomps around the stage in cowboy boots and shouts and stuff. She gets a mixed but basically positive review and apologizes to Steven Tyler for her poor song choice and that she is still too young to suck his dick.

Next up is the white kid who tries to sing like a black dude. He picks Joe Cocker so he becomes a white dude singing like an English white dude who sounds like a black dude. Got that? There will be a test later. He did ok but he shouted a lot and he didn’t show much range but he is safe for this week.

Then we had the faux Diana Ross chick, who totally blew it. I mean she sang an obscure Diane Ross song when she should have gone full ass singing in Central Park Wolf Pack wilding style song like Evergreen or Endless Love or some shit like that. She sucked and she is most likely out. (I am posting this after the result show and she was the one who was out)

Oh did I mention that big time producers like Jimmy Iovine and Don Was are working with these kids? I think that is going to have a good effect on them.

Screaming tourettes Rocker dude did a great version of a Beatles Song: Maybe I Amazed. Maybe I amazed that he is that good but he might be in the finals. He has a great range and can really hit the high notes. He will be getting massive props from Steven Tyler so he might get a bounce from the judging.

Big chocolate Pudding Luther Vandross guy sang a gospel like “I think I can Fly.” Somehow I don’ think it is a good idea to sing songs by a child molester. But what do I know. He over emotes and I think they are praising him too much. He is going to be a crowd favorite who will lose.

Then there was the phony Rod Stewart dude who pranced around like he had a weasel in his pants. I mean he sang a Ryan Adams song and danced like he was John Adams or something. He should stick with the California ballads like the Eagles or some shit like that.

They have this tiny Philipina chick who sang “Smile” and who had no idea who Charlie Chaplin was. Not that she should know but if he was alive today she would be too old for him because he liked the twelve year olds. If you don’t believe me you can look it up. She was ok but got that deer in the headlights look at judging time so she is not long for the stage.

This blond chick did some Lee Ann Rhimes and sucked big time. She is very forgettable and will be out in the next couple of weeks. (She made the bottom three)

Then there were the two girls from the “Fame School.” The weird name chick did a Celine Dion song without the camel toe which is pretty hard because you need a tight fit on your vulva to hit those high notes. I think. The Spanish chick butchered a Selena song and looks weird when the judges said she screwed up. Something’s not right with her. (She also made the bottom three)

The Italian elf guy sang well but he has Jennifer Lopez in his corner so he has a little advantage. She praises him to the sky and that might influence some of the voters. He is likeable and an underdog so he might do well and last a long time.

Pumpkin headed Randy Travis deep voice shitkicker guy did a Garth Brooks song and knocked it out of the park. They are praising him now but soon they are gonna want him to get out of his comfort zone. I can’t wait till Disco night. That’s gonna be fun.

Finally we have the vaguely Muslim dread lock girl with the vampire teeth. She danced around like a maniac and they had lightning bolts and special effects so they want to keep her around for a while. When you get the pimp spot and special effects they are loading the dice.

So I think Diana Ross girl is out. (She was. Sorry I didn’t post before the results show).

I can't get a handle on my time management

I have been so busy that I do not have as much time to post as I would like. So I am sorry and will try to do better.

The corporate tax return deadline is March 15th and I am way behind. So I need a little breathing room but I will get to the finish line soon enough.

W-2's wait for no man.

Payroll taxes suck. And with the new 1099 rules for 2012.....well I am just glad I am retiring from accounting in a few weeks.

Hey I was busy!

I mean I know I have been neglecting my blogging. Everybody's complaining.

Laura Bush is pissed because I haven't posted several of her diary entries. I mean she had a great one about the separate vacation she took that she sent me when Michelle went off to Spain that time without the Big O. Of course Laura had Gorilla Monsoon and Joey Heatherton and Meyer Lansky all involved in her jaunt so that was another story.

The Devil is giving me a hard time that he still needs a PA announcer and I ain't doing interviews. I told him to wait for Hitchens cause he should be there soon but he is still bitching.

And Angie Dickinson, Stella Stevens, Julie Newmar and Barbara Eden all want to know why I ain't posting pictures of their salad days. They used to say that the Gods got their powers from the amount of people who worshipped them. They feel the same but they keep talking about some dude name Onan and I just don't get it. I will have to have Blake explain that one to me. He knows that position.

Anyhoo it's not like I was at the beach or anything. WTF.

I was so busy over the weekend I couln'd put anything up. This week shapes up just as bad.

Don't look now!

"Hey I am real busy doing taxes. So I don't have time to talk to you right now. So sit down over there and cross your legs. That's what you do when you wear a miniskirt. I will be with you in a minute."

I'm buried man.

I am buried under a pile of horse shit. Which is what taxes have come down to these days. Sorry for the light posting. I will try to do better later in the week.

Today's gratuitous bath tub scene says "I am so tired of doing taxes I just need a fucking drink!"

It's the truth. Man I am sick of this tax stuff. And it is only going to get worse. We had a great weekend for on-line sales at the store and I was there till midnight putting stuff together for UPS. I have enough of this accounting shit.

I need to brew me up some poteen and have a snort for crying out loud!

You got to keep slugging man!

Whew, what a busy week. All I did was knock out tax returns most of the week. But I took one day to go to the city and buy clothes for the fall with the wife. You see before spring even begins you have to buy the fall stuff. So you have to make a lot of decisions.

After we picked out a ton of clothes we went to this fabric joint called "Mood" to see if we could find any cool prints for dresses and tops and the new skirts we are making. It is the same joint that Project Runway uses. And let me tell you I was not impressed. It was a shit hole. The place in California (pictured above) we went to last year was a lot better. So I don't know how it is going to work out.

Anyway I had to stay in the store on Saturday instead of going in to do taxes so I am even more behind.

I hate tax season.

Thursday, March 25, 2010

Hey I said I was busy, but not in a good way!

Man I have been knocking out the tax returns.

So I didn't have time to post a lot. But instead.....here's some knockers.

Knock yourself out.

I don't know if I can climb out of this mess!

I am still trying to climb out of the mound of papers and tax returns that I am buried under.

Hope to post more soon.

At the very least some American Idol stuff.

Today's gratuitous bathtub photo says "It's tax season and you have to keep working"

It is just too damn busy between the store and accounting so that I have to multitask. So to speak.
