Defund Cop Shows

The hysteria over Black Lives Matter has become almost as bad as the one with the Satanic Child Molesters. Remember that one. This is on a pace to be twice as bad.

The TV show Cops has been cancelled after thirty years. The hard core cop haters have demanded that the Networks cancel all the cop shows on TV. Or streaming. Which is fine by me. They don't have anything that can hold a candle to Adam 12. Or Dragnet. They can cancel all of them and I wouldn't give a shit.

Here is a list of the Top Ten Worst Cop shows on TV. Only because there are no good shows. Listed in order of suckitude..

10 NCIS

This show is as old as my fucking socks and my socks are old as fuck. It was a spin off from JAG the Army Lawyer show based on Lindsey Graham getting raped in the Army. Starring Mark Harmon and this Pauley Person who quit or got fired after twenty years when his dogs kept trying to eat her on the way to craft services. I watched the first couple of seasons but I lost interest. Still it is on somewhere 24 hours a day.

9  Vera

This is an English show that my mother in law is obsessed with. It stars an old bag who solves crimes like Sherlock Holmes. It is actually a Holmes rip off as most English shows are. Either Holmes or Agatha Christie. Super smart detective with youngsters who run around and get all the details done. Of course they don't show the realities of England. No bitter packies or radical Muslims. No politically correct assholes who protest enforcing the laws. Good if you have trouble sleeping.

8. 911

Sort of a hybrid show it combines the fire department and the cops and the 911 operators in various shenanigans. The really disturbing part is the main couple which they of course have to make interracial who fall in love because the black husband of Angela Basset turns out to be gay. As politically correct as you might suspect. I had hopes of some entertainment when I heard Jennifer Love Hewitt was in it but she doesn't show her tits. The fire captain who used to be on the funeral parlor show on HBO had more chemistry with the corpses. Give it a Pasadena.

7.   Law and Order STD and all the Law and order bullshit shows.

This piece of shit show is part of the Dick Wolf franchise and has been on for fifty years. Starring Jayne Mansfield daughter and a bunch of rotating morons. Every episode is torn from the headlines. As long as the villain is Catholic priest or a businessman or some other white guy. Total liberal pap and unwatchable except by the morons with the brain cells of an amoeba who eat this shit up.

6. FBI Most Wanted

Another Dick Wolf show which stars the douche guy who was in Nip and Tuck and played Dr Doom. He leads a group of misfit toys who go after the criminal of the week who is always a white supremacist and never a Muslim terrorist or a gang banger. It is pretty stupid. They never show them wiretapping the campaigns of Republicans which is the first duty of the FBI. With an Indian sharpshooter who is much more believable as the veterinarian in Heartland. Give it a miss.

5. LA Finest

A buddy cop show with two hot chicks. Jessica Alba and her tits and some black girl. They run around beating up suspects and throwing around 300 guys because they are those special ninja chicks that can be superstar fighters and never break a nail. I don't know how they can stay on TV the way they beat up suspects. On its way to cancellation by virtue signaller.

4. FBI

The original FBI show by Dick Wolf it stars a Muslim FBI agent who arrests white guys who cause all the crimes and are the only terrorists in the United States. Also an Irish broad who got knocked up so she had to take a leave of absence from the show. Watch this show so you can learn how white supremacists are behind all the crime and terrorism and all Muslims are innocent and in danger of being killed by the KKK who control the world. A big big crock of shit.

3. Blue Bloods

This is the show they always point to as a "conservative show" as it shows an Irish Catholic family with Tom Selleck as the police commissioner and a boy band reject as his loose cannon detective and some Irish model who was Tom Brady's baby mamma as a lawyer. It is another white person criminal of the week show and it is really a disgrace on how it perverts Catholicism and the culture of the other boroughs. It infuriates me as I know these people and they are nothing like what they show on TV.

2. Chicago PD

Just about the worst cop show on TV. The cops act like criminals and tune up suspects every week when they are not killing them. Another Dick Wolf show they show what Hollywood thinks of cops. They are criminals and murderers. I don't see how this show can come back to TV. It is not doing anybody any good. Once again white supremacists are normally the criminals. This show is a cancer.

1. The Rookie

Believe it or not it is the best cop show on TV. It is a lot like Adam 12/ It is based in LA and has the crime of the week. Some convoluted plots but still the relationships ring true. They have a gay cop and they don't make a big thing about it. They have blacks and whites working together without all the angst you get in other cop shows. It is mindless entertainment. Best of all even the toughest cop is a straight shooter who doesn't tune up the suspects. It is just about the only cop show on TV today that I can sort of recommend.

I have switched my night time viewing to Youtube!

I have switched my night time viewing when I am in bed from Netflicks to Youtube. It seems that various knuckleheads post entire episodes of my favorite old time TV shows on Youtube. Usually it is a foreigner so there might be subtitles in Spanish or German or something but that is fine. I got a new pair of Blue tooth wireless headphones so I just put the ipad on the dresser and put the ear plugs in and listen away until I fall asleep.

There are a lot of great shows available. The Munsters. Car 54. Bewitched. Gunsmoke. Bonanza. And the one I have been watching from the beginning of the series. "The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp." It is perfect for me. Just enough to keep my interest but slow enough that I can just nod  out and fall asleep. Highly recommended.

Why are they killing everyone off on TV these days?

There is a new trend on TV these days. Killing off characters. It happens all the time. I guess it is a way to get some bang for your buck and gets rid of actors who are a pain in the ass. So if you want a raise they just write you out and kill you off. It has happened before but it seems to happen all the time now.

It can be shocking when it happens. When they killed off Detective Carter on "Person of Interest" I have to say I was pretty surprised. She was an integral part of the show. The third most important character. The actress went on to star in the new hit music series "Empire" so she doesn't care. She even came back for one episode in a dream sequence so I guess it was an amicable parting.

Then they killed off Matthew in Downton Abbey because he wanted a big raise. So a convenient car crash was set up and that was the end of that. They didn't part on good terms so I really doubt we will see him again on the show. It was a bit of a shock at the time though.

They did it again with Nadia on Chicago PD. She was not a series regular but she was in a bunch of episodes and was a pretty popular character. She was an ex-prostitute and drug addict that one of the detectives took under her wing and mentored her to the point she was going to apply to be a cop. To see her kidnapped, tortured and murdered by a serial killer was a little jarring.

But that is the new trend on TV. Kill off characters in the most baroque way possible.

Is that Art imitating Life again?

Life imitates Art.....all the time

Some people love to knock episodic TV. Of course some people are just idiots. The world of the "Wire" which was set in Baltimore is now all over our TV screens. The show illustrates the corruption of the power structure in Baltimore. Where the city councilmen and poverty pimps mouth the words but steal with both hands. Where the cops are shoveling shit against the tide and the journalists are lying and making shit up. Where the schools fail and the thug life and the corner boys claim whole generations. Where there is no hope left. We have seen it all on the Wire so what is happening now in Baltimore is really just a repeat.

They just finished a big three part story arc on Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Law and Order SVU. Now normally I don't follow Law and Order because it is so politically correct. But I followed this storyline and it was interesting.

There was the serial killer. Well there is always a serial killer these days. He was white. Of course. A doctor. He rapes and kills women and burns them up to get rid of the evidence. Normally I don't watch this stuff but we always watch Chicago Fire since Lisa's Dad was a fireman and we like to see the stories and marvel about what her father did without any of that fancy equipment. You see back in the day the only equipment they had was beer. They used to say give me five drunken fireman and I could put out any fire you got! So we followed the story all the way across the shows.

Now Chicago PD is a strange show. The star or Hero I guess is Sergeant Voight who we met on Chicago Fire when he was attacking one of the fireman who testified against his son who was a drunk driver. Voight got him out of a lot of jams but the Fire Lieutenant wouldn't let up and even got Voight arrested and stuff. Somehow he got out of the scrape and was put in charge of the Intelligence Unit.

With all of the publicity about police brutality it is pretty funny how this show works. These guys tune up every suspect each week and have a secret location to torture them to get information. Sound familiar? There is a big scandal in Chicago about just the same thing. But it is an accepted part of every episode. Are they going to have an episode where they all get suspended or fired for beating on a suspect? Will they snap some perp's spine or choke out a fat fuck?

That would be life imitating art. Hee.

So I think I found a new one

We finished with our customers from San Fransisco about 9:30 pm so we were exhausted. I made a quick cold dinner of roast pork and fresh mozzarella with a light salad. We sat down to veg out in front of the TV but we had a dilemma. We had seen all of the stuff that we had put on the DVR and were stuck with live TV or Netflicks. We had also run through most of the series were following on Netflicks expect for the Caribbean British Police procedural show "Murder in Paradise." We like to save that for when we are lying down because that shit puts you asleep faster than any narcotic. So I had to find something new.

Well I think I did. There is another British Police Procedural called "Broadchurch." Coincidentally it stars the same dude that played the lawyer in the "Escape Artist" that we had just finished. He is a
pretty good actor so we decided to give it a chance.

It is set in Dorset a seaside community of England. It is the dark side of a show like Doc Martin. You get to visit a close knit insular community and meet the eccentric people who make up the town. But this is the dark side and you get to see how fucked up people can be.

This show deals with a pretty grim subject which is the murder of a child. The parents are naturally suspects and there are various creepy people who you think might be the perp. I am only two shows in but it seems engrossing. It has two seasons and they signed for a third so that's cool.

Tentatively recommended.

Sometimes a show will fool you

So we found this new British mini-series that sort of hits all the notes that we look for in a new series to watch on Netflicks. It is about a British lawyer or Barrister as they are called who is such a great defense lawyer that they call him the "Escape Artist." I guess because he helps them escape from a guilty sentence.

It is only three episodes so that is good. It starts out pretty good with a horrible scary villain who the lead gets off on a dead to rights murder charge. It devolves from there. It is pretty derivative and most of the twists and turns are telegraphed right away. So I can't really recommend it. I mean if you want to kill some time and have something on in the background to fall asleep to then this is the ticket. But it is not up to snuff.

Don't be Cruela.....baby

The new season of "One Upon a Time" has been very interesting. The current story arch has three villains who are helping the resident bad guy Rumpelstiltskin as he tries to change the story so the villains can get there happy endings. Since this a Disney production they have been using all of the multitude of Disney characters including Belle from Beauty in Beast, the Little Mermaid, the two broads from Frozen and of course Snow White and the Evil Queen. One of the funny and not quite perfect fits is the introduction of Cruella De Ville from 101 Dalmatians as one of the evil female villains.

Now Cruella is not your standard fairy tale character like Cinderella or Snow White so they had to give her a back story to make it plausible. Last night featured her and the back story was a doozy. It seems she was a homicidal little blond girl who poisoned her father. Then poisoned the next two step fathers even though her mother had imprisoned her in the attic like Jane Eyre. She was "rescued" by the "author" who is an integral part of the plot line. It seems that through the ages there has always been someone called the author who wrote in the book of tales and could control the lives of the characters he wrote about in the various realms. These authors throughout the years had include such people as Aesop, Grimm, Hans Christian Anderson and a guy named Disney. Neat right?

It all works out in the end as Cruella is murdered by mistake by one of the Heroes who is slowly going over to the dark side. She gets hers but had a whole prime episode to tell her story and for the actress to show off her acting chops. It was very well done mindless entertainment suitable for children of all ages.

Death in Paradise

I am always on the lookout for fun TV shows to watch because I am a TV junkie who revels in low brow entertainment for the masses.

Netflicks has become a great resource for me as we find series that we can binge watch and wallow in an interesting storyline and an often an exotic locale. "Harry Bosch" on Amazon was in LA which is exotic for me. "Bloodline" also on Amazon in the Florida Keys. "The Finder" another Florida show. "Doc Martin" set in Cornwall. "Orphan Black" in Toronto. Now we have found a new one.

"Murder in Paradise." It is your classic fish out of water story with an uptight British detective sent toe the laid back St Marie police station in the fictional island of St Marie in the Caribbean. Detective Inspector Poole is played by Ben Miller one of my favorites from "Primeval" another pretty cool English show. He is the uptight suit wearing Brit in the sunny island souronded by hot women in very little clothing. It has an interesting harmless little mystery that is not such a mystery and is all wrapped up at the end of the episode.

It is mindless and soothing and easy watching when you are winding down from a horrible day at work. Good fun.

Another excellent show we found on Amazon Prime

We have been binge watching Orphan Black and it is damn good. This Tatiana chick who plays all the clones is a very good actress. The show is very entertaining. We went through season one and are on season two already.

Highly recommended.

Happy Valley is a pretty good show

I love to read our friend Blake's great blog "The Bit Maelstrom" to get movie reviews and decide what I am going to spend my hard earned money on when I go to pay per view. He always gives me a feel for the latest flicks so I can decide if I want to chance it.

Personally I don't like movies much anymore. They are mostly just bullshit. I certainly don't want to go to a movie house with a bunch of other people and listen to their bullshit while me feet are stuck to the floor from spilled sticky soda and smelly popcorn farts. I prefer to watch my widescreen smart TV on my couch with snacks and a bathroom steps away.

So I concentrate on TV series. Now that I have Netflicks I get a bunch of great new shows that I know nothing about. One of them was a little British cop series called "Happy Valley."

Now it stars a couple of Brits you might be familar with. One is Mrs. Obrien from "Downton Abbey" who left that series to come to this one. She plays the alcholic drug addicted sister who is trying to recover while living with her police Sergent sister and her grandson. That sister is played by a great actress named Sarah Lancashire who you might know from "Last Tango in Halifax" which is another great series to be found on Netflicks ( which I will talk about in another post).

This series only has six episodes but is an adsorbing crime drama about kidnapping. The Yorkshire countryside is also a character and very interesting to me. This series is great TV viewing and short enough that you won't get bored. So if you have a chance you should check it out. It beats the crap out of most of American episodic TV.
