Set me up a Peroni

Lately I have been laying off the stout because I do not want to become what that name implies. So the Guinness has been off the menu and I have been enjoying Peroni. This is an Italian imported beer and is a nice simple light larger. It is a great alternative to Heineken although some people think it is skunky. Now I think Heineken is too skunky for me so I am fine with Peroni. It's great with pizza or a veal parm sandwich.

I wanted to thank Cedarford.

I want to thank Cedarford for the nice words he said about me somewhere else this weekend.

And to thank him for this photo he emailed me.

He voted for schnapps. Unfortunately it is not on the list.

He is threatening to invade Poland.

You are never to young

Hey you are never too young to learn about the good things in life.

Just reach out and grab the gusto.

She voted for beer.

She voted for beer. But being a career gal she wanted to be very efficient. A real multi-tasker.

Because you never buy beer. You just rent it.

How to make wine!

First you must gather the grapes and hold them firmly to your bosum. Then you must place them in a oak cask and have a beautiful woman strip naked and climb into the cask and crush these grapes gently with her pristine soft tender feet as the sun shines on the mountain as she gently oh so gently mashes the grapes...and then.. and then...I forget.

What's your favorite adult beverage?

What's your favorite adult beverage? From of course the five choices which are as follows:

Beer

Wine

Scotch

Bourbon

Vodka

I didn't want to load the dice so I put some fair photos up there. Have at it you rummies.

Bass Rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well the poll is over and the last pint has been drained. Here are the official results:
Bass Ale 11 votes
Samuel Smith 10 votes
Newcastle 8 votes
John Courage 2 votes
A surprisingly strong showing for Samuel Smiths Nutmeg Brown Ale. Original Mike and Hooiser Daddy should be proud as they led the charge for Bass, a worthy champion.
I think the problem with John Courage is that most people now only know it by it's real name:
John Courage Mellencamp.

Bass is winning big time!

Bass Ale is way our in front so Hoosier Daddy and Original Mike can sleep like a baby. Still a little time to vote so good luck to all these great beers.

Sunday, January 11, 2009

Hey something is out front...I mean someone is out front..I mean someone is winning!

Hey Bass has pulled out into the lead with one day left in the poll. Lets get those final votes in.

I am taking suggestions for our next poll. I am thinking of hot chicks that all you guys are afraid of from TV but I am open to a better idea.

Jager.

Hey some three ways just don't work out!

Well the 3 way tie is over for now and Newcastle is in the lead. There is still time to vote.

Remember the buck stops here. So to speak.

It's an RH Hardin 3 Way!

It 's three way tug RH Hardin style. When he want's to give the chickens a rest he knows it's time to screw the pooch. So to speak.

And we don't want to screw the pooch in our beer poll which is still a three way tie with Bass, Samuel Smiths and Newcastle tied at 7 votes each. Let's get some more votes to win this puppy.

Eh let me rephrase that.

Sarah Palin won't touch our Poll

Sarah Palin won't touch our Poll, so we are still tied in a three way fight to the finish.
Bass, Newcastle and Samuel Smiths are all tied with six votes and we need some more new blood.
So if you haven't voted, you have been very naughty. But if you vote now I won't tell.
And neither will Sarah.

It's looks like a 3 way.

It looks like a 3 way.
A three way tie in our best ale poll.
Newcastle, Bass and Samuel Smith's are tied with 6 votes each.
Poor John Courage is Larry back at the Regal Beagel wondering where he went wrong.

It seems like a two team race?

So far it seems like a two beer race here in the poll. Bass seems to be dissed which is kind of unfair. I always enjoy a good cold Bass Ale especially on tap. It is my go to beer in most of the Irish pubs in the city to this very day.

Recently I found five bottles stashed in the back of the refrigerator.

What a great breakfast.

Samuel Smith's is also not to be denied.

Samuel Smith's Nut Brown ale is also a force to be reckoned with. Very enjoyable after a long day in a tall cool glass.
It seems to be popular with our readers. Try it and I bet you will enjoy it.

Hey the poll is progressing very nicely!

Our pole is progressing nicely and my favorite Newcastle is in the lead. There is surprising support for Samuel Smiths Brown Ale which is a favorite in the Northeast.

Bass Ale was the beer I drank through out the eighties as it was omnipresent in all the Irish Saloons of New York. It was handled by the Guinness distributor so if you had one you had to take the other.

John Courage is a more obscure brand that you could still find in a few British pubs in the city including Manchester on Second Avenue and one of my buddies old locals the British Open which was an English golf pub devoted to golfing and beer. John Courage was very smooth off the tap and pretty good in a can. You should give it a try.

What's your posion?

Hey we have a new poll up. What's your favorite ale? I posted my four favorites and I would like to hear yours.

Of course we only poll about women and beer.

If you are interested in politics you have to check out one of those nerdy spots.
