Jets vs Giants tonight and nobody gives a shit.

The Jets and the Giants play the final preseason game tonight and nobody gives a shit. It used to be a big deal in the NFL-AFL days. Even in the 1970's it was big stuff. But the Giants have been so dominant and the Jets have sucked so hard that it doesn't matter anymore. All the juice goes out of a rivalry like this if the teams play too many times.

I mean everybody hates on Rex Ryan and Mark Sanchez so even the Jets fans hate their own team. They just want to see their new draft pick quarterback who seems to suck like a real Jet.

It's like the Mets and the Yankees. The Mets and their fans get all excited about these games and the Yankees just want to win so they can get to the World Series.

At least football is almost here.

Sometimes you can ignore what people say....

Sometimes you can't.

When you become a public figure you have to be careful what you say. The smallest controversial comment can go and bite you in the ass. That is why I made the blog private in the first place. Unscrupulous people would take things out of context and tar you with the brush they wanted to paint you with.

Victor Cruz is learning all about that. He tweeted a nasty George Zimmerman tweet. To the tune that
“Thoroughly confused. Zimmerman doesn’t last a year before the hood catches up to him.”

Now I don't think that is all that controversial. I mean he is saying that some fool is going to take a run at Zimmerman and he won't last a year. Unless he moves to Idaho or something. But this tweet caused an uproar and he had to do the ritual humiliation tour.

It sucks what this country has become. You can't say what you want. You can't be off color or racial or anything with out the politically correct going after you. It is not good. What it does is push that sentiment underground.

Where it can explode in the most unexpected ways.

RIP Dave Jennings

One of my all time favorite NY Giants has passed away after a lingering illness.

Punter Dave Jennings was a "True Giant." Even though at the end of his career he spent some time with the dog ass Jets.

Most people don't pay much attention to punters. You only notice them when they don't do their job. So for him to have such a high profile is unusual. He did it by being a fair and articulate interview while he was a player and it carried over when he became an analyst for radio and TV. He would criticize the Giants when they deserved it but was not afraid to praise them when they did it right. He was just as good on the Jets telecasts as he was on the Giants.

He will be missed.

Rest in peace Dave.

What's that smell?

It's the fuckin' Giant's stinking up the joint!

The only reason they got killed was because I was sick today and got to watch the whole game on my new 43inch HD TV! Whenever I get to watch the game uninteruppted they always get their ass kicked.

Well except for the Super Bowl.

Or when they play losers like the 49er's, Pats or Fudge Packers.

The Giants always have to do it the hard way.

Jeeez.

WTF....why can't they all be like that

I mean they are killing me. It can never be easy with the Giants.

The Giants finally broke out and scored some points. They always have to do it the hard way. At least we broke out and hit it. Enough with the low scoring bullshit.

The Giants always seem to come up with young talented speed guys at running back or recciever. Our GM Jerry Reese hit big with David Wilson. That kid can play. I hope he gets more touches as a running back or little flare passes.

We might have something there. Just sayn'

RG3 is the real deal!

I want to congratulate RG3 and the Redskins on their victory on Monday Night. RG3 is a hell of a player and we will be battling him for many years to come. He is not an overrated poser with a seventies porn mustache like Aaron Rodgers or an over the hill pretty boy like Tom Brady or a celebutard star fucker like Tony Romo or Mark Dirty Sanchez. RG3 is the real deal. He is tough. He puts his head down and gets the yardage when he has to do it. He is a leader and shows respect for the opponents without being a kiss ass.

Even all of Eli's Special Olympics retarded guy idiot savant mojo just couldn't overcome RG3 this time. I am just glad that their team isn't up to the same level. They will be soon. Maybe next year. But in the meantime we can go back to doing what we need to do to get to the playoffs.

The Giants never make it easy. They beat the shit out of overrated bullshit teams like Green Bay and Frisco but lose to teams they should beat like the Bengals and the Skins. It's the same as it ever was.

But RG3 is a monster and he is only gonna get better. He is everything that Michael Vick was supposed to be just without the dead dogs and criminality. I look forward to our battles with him for the next ten years.

Oh ND and Michael Haz. Did I mention to you lately that the New York Giants have won the Super Bowl?

Scary Tigers!

The Giants can never do it the easy way. They blow a winable game against the Bengals because they can't get it together. Eli always does this. The defense always does this. They play down to the level of the competition. Plus they have a bye next week so they weren't paying attention.

I know they will make a run in the playoff but this is just ridiculous.

That kid is good....

It was a close one today and I just want to say that the Redskins quarterback is the real deal. RG3 is one of the most talented guys I have seen since.....err....Eli Manning.

This was an exciting well played game and I really enjoyed it. Eli did what he does best. Win the game at the end of the game. Nobody has done that as much since Roger Staubach.

We have to keep an eye on the Redskins. They are a great up and coming team.

Now if the Packers and Jets get creamed it would be a perfect Football Sunday!

Tebow the Scram?

There was an interesting discussion the other day on the radio where someone was saying that Tim Tebow was like Roger Staubach of the old Cowboy teams. Not the greatest arm but he could run around and win games by hook or by crook.

I don't think Tebow is like Roger because Roger had a much better arm. I think Tebow is more like Fran Tarkenton who played on my old Giant teams. He was "Fran the Scram" who ran around all over the place and didn't have much of an arm. But Tebow is much better because he has a lot of talent as a runner. So he is really a combination of Fran Tarkenton and Bobby Douglas from the old Chicago Bears teams. Bobby was a great runner and impossible to stop.

Tebow moved the offense when he was in there and I bet you he starts for the Jet's next week.

In other news,,,,,,,Eli Manning made a bunch of new receivers look good last night. Just as I told that Masshole when he was telling me that Eli was a "wicked piece of shit".....Eli just seems to win with different wide receivers and running backs. The only constant is Eli. So he has nothing to do with it? Right:

Sorry about that Packer's Fans

Hey it is only one game. Just like the Giants. You only lost the opener. I bet you will make back to the playoffs. Maybe even to the championship game.

Where the Giants will beat your loser asses again.

Look at the bright side Packer fans.

At least you don't root for the Patriots.

Funny there wasn't any Packer's stuff...I wonder why?

So there wasn't much cool stuff to bid on at the silent auction this year. Except for sports related stuff.

The Cancer society has a connection with a memorabilia guy who works all the fundraisers. He puts out  a piece and sets a minimum price where he makes money and the charity makes some dough. Of course the higher the bidding the more the charity makes.

What was funny was that almost all of the pieces were either the Yankees or the Football Giants. There was one Jackie Robinson thing and one Met's piece and one Knick's item and all the other fifty things were Yankees or Giants.

I bid on a couple of pieces. I lost out on the Larry Johnson autographed basketball which was kind of unique because it was also autographed by all of the sixteen children he had with sixteen different mothers. They know their audience.

I lost on the Eli Manning autographed football used in the Super Bowl that went for a couple of grand. My bid was damn good but not that good.

I also lost on a huge framed photo of the core four Yankees of Jeter, Posada, Pettite and Mariano. I was sure I would get that one but somebody beat me out.

The one piece I did get had photos of the two great catches in the last two Giant Superbowl wins. The David Tyree catch and the Mario Manningham catch of this last one. It also has game tickets attached for the Superbowl. Funny the face value is around $900. Holy smokes.

It is going on the wall in Jim's corner in the back room where the husbands hang out while the wife shops. Along with the photo of Frank and Dean having a cocktail that I got last year. I plan to pick something up every year to decorate the walls.

When Stacy saw me carrying it back to the table she said "Oh what did you get Jim?" I said "I got this great Giant's Superbowl photo montage. Did  I tell you lately that the Giants won the Super Bowl?" She said "Not more than once a day Jim. Not more than once I day."

Alex Webster RIP

When I was a kid my old man would take me to Fairfield University to watch the Giants training camp. They had many stars but my favorite was Alex Webster. He was great w/ kids, would sign autographs even when tired @ the end of two a day workouts. Webster wasn't as fast or as good as many running backs[he was white after all!] but he played hard on every down. He died yesterday in Florida @ age 80.

I met Alex Webster at a lunchen when he was the Giants coach after Allie Sherman was fired. HE was kind enough to hang around and talk to a bunch of us fans who attended the CYO rubber chicken dinner. He talked about the team and about his admiration for the Mara's who owned the team. Some of the older guys were downright angry at the time because that was the begining of the long decline of the Giants. The next season Alex won Coach of the year but he got fired a few years later when they started flying planes with banners over the stadium.

I also ran into him one night with Andy Robestelli in PJ Clarkes which was a big Giants hang out back in the day. I offered to buy them a drink but they were only drinking seltzer water. I didn't intrude on their conversation but just thanked them for the classy way that they represented my team.

He was a good man.

Thanks Nick.

Why did you drop your balls!

No this is not another "Deep Thoughts" by Titus!

It is sore loser supermodel Gisele Bundchen throwing the Patriot receiver's under the bus because they couldn't snag her poor husbands dieing quails as they hit the turf during the Super Bowl. She doesn't understand football she just understands blame shifting.

You know she really should be a Jets fan. Just sayn'

By the way did I mention that the New York Giants won the Super Bowl?
