It's important to keep up your families traditions every year.

Everyone has their Holiday traditions. Caroling. Decorating the tree. Going to Costco.

Every year we go to Florida to visit the family during the Holidays. We hit all of the stores to get supplies because Grandpa is there and he is cooking up a storm. So we go to Penn Dutch to get meat and veggies. Now Whole Foods to get condiments and gluten free supplies. And of course Costco to pick up stuff in bulk.

Now of course there is a Costco in Brooklyn but I never go there. It is too far and you need a car. But in Florida we rolled right up. Any you know what the best part of shopping in Costco is. Of course.

The Hot Dogs.

I begged and I pleaded and I got permission to have a hot dog. Man was I happy. I got on line and was able to score a nice dirty greasy hot dog. It was just like Nathans.

I ran right over to the condiment section and loaded up. I had to take my chance to have all the bad stuff in one shot because they watch me like a hawk. Relish. Onions. Deli Mustard. The works!

I managed to gobble it down from the door of Costco to the car. I was one happy dude. A greasy Hot Dog and a Mountain Dew. I felt like a native Floridian.

Merry Christmas to me!

For a minute there I thought this was dateline Madison Wisconsin

San Fransisco Examiner 9/13/14
Ryan Watenpaugh, a 34-year-old California man, was arrested and accused of a heinous act of retribution against an estranged former girlfriend. Watenpaugh allegedly killed and cooked his ex-girlfriend’sdog, served it to her under a ruse that it was beef, then rubbed it in her face with a deplorable text asking her how her missing pet tasted.
Writes the Huffington Post: “Ryan Eddy Watenpaugh denied roasting the missing Pomeranian when police arrested him on Thursday. The Palo Cedro man did, however, admit that he left the dog's severed paws on his former girlfriend's doorstep, authorities said. The victim told police that she fled Watenpaugh after an Aug. 4 fight in which he allegedly assaulted her. When she returned, the suspect and her dog, named Bear, were gone.”
The Shasta County man (mug shot seen here) was booked into jail in lieu of $250,000 bond. He was charged with domestic violence, false imprisonment, stalking and animal cruelty. When investigators searched his home, they also turned over an AK-47 assault rifle and ammunition.
Says the Sacramento Bee:
According to a written statement by Redding police, a woman reported on Tuesday that she was being stalked by Watenpaugh, whom she had dated for several months. She said he had physically attacked her numerous times, causing bruises and minor cuts, and had held her captive twice.
After the pair broke up in early August, they reconciled, despite the fact that Watenpaugh was physically abusive to his unnamed girlfriend. Last week, he cooked her a meal, then reportedly sent her a text message that said: “How does your dog taste?” Additional morbid texts came from Watenpaugh, telling the woman what he planned to do with other parts of the dog’s remains.
The woman told police that on Sept. 9, at about 1 a.m., she heard a vehicle pull into her driveway. She said she looked out and saw Watenpaugh leave a small paper bag at her doorstep. Inside were her Pomeranian's two front paws.
"It set all of us back when we actually read the text messages about the incident," Sgt Todd Cogle said. "You can really get the sense from reviewing the text messages that the relationship was extremely toxic. It was a pressure cooker of anger and resentment."
Watenpaugh admits to placing the bag of paws on her porch, but denies having cooked her dog. Additional charges are expected, including a weapons violation charge for the AK-47

Dog Photos that Gene Simmons don't want you to see.

But I know someone else that thinks this is hot.

I try to be refined and genteel at all times

In view of my position as a reality star, I have to watch my image. No late night calls to the police. No vomiting in the gutter. No running naked down Court St. None of that.

At all times I have to observe the niceties and make sure that I project the proper image.

That is why I didn't enter the contest this July 4th.

It wouldn't be right.

I love fine dining.....

You know. When you go to a great restaurant. Look over the menu. Weigh you choices carefully. Think about an appetizer. Consult with the waiter and the maitre d.

And get that well deserved fine dining experience that you can only get in a sophisticated center of taste and culture like New York City.

Hey I got invited to a barbeque at Obama's White House

They sent out invitations to everyone who has a TV show because they must think we are Hollywood douches or something.

But I don't care for the hot dogs he serves. Just sayn'

Shame on you Newsweek!

You know sometimes even crazy people are right once in a while. I think it is sexist and wrong for Newsweek to use "cheese cake" and sexist imagery in talking about Sarah Palin.

I mean it would be easy to post such disgusting and sexist photos to drive traffic and get more page views.

But that would be wrong.

Hey I haven't heard from Simon in a while?

I bet he is busy with some arcane legal issues.

Oh well I trust him to keep us abreast of any new developments in contract law.

So to speak.

Hot Dog it is!!!!!!!!!

Well the poll is over and the HOT DOG IS KING!!!!

The final results:

Hot dogs 32

Knish 7

Pizza 24

Ice Cream 14

Thanks to everyone who participated. As you know it was to help me decide what snack to grab as I run from client to client.

But the truth is that I usually just get one each as I walk up the avenue. That's the way I roll.

And I mean roll.

Who let the dogs out?

Hot dogs are running away with our little poll which just has a few hours to run. So you knish fans have to get your ass in gear. So to speak.

You can understand how hot dogs would be out front. They have been popular for many years. Here we have a photo of Eleanor Roosevelt's "friend" Leonora Hicthcock enjoying a tube steak in public in an effort to throw J. Edgar Hoover off track. If she had only known that J. Edgar enjoyed a good tube steak in his own right.

Anyway I am taking suggestions for our next poll so fire away.

It looks like you dig the Tube Steak.

It looks like you perverts like the tube steak as hot dogs remain in the lead in our little poll. I just didn't know that they came with instructions. Or is that celery she is holding?

Have a hot dog!

Well it looks like hot dogs are winniing in the poll so far. Now there is a great dispute in hot dog land. What's better, grilled or boiled. Most people prefer grilled dogs hot from the barbecue. You know that is a summer treat. But I grew up on the boiled dog. I love the dirty water dogs from the carts in the city. And at Yankee Stadium I always get them from the guys who bring them to the seats and not the ones that are on the rollers at the concession stands.Nothing is better than a hot dog with kraut and mustard and red onions on a cold day while you are waiting to go see the Christmas tree at Rockefeller center. Or calling the guy over and getting a dog at your seat on a hot July night at the Stadium. That's a little slice of heaven.

So what do you like: grilled or boiled.

The new poll is chugging along nicely.

The poll is moving along nicely but there is no love for the oyster po-boy. I guess the crowd that hangs around here likes to eat the meat. So to speak.

I think I am having hot dogs for lunch.

Tony Dogs is going to Mardi Gra this year. I hear Monica Lewinsky is the Grand Marshal or whatever it's called.

My friend Tony is going to New Orleans again this year for Mardi Gra. He came into the store last night and dropped that little tidbit. He goes almost every year because he has family down there and loves to visit. Of course he has to brag about that when the snow and raining is falling down on our heads. The Rat.

I just wish Beth would stop bragging about how warm it is in NOLA.

I just wish Beth would stop bragging about how warm it is in NOLA. It's snowing and sleeting here in Brooklyn and shes posting that she is sipping margaritas on the balcony of some french quarter joint.
I just want you to know that I know a couple of Korean dudes who have restaurant in Baton Rouge. Just sayn'

It's been snowing in Brooklyn and the store is slow.

It's been snowing in Brooklyn and the store is slow. That sucks. Although this has been one of the best weeks we have ever had so I can't complain.

Anyway I haven't been able to eat anything but mush because of my tooth extraction. No steaks. No heros. No fried dumplings. No Philly cheese steak sandwich's. No hot dogs.

You know when those explorers were out in the North Pole were freezing and starving and started having visions of food that they didn't have to eat. I always thought that was bullshit.

I have to tell you, it's true.
