Storage Wars 3

We are building a twelve by ten storage locker in the basement to hold all of our off season clothing. It will be lined in cedar to keep the bugs and mice out.

This is what we finally decided on instead of moving to the city.  By creating clean safe storage in the basement we can empty out the back store and set up the lingerie store to maximize the earnings potential of our site.

It works out to about a hundred bucks a month which is a lot cheaper than the cheapest storage unit. We should be done next week. But in the meantime we will be working like dogs to get everything done.

Storage Wars 2

We had to go to our storage unit on Third Avenue to empty it out. We are building a storage unit in the basement. It is pretty elaborate and I will describe in a different post.

Of course this was the storage unit filled with the stuff from the back room of the store that the people on the show took to storage. We haven't had occasion to go there since we filled it and it was time to close it out and save the money. Of course I couldn't find the key so I had to have my friend Linus who runs the joint cut the lock for me.

He couldn't break it with the clippers so he had bring up the saw to cut it off. It took a good ten minutes because it was a really good lock.

The unit was filled with a lot of clothes that we have no way to sell since it is out of date and not trendy anymore. So we donated it all to a battered woman's charity so it will go to a good cause. They came to help us clean out the locker and close it down.

It was a lot of work and I was exhausted after it was done.

Storage Wars comes to Brooklyn

Yesterday we spent the day at our storage units. We are consolidating and throwing stuff out to prepare for some changes we want to make. We had some stuff to throw out. I wish Dave and the other mooks were there to bid on it.

Maybe I would have made some dough on the deal.

Reality Show Star is Douchebag!

What you are suprised?

Big Douche Dave Hester of "Storage Wars" is holding out for more money. Everyone else is signed but he wants the big bucks. Sometimes when you seem to be the focus of one of these shows you get ahead of yourself. Dave plays the villain on the show. Sort of like Jill Zarin used to do on "Real Housewives of New York." In fact Jill had a lot more juice and more of a storyline. And they dumped her yenta ass. Dave can go right over the side right as quick. He is not articulate. Nobody likes him. He just acts like a dick and gets everyone annoyed. Those kind of guys are easy to find.

I think if you get a little bit of glory from this stuff you need to be humble and thankful for what you got.

That's why I told the lady for the commercial that we don't care what kind of M&M's they have in the bowl in the green room.

We want to stay humble.

If the "Storage Wars" douche can do it so can I.

I was watching "Storage Wars" last night and I was very encouraged. If a fat ugly douche like Darrell Sheets can be a star....then it will be a piece of cake.

You see I never wear tank tops or wife beaters on TV. So I am already ahead of the game.

"Storage Wars" is a very successful reality show but it points to a real problem with the genre. It is very repetitive as they do the same things over and over. They bid each other up....somebody wins....they find a strange artifact or doodad that they need appraised....and they add up the money they can get when they sell the contents of the storage and see if they made a profit or not. But it is not really "reality." You see they "salt" the units to recreate stuff that had already happened or try to make it more interesting. And the prices they quote for selling the stuff is all bullshit.

We are going to try to keep the reality in reality shows if we can.

I just won't wear a wife beater on the air. That would be way too real.
