Storage Wars comes to Brooklyn

Yesterday we spent the day at our storage units. We are consolidating and throwing stuff out to prepare for some changes we want to make. We had some stuff to throw out. I wish Dave and the other mooks were there to bid on it.

Maybe I would have made some dough on the deal.

That's mean.

I worry about my storage space all the time. I still have most of my belongings (and almost all of my life's artwork) in a storage unit in Brooklyn which costs me almost 400 dollars a month. That might not sound like much, but I can barely manage it in my current state. It was only through the good graces of some of yooz guys that I was able to save it from auction over last summer, and only by selling a couple of heirlooms that I was able to save my belongings from auction again in December.

It's one of the great worries of my life at this point, since I have no way of moving the stuff to a cheaper storage space, perhaps in another state (I don't drive) and I have no prospects for getting a place of my own again, at least in the foreseeable future.

It was a propaganda film for the Democarats and said to be "based on a true story" and I smelt BS. I looked it up to check the story line and sure enough about half the film was fabricated nonsense.

Hmm. I'm not that good at spatial reasoning of that sort. The unit I currently have is 10 x 15 x 8, but that's mostly not jam-packed at all. When I had the stuff moved in, I wasn't able to have it put in the unit efficiently so there's a lot of wasted space. Not everything is packed well either, since it was a very rushed job. So I think it would fit into a smaller space. Aside from the initial move, I've had no help at all, so I've really been unable to organize the stuff better, as I'm just not physically capable of moving things or doing any climbing around, especially now with my knee. As I said, being a non-driver also greatly complicates things.

Anyway, I would love to be able to find something more sustainable until I can get my life back together again. Paying that bill every month has really kept me from getting ahead at all.; January 22, 2014 at 1:24 PM

I've never hired real movers so I have no idea how much that would cost; wouldn't moving the stuff to another state be very expensive? I'd love to get it out of New York, especially out of the place it's in; it's $359.00 a month and since I'm usually late with my payment, they tack on a $100 dollar late fee after 5 days (!). I also hate the place because in order to get to it I have to take a bus that departs from the bus plaza that's right across the street from the building I was evicted from.; January 22, 2014 at 1:29 PM
