It takes a lot of balls to tell the truth

It takes a lot of balls to tell the truth about bad stuff that happens to you and I have to say that R A Dickey has a lot of balls.

He is a Met's relief pitcher and you all know how I feel about the Mets and their crybaby loser players. But he has just completed a very honest autobiography that I intend to purchase. In it he details how he was abused as a child and sexually used by his babysitter. I bet that happens a lot more than we know. He also details how he saw needles on the floor of the clubhouse when he was a Texas Ranger in the Juan Gonzales, A-Rod and Pudge days. It looks like a very interesting book. He is only a journeymen pitcher but he has been around the block and is not afraid to tell the truth.

I can't wait to read his book.

I bet he is going to talk about Bobby Valentine touching him in the shower. Just sayn'

Don't you know who I am.

The Mets really suck.

They are basically a laughingstock and a disgrace to the game. Not because they choked the last couple of years. Any team can choke it up. The Yankees had one of the memorable choke jobs of all time against the Red Sox. But everything the Mets do is bush league.

They opened up their new Stadium at the same time as the Yankees. And the Mets made their new Citifield a monument to the glory and the history of a baseball team. The Brooklyn Dodgers. Not the Mets. You almost couldn't tell what freakin team played there. What a bunch of maroons.

Now there is a big controversy over this front office guy Tony Bernazard who is a bit of a loose cannon. There have been a steady drumbeat of accusations against this guy as everyone who hates him has been going to the press to spill the beans. Now Tony is one of these "wise Latino" guys who puts everything on a racial basis. Carlos Delgado said that Tony tried to recruit him to the Mets by telling him the Latin guys had to stick together. When Omar Minaya came in as the general manager, Tony was his hachetman. They dumped a lot of the white and black players and really concentrated on bringing Latin guys to team. Now don't get me wrong, every team has a strong latin contingent because those are the guys who play baseball. White guys concentrate on pitching and black guys have given up on the game in favor of football and basketball. So every team has what can seem like a Latin majority. It just got to be such an issue that it was all over the paper and the racist Mets fans were calling up sports radio to complain.

The joke was that METS stood for: My Entire Team's Spanish. So that was the background of the bullshit that has been going around.

Now besides being a racist Tony was your garden variety asshole. There was a big story that he ripped off his shirt like the incredible Hulk and challenged some minor leaguers to a fight. Now I don't see what the big deal about that was. I mean if when Billy Martin was managing the Yankees we had a name for that: it was called Tuesday. But this country has become such a bunch of pussies that you can't challenge a bunch of pussies to work or you will kick their ass. What is this country coming too? So all your liberal pussies are crying and saying the guy has to be punished and he is creating a hostile work environment and all this crap. The Mets brass didn't have the balls to tell them to fuck off but started an investigation. Then they started to Sarah Palin the guy.

Every asshole who ever had a beef with this jamoke came out of the word work. There was a clubhouse attendant who told a front page story Sunday how Bernazard walked into a minor league clubhouse and when the attendant asked for identification he refused to answer. I guess he though he was a Harvard professor or something. So the guy sees he has this big key ring and assumes he is the bus driver and he asks him "Hey are you the bus driver." And old Tony goes batshit insane "Why just because I am Latino I have to be the bus driver. DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM?"

Now the proper response to that is "You're the guy who is gonna get a kick in the balls if you don't stop screaming like an asshole." But it was just another thing for the pussies in the media to use to knock the guy out of a job. I mean if this is one of your guys you just have to tell the pussies in the press to fuck off. You don't throw one of your boys to the wolves. Or under the bus. Not if you want anybody to respect you. (I'm looking at you Barry).

Now the general manager just had a press conference to fire Tough Tony. But he stepped in the shit. He said he discounted the story because they came from a reporter in Daily News who had been lobbing for a job with the team. So the shit hit the fan. The reporters went crazy saying you are impugning the guys integrity and all this shit. You got to be kidding me. The only thing worse than a journalist is a lawyer. I remember when Dick Young the most powerful sportswriter in America got his son-in-law a job with a ball team and used his column to help the kid get a head in the company. Of course that was the Mets under M Donald Grant so what else is new.

The Mets don't have a clue. The idiots who hate the Yankees love to make fun of the Steinbrenners and what George used to do. Well he has a bushel full of championships to show for it. And what do your Metsies have. Uh gatz.

All in all it is a pretty good time to be a Yankee fan.

Remembrance of things Pabst

When I was a kid we couldn't afford to go to the Hamptons or some fancy vacation. I mean we would all jump in my uncles car and go out to Plum Beach out before you hit Long Island. It was on the Brooklyn/Queens border and right off the Belt Parkway. My Grandmother would have her chair and her umbrella and made us sandwiches with just tomato and olive oil and salt and oregano and lot's of love. And she would have a paper sack with an inexhaustable pile of peaches and plums and nectarines. But we only would go once in a while when my uncle was off because he worked on the docks. In those days when a ship came in it had to be off loaded right away. A ship full of banana's couldn't wait because the fruit would go bad so they worked 48 hours straight or however long it took to unload.

So I didn't get to the beach. What we used to do was turn on the fire hydrant like you see in the photo. One of the older guys would get a wrench and open it up and the water would spew out and he would take a tin can and put it on the opening and spew water out. They would always try to get it in the windows of passing cars. Some guys would roll up their windows and stop and get a quick car wash. We would run around and get soaked and cool off on the burning hot days until the cops came around and shut off the hydrant.

Then I would go up the corner to Toomey's bar and get a growler of beer for the old man to have while he watched the Mets. We couldn't afford air conditioning so we all sat in front of the fan while my mom grilled some burgers and franks on the little Hibachi we had on the fire escape. I remember we did that one night when Tom Seaver was pitching a no hitter into the ninth against the Cubs, I think Jimmy Quals broke it up with a single.

Life was simpler then.

Subway Series Sweep.

While I was busy the Yankees swept the Mets three straight in the latest edition of the subway series.

Despite the photo, they didn't demolish Shea Stadium, they laid waste to Citi Field.

The Yanks have had some rough patches so I enjoyed this.

And if there is any justice, Doyle will hang himself for the shame of it all.

Well we can always hope, right.

Even the Met's fans are showing up!

Doyle, commenter and liberal extraordinaire has stopped by to say hello. He is also one of the biggest Met's fans around so I want to take this opportunity to wish them well and say I hope we meet in the World Series. So the Yankees can whip their sorry asses again just like we did the last time.
Welcome to our humble hangout and remember, hold the politics and pass the meatloaf.

Meet the Mets!

New York Daily News February 11, 2009 BY John Marzulli and Tracy Connor

Baseball great Roberto Alomar has full-blown AIDS but insisted on having unprotected sex, his ex-girlfriend charged Tuesday in a bombshell lawsuit.
The shocking claim was leveled by Ilya Dall, 31, who said she lived with the ex-Met for three years and watched in horror as his health worsened.
In papers filed in state and federal court, Dall said Alomar finally got tested in January 2006 while suffering from a cough, fatigue and shingles.
"The test results of him being HIV-positive was given to him and the plaintiff on or about Feb.6, 2006," the $15 million negligence suit says.
Nine days later, the couple went to see a disease specialist who discovered a mass in the retired second baseman's chest, the court papers say.
Alomar's skin had turned purple, he was foaming at the mouth and a spinal tap "showed he had full-blown AIDS," the suit says.
Alomar, 41, who quit baseball over health issues in 2005, could not be reached for comment.
His lawyer, Charles Bach, would not say whether Alomar is HIV-positive. "We believe this is a totally frivolous lawsuit. These allegations are baseless," Bach said. "He's healthy and would like to keep his health status private. We'll do our talking in court."
Alomar's father, Mets bench coach Sandy Alomar, said the claims were news to him. "That's the first time we ever heard of that," he said from Puerto Rico.
He didn't think his son could keep a serious illness secret. "I imagine I would know," he said.
Dall, a mother of two who has run a massage spa in Queens, would not discuss the suit.
"I have no comment," she said outside her lavish home in Whitestone, Queens, after getting out of a black Cadillac Escalade.
She referred inquiries to her lawyer, Anthony Piacentini, who declined to comment.
The suit was filed Jan. 30 in Queens Supreme Court. Alomar had it transferred to Brooklyn Federal Court Tuesday.
The court papers outline the couple's relationship, starting in 2002. A month after they began dating, Alomar convinced Dall to have unprotected sex and assured her he was disease-free, the suit alleges.
In 2004, Dall says she noticed cold sores in his mouth. In 2005, after a physical exam ordered by the Tampa Bay Rays, he was diagnosed with thrombocytopenia purpura, a blood disorder sometimes linked to HIV, she claims.
The doctor told him to have an HIV test and he refused, she says, stating he had been tested and was AIDS-free.
In April 2005, Alomar told Dall he was suffering from erectile dysfunction and confided "he was raped by two Mexican men after playing a ballgame in New Mexico or a Southwestern state when he was 17," the suit says.
It goes on to say that around the same time Alomar developed a persistent cough and was bedridden with extreme fatigue.
He developed thrush, a yeast infection, and was told by a doctor to take an HIV test - but refused, Dall claims.
"I don't have HIV," he told her repeatedly, the suit charges.
A few months later, the couple moved to Cleveland, where Alomar supposedly tested positive. Dall claims that after she learned Alomar had AIDS, she tested negative and no longer had unprotected sex with him.
They broke up last October.
She is demanding at least $15 million in punitive damages, claiming Alomar caused her emotional distress and exposed her children to the virus.
"He jeopardized the health, well-being and life of the plaintiff, which caused her to have a fear of contracting AIDS, often referred to as AIDS phobia," the suit says.
Considered one of baseball's greatest second basemen, Alomar stirred controversy in 1996 by spitting in the face of umpire John Hirschbeck.
The incident prompted fellow ump Al Clark to say, "If I were John, I'd insist that Robbie Alomar take an AIDS test."
HIV has never been transmitted through saliva, however, and last night Hirschbeck said he had no concerns about his safety - or hard feelings from their on-field run-in.
"You're telling me something I'm shocked at," Hirschbeck said. "I wish him nothing but the best."
Alomar who is currently retired from baseball, currently operates a blog site that is obsessed with the uterus of Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin.

Everybody Loves Shamsky

New York Post February &, 2009
RUFF SEX SLAM ON 'SHAM'
By ALIYAH SHAHID and TODD VENEZIA
Kim Shamsky's nasty fight with her Amazin' ex-husband is really going to the dogs.
The scorned wife's battle against Art Shamsky hit a new low when she quoted yesterday a line from a 16-year-old love note he sent her, which she claimed shows his "dark side."
The odd closing to the letter, referencing their pet Maltese, Bianca, was: "I got carried away and started to play with the dog's nipple somewhere in the middle of the night."
"That's not a joke," she told The Post. "Who would ever buy a card like that? This means that he was playing with the dog . . . It's disgusting."
The doggie to-do - the latest in a series of knee-buckling curves that included claims of him switch-hitting with men and women - is raising the bar on her claims from "
The card was sent before the couple married in 1993. Kim Shamsky mysteriously claimed that she did not open it until after they wed in 1994.
"I would have never said 'I do' if I read the card at the time," she said. "My dogs are the most important thing to me. Bianca was my kid."
While her ex has threatened to take out a restraining order against her, she said a restraining order should be taken out "against him going into a pet store."
Sladkus was stunned to hear that Kim - who said she's "not accusing him [Shamsky] of anything" - was making more outrageous claims two days after she made front-page headlines by haranguing the '69 Met on a Midtown street.
Thursday, Sladkus publicly warned Kim Shamsky that she should stop making potentially slanderous claims.
"I'd like to hear her repeat that charge in open court," he said. "When people act like that, it's a sign of desperation."
The couple divorced in 2006. Last year, Kim filed an emotional-distress lawsuit against the 67-year-old former player, who starred on the 1969 World Series champion Miracle Mets.
Kim Shamsky claims she's due money because her ex caused her psychological damage by fooling around on her during their marriage and exposing her to a sexually transmitted disease. He has denied the allegations, and his lawyer dismissed it as her attempt to recoup money she lost in the nasty divorce.
Kim Shamsky said she planned to continue speaking out. She said Sladkus "should stop eating ice cream and read his law books. It's called the First Amendment.

Everybody loves Shamsky.

New York Post February 5, 2009

By ALIYAH SHAHID and DAVID K. L I
Hell hath no fury like a baseball wife scorned!
The enraged ex-wife of Miracle Met Art Shamsky tracked him to a Midtown luncheon yesterday and chased him down the street to air her allegations that he's a lying snake in the grass who carried on affairs with both men and women while they were married.
Kim Shamsky confronted the New York sports hero at Gallagher's Steakhouse, where he and several other members of the legendary 1969 Mets squad were part of a benefit for the American Heart Association.
As Shamsky hit the sidewalk to leave, Kim ambushed the Met and stalked him down 52nd Street, screaming at him and demanding a verbal throwdown.
"Set yourself free . . . Why can't you look at me?" a rampaging Kim shouted, as Shamsky tried to speed away with his ear glued to a cellphone.
He made it just a half-block east to Broadway, before deciding to reverse course and seek protection back inside Gallagher's from his angry ex.
The bickering couple was married in 1994 and divorced 12 years later.
Kim sued Shamsky last year, claiming she's owed compensation for the "physiological and emotional injuries" associated with his years of unfaithfulness.
"He believes his own lies and he just hides, because everything he does is a lie and he can't admit it," said Kim, a wealthy entrepreneur who built an empire of temporary-employment agencies.
"I have e-mails that he's done this to other people so justice will be served when this comes out in court," she said of the electronic paper trail she's basing her court case on.
"He was leading a double, triple, quadruple life."
Kim said she decided to take her case to the street to confront her former husband publicly and remind him that she's not through with him.
"I just wanted to say, 'Bye, Artie, see you in court,' " Kim said. "I want justice to be served in the court."
Inside the restaurant, Shamsky bristled when asked about his ex-wife.
"Why would you even ask me that question?" the agitated jock yelled.
He was surrounded by teammates Bud Harrelson, Ed Kranepool and Ron Swoboda at the event, where attendees paid $75 for lunch and a copy of Shamsky's book, "The Magnificent Seasons."
The former big-leaguer hit .300 with 14 home runs for the World Series-winning Amazin's in 1969. And he batted a torrid .538 in the National League Championship Series against Atlanta.
The Mets went on to beat the Baltimore Orioles in the World Series for the team's first title.
Kim has said she'll likely continue to publicly confront Shamsky - although she hasn't decided how often.
With this year marking the 40th anniversary of the Miracle Mets and the new Citi Field opening in two months, reunions of that 1969 squad figure to be plentiful.
In her lawsuit, Kim claimed Shamsky's infidelity led her to catch a sexually transmitted disease. She has purchased the rights to www.ArtShamskySucks.com to launch a safe-sex campaign - complete with T-shirts and condoms.
"I'm waiting for my case to be settled, so I can have this campaign and show everything on this Web site - including all of Art's personal e-mails to show he did what he said he did not do," Kim said.
Shamsky has denied all his ex-wife's allegations.

Hey Doyle isn't the only Putz with the Mets.

The Mets have traded for JJ Putz from the Mariners in a three way which included Cleveland. With Doyle in the stands and JJ on the mound the New York Metropolitans will definitely lead the league in putz's this year.

Wednesday, December 3, 2008

Robert Romano is looking at his bulldog and wondering tonight.

New York Post, Page Six December 3, 2008 --
THE ex-wife of Art Shamsky claims the Mets legend gave her a sexually transmitted disease after repeatedly cheating on her with both men and women.

In a sordid lawsuit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, Kim Shamsky says that during their 13-year marriage the famed outfielder and first baseman "engaged in acts of adultery with both men and women," without her knowledge. His romps included "acts of 'unprotected' sexual and deviate sexual intercourse," according to the suit.

The court papers state that Kim, suspecting her hubby was fooling around, submitted to a number of medical tests. After one examination, she was informed by her doctor she had contracted the human papilloma virus (HPV). Medical experts say HPV can cause problems such as genital warts and cervical cancer.

The suit claims Shamsky continued to have sex with her although he "knew that an individual or individuals with whom he had engaged in sexual relations had contracted HPV or that he had contracted HPV."

Kim, who says she suffered "serious physiological and emotional injury," is asking for $11 million in damages.

Art's lawyer, Pat Crispo, dismissed the entire lawsuit as "frivolous" and insisted Shamsky is free of sexual disease. "This is the act of a very angry ex-wife who has maligned him in the press," Crispo told Page Six. "He will be vindicated in the courts."

Shamsky, 67, was with the Mets from 1968 to 1971 and batted .300 during the team's 1969 world championship season. He also played with the Cincinnati Reds, Chicago Cubs and Oakland A's, and did play-by-play and color commentary for the Mets and hosted a talk show on WFAN. Last year, Shamsky was named manager of the Modi'in Miracle of the Israel Baseball League. The Shamskys, who married in 1994, were divorced last May.

New name on the blog roll. With Mustard.

Hey I added a new blog on the blog roll, The Mets Police written by dedicated Mets fans about the team in Flushing. It is a very well written and informative blog about those poor souls who are stupid enough to root for those perennial losers who play under the flight path of Laguardia airport. I enjoyed his work very much and you should give it a chance.

The poor bastard. A Mets fan. Ouch.

The Mets Can't even get their names right.

New York Post (November 22, 2008)

The Mets better not get too attached to the name Citi Field.

Team officials are said to be increasingly nervous as struggling Citigroup's stock continues to plummet - and potentially endangers their $20 million-a-year naming-rights deal for the new $850 million stadium.

Mets rep Jay Horwitz yesterday insisted, "There is no change in regard to Citi's commitment to the new ballpark."

But David Howard, the team's vice president of business affairs and main spokesman on the deal, for the first time deflected all questions back to Citigroup.

And the future doesn't look good for the financial giant.

Citigroup's stock woes are making it ripe for a takeover, and Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, HSBC and State Street Bank are already being talked about as potential buyers or merger partners.

The onetime banking titan closed at $3.77 yesterday, down 89 percent in the past year.
Despite its failing stock, Citigroup insists it will honor its record-shattering agreement to pay $20 million a year for 20 years for the honor of calling the ballpark Citi Field, where signs have already been made touting the name.

"We remain committed to the relationship to the Mets. They are an important part of our marketing priorities," said Citigroup spokesman Steve Silverman.

But if Citigroup is bought out, at least the stadium name would presumably change. Still, mega-bucks would in all likelihood be shelled out by the new company for the naming rights because of the prestige and recognition that such a high-profile stadium will bring, experts said.
Think "Goldman Sachs Diamond," "Morgan Stanley Stadium" or "HSBC Field."

Wow, if Citibank is in trouble we know it is a big deal. But you have to know that if you get invovled with the Mets you are tainted with their loserdom. What a mess.

Talking to Mets fans just makes me sad.

So I am in the bank yesterday making a wire transfer and the eager puppy bank guy wants to talk about the Yankees and the free agent market. Now the manager of the branch really is humorless and doesn't really know what he is doing so I try not to deal with him too much. The assistant manager is the one who knows what is going on. I had her come into the store and hooked her up with some sunglasses and a scarf as she is a size six so she doesn't fit into anything. When ever you are in a situation where you need something done you should always find out the person who knows what they are doing and bribe or tip them heavily. You know not the pretty waitress but the one who actually does the work. It might even be the food runner who can push your order through first. Or the guy who slices the meat at the deli counter instead of the owner of the shop. You know the important guy. But anyway the manager guy decides to jump into the conversation. And he is a big time Mets fan.

So we are talking and he's trying to tell me that the Mets are going to sign CC Sabathia over the Yankees. I just laughed in his face. I said dude "The Mets will never out spend the Yankees. The only reason they got Beltran and Santana is because the Yankees turned them down. Get Real." He got all huffy and pompous but all the other dudes who worked in the bank almost pissed their pants. I just hate talking to Mets fans. They have an incredably skewed view of their place in the ecosystem.

They think they are lions when they are really jackals. You can respect a Red Sox fan because lately since they have copied the Yankees and started spending money they have been winning. But the Mets. Please Louise. Give me a break.

I just have to make sure I only deal with the assistant manager. I don't want the manager to make any "mistakes."

Replay of the Super Bowl

THE WORLD CHAMPION NEW YORK GIANTS are playing the Baltimore Ravens in a reprise of the last Super Bowl we were in under Jim Fassel. Then the Ravens bitch slapped us and we slunk out of there with our tails between our legs. But it will be a different story tomorrow. They have a rookie quarter back so our defense will have to rattle him early. Also the Ravens have a great run defense so we might go to the air game quickly right out of the box. It should be a low scoring game and turnovers might have a lot to do with it. I hope Eli plays within himself. We should win.

It is interesting to think about that failed Superbowl. The interesting thing about it is that the Giants made it to the Super Bowl. The current hype surrounding the Jets just makes me laugh. They haven't gotten to the Superbowl since 1969. They are talking about how they will face the Giants in this years Superbowl when they barely beat an injury depleted Patriots team on Thursday.

The Jets are just like the Mets. They want credit for stuff they never did. If you listen to Mets fans, they will tell you that their team is better than the Phillies and that they should have one the world series. What a bunch of losers.

Thursday, October 30, 2008

Phillie's win, Mets blow.

Well the WORLD CHAMPION PHILADLEPHIA PHILLIES can celebrate winning the world series.
Congratulations to AJ and all the Phillie fans. And to Richie Ashburn and Tony Taylor and Larry Bowa and Mike Schmidt and Richie Allen and John Kruk and all the Phillies who played through out the years and didn't get to win a World Series.

The Met fans were out in full force on Sports Radio today refusing to give the Phillies their just due. One douche went on and on about how the Mets won the season series like that meant jack shit. The Phillies won it all and should enjoy the fruits of their victory.

Did I tell you lately that the Phillies won the World Series?
