The smart money is all on Crystal Boxershorts to win American Idol but I don't think that is going to happen. The favorites always lose in the end. The last favorite to go wire to wire was Carrie Underwood. The last few years it has been a surprise. So my money is on that Cape Cod cutie Siobhan Magnus to pull off the upset.

I don't like American Idol. The only great performers AI has produced are Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson.
I'm watching it this season, though, because I think Bowersox could be the third.
She has riffs and vocal qualities that remind me of a young Janis Joplin, and at times Joss Stone.
And that guy who sounds like a young Bob Seger, Lee DeWyze, is pretty damn good as well.
Ellen looks anorexic.
I think Lee'll be the upset. I agree with Troop about the apparent favorite; it's more about who can consolidate the votes at the end of the season. Crystal has her fans but I don't think she can attract the fans of the remaining contestants as well as Lee can. Plus, she's clearly the judges favorite and I think voters like to zig when the judges zag.
