@Chip: Murdoch was at the helm when she struck at 11:40 (not 11:00 as that letter alleges) just as he was supposed to be. The timing of events that night according to witnesses was complicated because she was moving longitudinally (moving east to west) through maritime time zones. Every night the ship's navigators would calculate how much to reset watches and clocks according to distance travelled this happened at midnight.
Smith probably did imbibe that night as was his expected custom. He really was expected to shmooze with the high rollers. But a gentleman in his day didn't overindulge.
The very best book I've ever read on the the disaster was Captain David Brown's Last Log of the Titanic.
The highlight of our annual trip to Disneyland this year was getting to pilot the "Mark Twain" riverboat. We had to ask/arrange for this in advance. I got to see the secret cabin where Walt used to take naps.
Did they have karaoke night onboard? We did that a couple years ago a Thanksgiving cruise from Long Beach to Ensenada and back. Turns out I like karaoke and people say I'm good at it. My favorites are old 60's baritone: Jimmy Dean's "Big John", Roger Miller's King of the Road,"
Troop, try Photobucket. You link the acct to your Android or iPhone (sorry doan no nuttin about no Win phones), install the free app and Voila!
The app auto uploads a copy to your online acct (with easy to use editing and resizing tools) and sends you an email link. You also get embed code for the blog.
Even my computer challenged Spousal Unit can upload pix from his droid...after I installed the app, of course.
My phone allows me to choose the size of the file when I save it - from the 6-8 pixels per picture that you select all the way up to the original many-megapixel original size. Look into, Baron, because your current system sucks worse than the Giants and Jets combined.
I hate Sarah Jessica Parker, Robin Williams, Tim Robbins, Susan Saradon, the BJ Hunnicut guy, brussel sprouts, the Boston Red Sox, commies and well, lawyers.

Say, that reminds me of something...
The captain of the Titanic was drunk when the liner hit an iceberg and sank, a newly unearthed document alleges.
Captain Edward Smith was apparently seen drinking in the saloon bar of the doomed ship in the run-up to the catastrophic collision.

Drunk or sober, he sank that bitch, that's for sure.
Then they were in some deep Schettino, to say the least.
Troop was drinking Klinghoffers from the looks of it.

They did have it but we never made it to the lounge. We did go to the disco and busted out our old Saturday Night Fever moves.
The cheap seats want to know: what's with the enduring focus problem?
I wouldn't be surprised if he hit the bar AFTER the iceberg encounter, but before the general panic.
You know, maybe we're using the wrong ship captain here. Maybe TY's more a Captain Aubrey type.
It's the pixels.
We take the photo's with a cell phone and email it to me.
But the photo has to be sent small and enlarged. This messes it up.
