She is not Chinese but you might think she was because of her name. Now a days she has gained a lot of weight and could almost be called puffy. But in her day she was a Hart stopper.

I am being consumed
By the time it takes to run two stores. I just haven't had the time to do much posting because I am in the front store running things while Lisa was in the back running the lingerie store. Formerly I was able to hang back in my office and I had time to blog here and there. But now I am busy from the beginning of the day until the end and we get home I am too beat to be very creative.
For example today we were interviewing models for our big photo shoot on Monday. Lisa had these girls trying on various outfits and we had to decide who we wanted to hire to be on our website and in other advertising that we are working on. Plus I had a bunch of on-line orders because we had a sale.
I miss when I had the time to post all day. But then I would waste a bunch of that time fighting with Lawnboy and Inga.
I leave that to other people these days. Enjoy.

Memories of Colombus Day's Past!
I remember Columbus Day's past. When everyone in the neighborhood want to the City to a big rally to celebrate our Italian Heritage. Where they had traditional Italian pursuits to recognize the achievements of the Italians in America. There were zeppolle stands and sausage and pepper carts and guys selling those little bull horns on a chain. And other tradtional pursuits.
Memories! Misty water colored memories of the way we were!

I am getting tired of reading about how these women are molesting their students
I mean it is all over the news. Of course that is how the media works. Lots of stuff is covered up and not reported. But once one outlet starts reporting it competitive forces make other outlets cover the same stories.
I only hear about the problems that the Catholic Church had with homosexual priests molesting young altar boys. Now we are starting to hear about the vast majority of these cases which are secular teachers molesting children in public schools. I hope I hear all the dipshits who love to attack the Church say the same thing about the unionized teachers who molest the children in their care.
But I won't hold my breath.

Congratulations to Nick on his KC Royals kicking ass in the playoffs.
As a Yankee fan I have very fond memories of the Royals even though they cheated in the pine tar game.
I will be rooting for them throughout the playoffs.

Chained to a desk is no way to live.....
This is the view from the desk in the new store. I am not chained there. I am chained to the desk in the front where I have to deal with everything as it comes in through the door. I am used to being more of a free agent able to wander and fix stuff. It can be tough.
I spent all day yesterday counting and labeling panties.
Somehow I never thought that was how my life was going to end up.

If you have very expensive Lemons......
Don't buy them. Don't make very expensive lemonade.
I drink Lemon water now. No wine. No beer. No cocktails. Just lemons squeezed into Smart water with a lot of ice and some Stevia for sweetness. It is actually not bad. Sort of like lemonade but without all the sugar. It is a great diuretic and makes me piss like a race horse.
So I buy a lot of fucking lemons. When I saw that sign in Gourmet Fresh I went nuts. I went on a rant about how the hell can they charge so much for a freaking lemon. Now normally the big lemons are 99cents each. So I misread the sign and thought it was $3.99 a lemon. Still that is pretty fucking expensive for a fucking lemon. Shit.

NY Daily News October 8, 2014
A goat that was sacrificed for the Muslim holiday Eid al-Adha killed a 13-year-old boy when it jumped off a building in Turkey.
The boy’s father, identified only as Mehmet by the UK Mirror, had bought the goat to celebrate the Feast of the Sacrifice but didn’t have room to keep it in the apartment, so he brought it up to the roof.
The skittish animal, in an effort to escape, jumped off the roof and fell six floors, smashing into the boy, Heval Yildirim.
The young boy was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital.
His father was despondent, but didn’t elaborate on his son’s death.
“I am devastated but what more can I say?” he said, according to the Mirror. “In fact, there is nothing at all to say. Even the prosecutor has said this incident could be the first of its kind around the world.”
Authorities are investigating the incident.
The Feast of the Sacrifice, celebrated by Muslims around the world, honors the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his promised son, Ishmael, to God before a lamb is provided to sacrifice instead.
The animal is usually cut up into three parts — one-third for family, one-third for friends and the rest for the poor.
Some guys are just gluttons for punishment!
I mean it is pretty funny.

The Pajama Boys and the Bearded Ladies are Winning.....Only the WNBA is safe.
SAYREVILLE, N.J. (AP) — Officials at a central New Jersey high school that has won three sectional titles over the past four years canceled the football season amid allegations of harassment, intimidation and bullying among players.
Sayreville school officials made the announcement Monday night during a meeting with the players’ parents. The district already had canceled and forfeited a game that was scheduled last Thursday between Sayreville War Memorial and South Brunswick, and announced that the Middlesex County prosecutor’s office was investigating the allegations.
“There was enough evidence that there were incidents of harassment, of intimidation and bullying that took place on a pervasive level, on a wide-scale level and at a level at which the players knew, tolerated and generally accepted,” Superintendent Richard Labbe told reporters Monday night. “Based upon what has been substantiated to have occurred, we have canceled the remainder of the football season. Bullying or even the threat of bulling in a football environment is cause enough to end the sport of football.” Weeping softly at the press conference Labbe demanded "Have we learned nothing from Richie Incognito and all the rest of the mean nasty people who play football."
Labbe said he could not discuss the investigation, and the prosecutor’s office has declined to release any details. No charges have been filed. Labbe said Prosecutor Andrew Carey told him there is credible evidence to back up the allegations of bullying and harassment within the program. But they will not tell anyone anything or prove anything because the fact that they play a heteronormative brand of football is reason enough to ban it.
Also last week, an assistant football coach at the high school resigned amid allegations that he possessed steroids. Labbe said at the time that the allegations against the former defensive coordinator were the focus of a separate investigation and were not related to the cancellation of last week’s game.
De Balsio's wife has a chief of staff who is banging a murderer. Nothing to see here.
New York DAILY NEWS, October 7, 2014
For Mayor de Blasio, a public official’s family and loved ones are entitled to privacy — unless they are needed for campaigning.
The mayor, who prominently featured his family in campaign ads while running for office last year, criticized the press Monday for “going too far” in reporting on the private life of a top City Hall aide. Rachel Noerdlinger, chief of staff to New York’s First Lady Chirlane McCray, has been under fire following a report last month that she is dating an ex-con who did time for manslaughter and has publicly referred to police officers as “pigs.”
Speaking at a news conference in Staten Island, de Blasio called Noerdlinger a “good public servant” and argued it’s time for the media to stop harping on her private life. “With all due respect to all of you and the job you have to do, this notion of let’s talk about people’s boyfriends, let’s talk about their children, it’s just going too far,” he told reporters. "Who do you expect her to date. A white guy. What are you racists. If she is going to date an African American of course he is going to have a record you racists."
Asked about the recent revelation that Noerdlinger failed to mention her boyfriend during a Department of Investigation background check, the mayor said she never intended to lie. “There was no effort to deceive,” he said. “I have absolute faith in her ability to serve the people of this city. I also await the awarding of reperations that I am entitled to due to my marriage to Weezy .....err..... Chirlaine. Case closed.”
You never know what is happening....At least I don't
When we watch television we search out cute little shows without a lot of gore and violence. Since we refuse to watch serial killer, CSI type shows our viewing options are limited. Don't get me wrong. I like some gore and violence fests like "Justified", "Sons of Anarchy" and "The Bridge" but your run of your mill torture porn shows like "The Black List" and "Criminal Minds" leave us cold. I mean they are not well done and the plots are really predictable.
We search out some odd little shows on Net Flicks and Amazon Prime which is the future of television. You can catch new shows from all over the world as well as old favorites like "Adam-12" and "Dragnet." So if you want to watch a show without violence and gore right before you go to sleep you have a lot to choose from on these platforms.
Lately we have been watching this odd little show called "Life Unexpected" about a kid who was put up for adoption by a high school mom but shows up 16 years later and the family is reunited. It is surprising because of some of the themes. In it the girl has an affair with her teacher which seems a little out there for a family type show. This show was broadcast on the CW which has a bunch of other family friendly shows like "Hart of Dixie."
The CW is a joint venture of CBS and Time Warner that united two failed attempts at starting a network in the WB and UPN. These had a bunch of "family friendly" shows of which the granddaddy and most popular was "Seventh Heaven."
"Seventh Heaven" was a show about a minister and his large brood of children who got in hi jinks and trouble that were solved by love and Christian Values. It was notable for the actors who included Jessica Biel who went on to movie stardom. It was anchored by reliable character actor Stephen Collins. Who is in a lot of trouble.
It seems he is going through a divorce and his wife had taped him "confessing" to some sexual abuse of minors from many years ago. Supposedly he exposed himself to several young girls and another woman has come forward to claim he touched her inappropriately when she was a young teenager and he was around 23. Exactly the situation in "Life Unexpected." Now this will come to a court proceeding where the facts will come out one way or another. But it seem eerie that the fictional activities of some characters happened in real life. Why would the people who write that show think it was ok to use that as a plot line. I mean I am sure they will be after Collins along with all of the usual suspects. Remember that this tape comes from an estranged wife who is looking for a payday. But it is still a stark reminder of reality.
I just don't know anymore.

The former manager of Jenn Sterger, the ex-New York Jets hostess who allegedly received nude pictures and racy voicemails from Brett Favre, has penned a damning account of how the NFL conducts its investigations.
In light of the recent Ray Rice scandal, Phil Reese wrote an opinion piece on the 2010 Favre allegations and the NFL’s investigation, saying, “Just like Brett Favre’s penis (allegedly), it wasn’t pretty. But unlike Brett Favre’s penis (allegedly), it was extremely long. It also did not have Aaron Rodgers teeth marks on it as has been alleged.” The married Favre admitted leaving voice mails, but denied sending naked pictures.
Reese said he was hounded by NFL investigators who wanted to speak to Sterger. "The NFL representatives were determined to root out heterosexuality and rebuild the league under feminist politically correct principals. Having a penis and being interested in girls had fallen out of favor with the league."
They met at his apartment, where “grown men in suits sat around my kitchen table and stared at pictures of Brett Favre’s penis (allegedly). The heads of NFL security sat through hours of testimony and sifted through countless documents that were compiled in a three-ring binder with the help from our FBI forensics expert.”

VATICAN CITY — Pope Francis, cardinals and bishops from around the world have gotten an unexpected lecture on the joys of sex, from a Catholic couple brought in to talk about what makes a marriage last.
Ron and Mavis Pirola, parents of four from Sydney, Australia, told a Vatican gathering of some 200 prelates that sexual attraction brought them together 57 years ago and that sex has helped keep them married for 55 years.
“The little things we did for each other, the telephone calls and love notes, the way we planned our day around each other and the things we shared were outward expressions of our longing to be intimate with each other,” the couple said in a joint statement to the closed meeting late Monday.
“Gradually we came to see that the only feature that distinguishes our sacramental relationship from that of any other good Christ-centered relationship is sexual intimacy, and that marriage is a sexual sacrament with its fullest expression in sexual intercourse.”
The audience of celibate men was a bit taken aback.
“That’s not what we bishops talk about mostly, quite honestly,” a sheepish British Cardinal Vincent Nichols told reporters Tuesday. “But to hear that as the opening contribution did, I think, open an area … and it was a recognition that that is central to the well-being of marriage often.”
Francis called the two-week meeting of bishops to try to figure out how to make church teaching on a host of Catholic family issues — marriage, divorce, homosexuality and yes, sex — more relevant to today’s Catholics. The debate will continue in October, 2015, and culminate when Francis issues a final document with recommendations offered by the synod.
Several of the bishops complained that the Vatican’s own teachings on sexual matters are often impenetrable to ordinary people. The Vatican’s main document on sex, the 1968 encyclical Humanae Vitae, lays out the church’s opposition to artificial contraception with complicated moral theological arguments and 41 footnotes.
The Pirolas told the gathering that they occasionally read church documents on family matters, “but they seemed to be from another planet, with difficult language and not terribly relevant to our own experiences.”
The Rev. Tom Rosica, a Vatican spokesman, said several bishops argued that the church had to find a “new language” to both explain its teaching and invite people in.
“Language such as ‘living in sin,’ ‘intrinsically disordered’ or ‘contraceptive mentality’ are not necessarily words that invite people to draw closer to Christ and the church,” he said, citing one intervention.
Many observers have credited Francis with drawing people closer to the church precisely because of the simplicity of his language, compared to the dense theological treatises often laid out by his predecessor, Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI, who as a cardinal was responsible for penning many of the Vatican’s major documents on hot-button issues, including homosexuality.
The Vatican hand-picked the Pirolas and other model Catholic couples to participate in the synod to give bishops a sense of what real live Catholic families go through and proposals for how the church can help support them. Their intervention showed just how different a synod this is with Francis and his message of welcome running the show.
The Pirolas told the story of how devout Catholic friends reacted when their gay son wanted to bring his partner home to a Christmas gathering.
“They fully believed in the church’s teachings and they knew their grandchildren would see them welcome the son and his partner into the family,” they said. “Their response could be summed up in three words: ‘He’s our son.'”
Nichols said the synod gave them a round of applause.
In an indication, though, that opposition to such a welcoming position remains high, a group of conservative Catholic groups blasted the Pirola’s example as “damaging” to the church.
“The unqualified welcome of homosexual couples into family and parish environments in fact damages everybody, by serving to normalize the disorder of homosexuality,” said Maria Madise, coordinator of Voice of the Family in a statement.
John Smeaton, of the London-based Society for the Protection of Unborn Children, said the welcome that the Pirolas’ statement received from the synod was disturbing.
“The homosexual agenda is forcing its way into schools, universities, workplaces and sports clubs,” he said in a statement. “The last thing families and parishes need is for church leaders to tell them to welcome homosexual couples.”

TMZ reports that Bravo is paying the couple $325,000 to sit down with “Watch What Happens Live” host Andy Cohen on Monday night.

TMZ reports that Bravo is paying the couple $325,000 to sit down with “Watch What Happens Live” host Andy Cohen on Monday night.
The website claims the home of the “Housewives” offered $275,000 for Teresa and $50,000 for Joe. As part of their sentencing, they each owe $414,588 in restitution.
But Page Six has learned that the number is inaccurate and a rep for Bravo declined to confirm the report.
In a teaser clip for the interview, the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star, 42, tells Cohen, “I was so nervous, I was shaking. My nerves were shot. I’ve had sleepless nights. I was shocked. It was very unexpected. I don’t know what to say.”
Teresa will surrender on Jan. 5 and will spend 15 months in prison. When she is released, her husband, Joe, 42, will then head to prison for his 41-month sentence.
The interview airs on Monday at 9 p.m.
“The network won’t be commenting and never does when it comes to salaries,” a spokesperson for the network said.
Whose that girl
She was most famous playing a Mom or perhaps due to her famous voice over work in one big time hit movie of the 1970's.
Her name is easy to remember. It was what all of youse guys were looking for in high school.
Whose that girl?
I am just really, really busy
Having two stores is taking up a lot more of my time than I thought it would. What is happening is that Lisa is in the back store dealing with the new lingerie customers and I am sitting behind the counter dealing with our regular customers. So I don't have any time to blog during the day and I am too exhausted to do it at night.
What is really distressing me is that I have to put my writing project on hold as I haven't had time to work on it for more than a month. That really sucks.

Impractical Jokers - Supermarket Balloon Assault
Here is a really funny thing about this episode. It was filmed in the Fairway in Red Hook and the last woman was one of our customers!
Does my Jumpsuit match my Spray Tan?
Theresa and Joe Giudice got sentenced yesterday on their bankruptcy fraud that has been hanging over their heads for the past three seasons. Theresa got 14 months and Joe around 42 plus he will be deported back to Italy because he is not a citizen.
Theresa goes to the joint first to serve her sentence so I guess she will not be on the show next season. She starts her sentence in January. Her four daughters will certainly miss her. You don't want to see anybody get incarcerated unless they are a violent felon. But they pissed off the judge because they continually tried to hid their assets from the court so she slapped them pretty hard.
It has been a tough week for bimbo housewives in front of the court.

Real Housewives are weird.
So Bethanny the Bitch is going through a big divorce with the mope she chose as a sperm donor and reality show prop. People who follow these shows take sides and you can find posts with hundreds of comments advocating for both sides.
But everyone is united in deploring one thing. Bethanny recently posted a instagram where she put on her four year old daughters pajamas and pretty much everyone was horrified. Now this bimbo made a career out of being skinny. Her "Skinny Girl" margarita sold out their company to Jim Beam for many millions. Her reality show led to her being a multi-millionaire which is pretty unique for the genre. Nobody made as much as her as she had three other spin-offs including a failed talk show.
Anyway the judge handling the divorce told her not to do this again or there would be consequences.
Skinny people are just freaking weird.

Feathers flew in Brooklyn when an animal-rights zealot tried to bust up a Jewish religious ritual by stealing a coop full of chickens about to be ceremonially swung in the air and then slaughtered, sources said.
Rh Hardin 59, allegedly swiped the birds from a crate on 50th Street in Borough Park Sunday as they were being held for a celebration of kapparot, in which the birds would be waved over people’s heads as part of a ritualistic transfer of sins.
Wearing a T-shirt enscribed with “Mercy for Animals,” Hardin shoved the fowl into the back of his SUV and tried to fly the coop. He didn’t get far.
Cops and members of the Shomrim civilian patrol caught up to him after about two blocks, and he was arrested and charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. Although he waved a scythe around and tried to hold them off he was still apprehended by alert police offices who put him a choke hold. Several chickens escaped but were also choked to be brought under control
Hardin's supporters insisted he wasn’t a common poultry thief — he was a heroic chicken fancier trying to stop a yearly ritual that animal-rights activists despise. He just really, really loves chickens.
“This is cruelty in and of itself,” said Karen Davis, president of the Virginia-based United Poultry Concerns.
She said that, despite kapparot participants claiming the birds are treated well and the carcasses given to the poor, the manner in which the birds are swung and butchered is not up to humane standards.
“You cannot just set up a slaughter facility however makeshift on the city streets,” Davis said.
Ricpic, a Borough Park resident who bought several chickens for his family at the event, said he understood the cultural disagreements but that was no excuse to steal.
“If you’re an animal activist, why steal chickens?” He said. “Why not go to all the supermarkets that have lobster tanks and steal the lobsters. We don’t condone animal abuse. Why didn't the Shemdrake go off and steal the pigs they roast whole at that Barbecue place on Atlantic Avenue?”
Hardin could not be reached for comment.
Every year, thousands of chickens in Brooklyn and beyond are sacrificed as part of a ceremony practiced by some Hasidic sects at around the time of the High Holidays. Kapparot is the Hebrew word for “atonement,” according to Jewishmag.com.

The Return of the Douche Bag
My dear
Holmes,
It is your most humble petitioner, Inspector Lestrade. As you will no doubt remember it has been many years since I have last requested your assistance in the troubling matter of the disappearance of Lord Douchebag and over a year since we examined the obscene affairs of the odious Lady Chatterley and her grass stained lover. Today I must regretfully opportune regarding another most distressing matter.
I contact
you today with a request that at first blush might seem unusual. It seems that
our undercover agent in the Salon of the odious Lady Chatterley reports some
disturbing information that we must take cognizance of if we are to protect our
sainted shores. As you are aware the erstwhile enigmatic correspondent Lady
Chatterley lives on a farm noted for debris and debauchery. Sad reminders of
prior bacchanalia are strewn about. Empty liquor bottles. Female undergarments.
Dog feces. Rot.
Amongst
all of this dross there is in fact one sign of positive life. A warren of
rabbits has taken up residence in said garden. The population ebbs and flows.
Occasionally the harridan loses her composure and traipse into the garden to
attack the poor rabbits and beat them about the head and neck and chase them
out of the garden. At one point she had totally emptied the warren of all of
its inhabitants. But rabbits are a doughty if dim breed and they seem to enjoy
punishment. So many have returned to take the abuse and calumny heaped upon
their furry heads. In this they are nurtured by the waspish woman’s concubine
the underemployed gardener who tends to the rabbits when not servicing his
mistress or grooming her rather unusually hairy feet. Normally this would not
be a matter for our concern but a new element has emerged that forces us to
take notice.
It
seems another rabbit has been introduced to the warren and it has proceeded to
dominate the farm and the surrounding woods to the point that it would drive
out all of the native fauna to the detriment of the land. Black in color with
matted fur and unusual stench as if it was comprised of unwashed fecal matter
this rodent originates in Africa. I would ask that you intervene to say our
Majesty’s forest. We will term this the Case of the Jungle Bunny.
I await
your response as to this distasteful matter.
My best
to your estimable roommate Dr. Watson who I have heard is under the weather due
to a recurrence of his piles. I would remind him that the best remedy to avoid further
attacks of this malady is to avoid spicy foods and your brother Mycroft.
I remain as always,
Your obedient servant,
Inspector G. Lestrade

Coach Lombardi didn't come to practice today. Norm Hecker ran the drills while the Coach was busy in the film room. You see the Packers were one of the first teams to use film extensively in the game preparation. Which was all because of our video coordinator Bob Crane.
Yes that Bob Crane. Long before he was the star of "Hogan's Hero's Bob was a radio disc jockey in Madison Wisconsin but in his spare time he would film practice and our home games. Coach Lombardi spent a lot of time with him going over the film. Or at least I think it was the films of the game. They would spend hours behind locked doors and when they would bring the rest of in there would only be a few brief snippet to watch.
And the table would always be sticky.

A white Ohio woman is suing a sperm bank, claiming that she was accidentally inseminated with vials from a black donor.
In the lawsuit, Jennifer Cramblett claims the lab mix-up has caused her and her partner added stress and anxiety as they struggle to raise their 2-year-old biracial daughter, Payton, in their “racially intolerant” community of Uniontown, Ohio, the Chicago Tribune reported.
The lawsuit, filed Monday in Cook County Circuit Court, alleges that Midwest Sperm Bank gave her the vials of an African-American donor’s sperm in September 2011, even though she and her partner had picked out sperm from a white donor.
The lawsuit says they received vials from African-American donor No. 330, instead of sperm from white donor No. 380. The mix-up occurred because the hospital keeps handwritten records, which were likely misread, the lawsuit alleges.
Cramblett, 36, didn’t know about the error until she was already pregnant in April 2012 and decided to order more vials from the same donor, so she could have another child with her partner. She called up the sperm bank and was informed that the vials she received earlier were from a different donor than the one they had requested.
She’s now suing the sperm bank for wrongful birth and breach of warranty because of the “emotional distress” and “economic and non-economic losses” she’s endured.
“On August 21, 2012, Jennifer gave birth to Payton, a beautiful, obviously mixed-race baby girl,” the lawsuit states. “Jennifer bonded with Payton easily and she and Amanda love her very much. Even so, Jennifer lives each day with fears, anxieties and uncertainty about her future and Payton’s future.”
Many of these fears stem from the fact that Payton is growing up in an intolerant neighborhood with an all-white family, the lawsuit says.
“Because of this background and upbringing, Jennifer acknowledges her limited cultural competency relative to African-Americans and steep learning curve, particularly in small, homogenous Uniontown, which she regards as too racially intolerant,” the lawsuit states.
The mother also complains that in order to get her daughter’s hair cut, she has to travel to a black neighborhood, “where she is obviously different in appearance, and not overtly welcome.”
She’s also worried that her biracial daughter will feel stigmatized around her “all white and unconsciously insensitive family. Also her daughter has begun to demand reperations and has started on a baby rap career."

More than 900 chickens at a California farm were beaten to death with a golf club last month, The Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday.
The gruesome scene was discovered Sept. 20 at the Foster Farms chicken shed in Fresno. Authorities believe at least one person broke into the farm and slaughtered 920 chickens.
“Whoever did something like this is pretty sick,” Deputy Chris Curtis told the paper. “It would take a long time to do it … People should be alarmed at something like that.”
Police believe the intruder or intruders gained entry to the farm after bending back the protective fence. A engineer and blog commenter who goes by the name rh hardin is considered a person of interest and is being sought by authorities. The farm is offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest.

The team celebrated today because we won our first game. We kicked the Lions ass. Which isn't that hard to do. They were never really any good. Their defense sucks and Mitt Plum just was a loser. Everyone knows anybody named Mitt is a loser. They should have went with Earl Morrall but the coach didn't like him very much.
So we all celebrated the way we like to do when we win a big game. "The Golden Boy" convinced a couple of rookies to take a whirlpool with him. Willie Davis snorted some coke. Max and Boyd drank some white lighting and burned a little cross in Elijah Pitts locker.
Oh and Coach put on his tight stretch pants and stood next to Jim Taylor when he wasn't wearing any underwear.
We all have our rituals.

Tales from Amy's Garden
Hazel: You are finally back Kehaar. Thank you for
scouting over the heather. We need to know what is happening but it is too
dangerous for us to send out the Owlsa. Did you find anything on your flight?
Kehaar: Nothing
matey! Nuthing you would care about Mr. Hazel.
Hazel: Did
you fly over the old warren? How are they doing over there?
Kehaar: Many
rabbits. Too many rabbits. All of them fighting. But not like old days. Now all
fight with nasty black crow. He pecks and he pecks at their eyes and they all
get very angry. Everything seems to be
about the crow.
Holly: I am
not surprised. It was always an evil place. A place where the black crows will
go to take over and destroy everything. Like Detroit.
Bigwig: What
do you mean?
Holly: [shows
Bigwig the scar on his stomach] You see this? They did it to me. I was minding my own business when a bunch of
crows went on a riot. They attacked everyone in a flock. There was nothing you
could do. They were all angry because a farmer shot a crow who was stealing his
corn. The crows claim the corn belonged to them. They didn’t plant it. They
didn’t weed it. They didn’t harvest it. But they still claimed it was theirs.
And that the farmer was a murderer because he tried to stop them from stealing.
Plus they said I was a Jew. I don’t even know what that means.
Bigwig: What
do you mean? What is a Jew?
Holly: I don’t
know but it must be bad. They kept calling me that while they pecked at me.
They tried to destroy everything. Then even destroyed their own nests. Why
would they foul their own nests when they are angry. Crows are very strange.
They are their own worst enemy.
Bigwig: It
sounds like the old warren is even worse than it ever was before. I am glad we all
left. What else did you see Kehaar?
Kehaaar: Many
other things. There is a new warren not so far from here. Many of the rabbits
have gone over there. Even some of your own Mr. Hazel. They hop from here to
there. Over the highway. It is strange.
The farmer is not like the crazy old lady who owned the old warren. He seems
very nice. If wimpy. Like a balloon
without enough air. But he strict. Throw you overboard if you say wrong thing.
He want all rabbits to play nice. Before he eats them.
Holly: That
is the thing with farmers. You can’t trust them. They will turn on you.
Sliver: I am
glad we are in our own place.
Holly: Me
too. I just wonder who owns this land.
Hazel: Thank
the great Lord El-ahrairah that this farm is owned by that fat man who is
worried about his own concerns. He doesn’t worry about what the rabbits say or
do. He is just trying to get a sandwich and look at woman’s teats. In fact I
think that is his job.
Holly: Plus
he doesn’t like rabbit. Only cow.
Hazel: I
know. That is a good thing. We are very lucky.
