Problems of a shopkeeper

We were really depressed after we went to the show last week. Almost all of the vendors who make plus clothing are not making clothing for the fall or the holiday season. You have to put in the orders well in advance so they can make a cutting ticket and make the clothes. There is at least a 30 day turnover.

We have been making our own clothes but the key problem is fabrics. So now we are going to dye and design our own fabrics as well. This is a big step as you have to guess right. It is not economical to dye a small amount so we have to make bigger lots. Most dresses take about 3 yards. Normally we would find a great fabric and buy about 200 yards and make 60 dresses.
But now when we are making it we need to made about 500 yards which translates to 166 dresses. 100 more. That is kind of scary.

But soon we will be the only game in town more or less so we have to suck it up and do it.
