Well I'm off to the airport in a few minutes to pick up my mom and stepfather so I don't/won't have much time. Anyways that's a great story from Haz. And Troop you should know that your Father's Day tradition that you started last year was what inspired me to do a couple series on my own blog: "Letters Home", "Revisiting Highway 61", and the upcoming "Rollin' Down Highway 41". My mother is bringing out some archive material for the latter.
Happy Father's Day Troop!
I'll be back later.
I love those series especially the ones with the scuba diving memories.
Happy Fathers Day!
I second Trooper. That is a great series. Some very nice blogging. Thanks!
When I turned 21 I was stationed in England- exactly where will remain secret (at least until I check the Statute of Limitations on a few things)- and a few days before my birthday I recieved a package from my Dad marked' Do No Open Until January 19'.
I figured it wsa a birthday present; and it was.
A 6-pack of Weidemann Beer and a letter. I still have the letter. The 6-pack I drank.
The letter was full of all teh infomration Dad wanted to tell me on my 21st birthday, if I hadn't been 5800 miles away.
Nothing much here. I got to make blueberry pancakes with real maple syrup for my granddaughers...resplendit in whipped creame out of one of those cans but actually pretty darn good.
for dinner last night we cooked outside at my daughter's house and made S-mores with the kids in one of those fire pits. fog came in right on cue and the moon was scary to them so we had to go inside.
How can it be better. Just how can it be?
Thanks for the space TY.
Thanks for sharing guys.
