My brother was a chef for 20 years on the Cape and Boston. It's not glamorous, it's tough work that often leads to alcoholism. So..appreciate your chefs.

He sort of looks like this guy.

ndspinelli, I love Bourdain's Kitchen Confidential description of his first job in a restaurant on the Cape. When he sees the chef boning a bride behind the restaurant where she is having her reception he declares to himself: "I am going to be a chef!"

Great book! I used to eat in the restaurant when I was younger.

I've often wondered why Benzali left Murder One after its first season. It was the role of a lifetime and he really made that show, which collapsed without him.

Benzali Pursues Film Career
November 16, 1996
QUESTION: Why is the actor who played Ted Hoffman on Murder One (9 p.m. Thursdays on WFTV-Channel 9) no longer in the show? Quit? Fired? Ill? J.E., Seminole.ANSWER: The scoop is that Daniel Benzali, who played the central lawyer character in the show's first season, clashed with creator Steven Bochco on how his character was developing. But Benzali's people maintain he left the show on his own to pursue a film career - he's currently filming Murder at 1600 with Orlando's own Wesley Snipes.

Well that film career did not exactly pan out, did it.

I may have located the source of the problem here.

Chip S., that sure ain't marinara sauce!

Chip S. said...

Maybe on the way in it was....

But I suppose pasta e fagioli is the more likely culprit.

I blame it on italian fennel.

Evi L. Bloggerlady said...

pasta e fagioli and Italian fennel never did that to me...

Must be the multiple stomachs.

It doesn't pay to take the spinelli's "better out than in" advice too literally, especially not after the major blow hole's been tampered with.

Chip S. said...

true.

spinelli's advice doesn't apply to belly buttons, either, IMO.

I see that it's Tedious Thursday over at TOP.

Not to be confused with Tedious Tuesday earlier this week.

They need to raise their game. And a game it is.

Meanwhile in my office, we've all shed our clothes are are dancing in the rain.

Evi L. Bloggerlady said...

Michael, are you listening to Randy Travis too?

Yeah Michael I saw that, she's off her game this week, that's for sure. Looks like her commentariat is staging a rebellion.

Dancing in the rain naked, ok I want to work in your office:)

That stain is probably to big to be a "shart."

I saw your disagreement over there, Allie. Althouse has been fighing that perception for years--about why she cares so deeply about GBLT issues.

I got irritated the other day when she deleted a comment of mine merely because I had cut a pasted her phrase but then made another (IMO) valid point. I think that she or Meade must use "control find" to find key words like she does in Kindle searches--then she deletes. This will likely embarrass her one day when she deletes something of real substance.

It just seems strange to me to deny caring so deeply about the gay issue because your own son is gay. What's so wrong with that in her view? It would show she is human and maternal, she is so cold. Nothing wrong with caring about issues that affect you personally, she's not a politician, why would she care if she had some bias?

I guess she wants to appear to have superior motives at all costs.

Also teaching her flock about God's motives is just ridiculous, why should anyone believe her version of God's words anymore than say Fen or Jay? I think PaddyO is the most reasonable and knowledgeable commenter on that thread.

There is no shame with either my doppelgänger or her lawn boy.

Well said Allie. You reminded me of this.

Could you imagine growing up with her as your mom?

EBL, I love your irreverence!

EBL, At least she didn't have a daughter. Think how it would have been for that poor girl.

Anonymous said...

Nick you are so right, I hate to say this, but I think that she may have been the kind that resents the attention her own daughter would get, especially of she were more beautiful physically and emotionally than her mother.

I may be being unfair to her, but that's my impression.

Damn Allie, You nailed it! Speaking truth is ALWAYS being fair. One can't know for certain but what you desrcibed is almost certainly the most likely scenario.

I was watching mens diving tonight. Jesus Christ, it is a total gay porno. They are wearing nothing, they dive, then take a dip in the hot tub, and then shower off.

They are completely shaved too. I am curious as to the shaving process. Do they do it themselves or does some "professional" do this? There needs to be a "behind the scenes clip" with Bob Costa investigating and explaining the shaving process.

I did have a crush on Greg Looseanus when he won.

tits.
