THHHEEERRREEEE BBBAAAACCCKKKK!!!

Yes we decided to take another couple of days at Seatuck. We need to relax and chill out a little because we were running on empty.

Spent the day by the pool relaxing and reading our Kindles.

So try not to get along.

Anonymous said...

Chip, I listen to all who have something to say. I don't accept everything from anyone. I don't think I am better judge of right and wrong than most people, nor do I negate my own instincts and life experiences when I recognize that some things that good, decent and intelligent people say are just plain wrong and misguided.

We all have to live in out own skins and be true to our core beliefs Chip. My thoughts, political and other ways are never stagnant, I'm open to new thought, some would say too much so.

The paragraph that Chickie quoted was mine in this thread

here at 11:36

I don't expect any of you to be who you aren't, we all have core beliefs, none of which are always completely right or completely wrong. I love and respect my son in law and daughter, doesn't mean I have to agree with every aspect of their political philosophy. I'm certain they still love me, and my two other daughters and son, despite our liberal leanings.

Darcy the conservatives didn't HAVE the hook to rescue the man, not that they wouldn't have the empathy to use the hook if they HAD that hook. The stinginess part was not buying the hook to begin with, because hey had an unrealistic expectation that everyone at the park would be responsible.

chickelit said...

@Allie, I thought you'd appreciate that.

Dust Bunny Queen said...

The stinginess part was not buying the hook to begin with, because hey had an unrealistic expectation that everyone at the park would be responsible.

What is unrealistic about expecting people to obey the rules or take the consequences. I guess you think we should foresee every stupid thing that someone might do, spend thousands of dollars just in case that one moron decides to commit suicide by stupidity?

Instead of spending the TAXPAYER dollars to the benefit of the majority, instead of all of it on the Darwin reject.

We wouldn't need the 'hook' if the dope paid attention to the rules.

blake said...

I'm not gonna pile on you, Allie, at least not that way.

But I'm curious about this:

I don't think I am better judge of right and wrong than most people,

The entire premise of progressivism-cum-statism is that there ARE better judges, that they WILL be elected, and that they WILL, impartially and without regard to their own concerns, be best able to decide for others.

I can't reconcile that with your statement.

Chip S. said...

Allie, I was referring to your comment in the thread you directed us to, about the Dragon's Mouth.

But since you've linked to another of your quotes, let's talk about it:

Limbaugh's world is a selfish hard place

Are you unaware of Rush's efforts on behalf of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society? This year he gave $400,000 himself, and his greedy, selfish, Randroid listeners contributed $3 million in total. Same thing in 2011, with Rush giving $500,000 personally.

Oh, and heartless Mitt Romney gave 15% of his income to charity in 2010. Our President With a Heart gave a whopping 1%.

This has nothing to do with you and I having different views. This is a matter of slandering people you disagree with.

windbag said...

I don't give a flying fuck about anything said over at TOP, but on the issue of Dems versus Repubs and philanthropy, Chip is right. Study after study after study demonstrates the truth that Dems are selfish compared to Repubs.

Anecdotal evidence: In the 2004 election season we were visiting my bro-in-law over Halloween. We all went out trick-or-treating in their very affluent neighborhood. The houses with Bush signs were giving out multiple pieces of candy, full-sized candy bars, and 9mm Glocks (okay, I made that up).

Most (maybe all...memory ain't what it used to be) of the houses with Kerry signs had no lights on and wouldn't answer the door. My bro-in-law and I entertained ourselves by yelling, "Open up and let us help you redistribute the wealth!" at all the Dem households.

Dems and libs are selfish children. "Sharing" other people's stuff isn't sharing at all. It's stealing. It goes beyond the basic functions of government when taxation is used to punish productivity and reward slothfulness.

Chip, the quote that was used by Chickie in the Dragons Mouth thread was from my comment that I just linked to. Did I slander Rush Limbaugh? Or did I express my opinion of him based on what I've heard him say on the radio?

I never mentioned Romney or Ryan Chip.

It good of Rush to contribute to charities, but by his own words he would not be averse to letting the dumbasses of our society drag their kids into harms way without any safety net, for those innocent of dumbassery.

Sometimes life happens to innocent people who by no fault of their own need society to come to their rescue, sometimes undeserving people get rescued too, we can do better.

Ah well, we've been through all this before.

windbag said...

DBQ: I guess you think we should foresee every stupid thing that someone might do, spend thousands of dollars just in case that one moron decides to commit suicide by stupidity?

A woman asked to “speak to the owner” the other day in my popsicle stand. I recognized her immediately. She’s been a fairly regular customer over the years. She is a tutor in my kids’ school.

She’s an idiot.

I went over and she told me that a post in my parking lot needed to be covered with rubber, because it scratched her truck when she hit it. That’s right, she hit a stationary object with her vehicle, and it’s my fault that her truck got damaged. So many things ran through my head that I could have said, including thanking her for letting me know who to tell the police to contact about the vandalism to my property. I did the gracious thing and thanked her for letting me know about the situation.

My property tax dollars pay this idiot’s salary. Why can’t I get a refund?

She displayed the liberal, childish mindset perfectly. The world is inherently dangerous, so we have to cover everything in rubber and round every corner, so that no one gets hurt. Ignore personal responsibility, and the need to exercise common sense, as we navigate our way through each day. Someone, somewhere, somehow, needs to make a law, put up a sign, cover a sharp edge, barricade a potential hazard, or some other measure to save us from hurting ourselves.

That’s a dim view of humanity. That’s the liberal perspective. Yet they’re the respectful, kind, loving, comapssionate ones, according to the MSM.

Progressives are the modern word for liberals. And yes, they do think they know better than everyone else, which is why they push for centralized planning. Confiscate as much property as possible from the people, decide who is going to be a winner and who is going to be a loser, and redistribute the loot accordingly, taking your share in the process.

Blake may define it another way, so I'm not pretending to speak in his behalf.

They don't have a guest room. I'm thinking to stay in Mill Valley and drive over the Golden Gate Bridge. It's only about 15 miles.

Just because we disagree on political issues doesn't make it trolling. Calling names and getting rude is not a good thing, but I would think that at THIS place we can be civil and discuss philosophical points.

Yah. The prices for housing and apartments are insane. My daughter and hubby have a sweet deal. A nice two bedroom flat in a good neighborhood for only $2800 a month. All remodeled with a gourmet kitchen. The property is owned by a friend and his wife who have moved back to the Napa/Sonoma area and wanted to get 'good renter'. Since they were all good friends from college, they got a good price.

If I were still living in my studio apartment in SF, which is rent controlled, I would be paying $120 a month. Probably over $1800 a month now LOL...shows how long ago that was. The landlord would probably have figured out how to off me so they could raise the rent and you would see me on one of those crime re-enactment shows.

Hah! The hinting, quizzing and picture posting of trolls, gnomes and fairies failed to name or take into consideration the work of the grindylows, known to infest mirrors and blogs.

A grindylow or grundylow is a folkloric creature...The name is thought to be connected to Grendel,a name or term most famously used in Beowulf but also found in many Old English charters where it is seen in connection with meres, bogs and lakes.

Grindylows are said to grab little children with their long sinewy arms and drown them if they come too close to the water's edge. Grindylows have been seen as a bogeyman used as a ploy to frighten children away from pools, marshes or ponds where they could drown.

Is it possible those soulless conservatives too cheap to buy a pole might actually be grindylows? Then again, strange mirrored reflections and disappearances keep happening to good people on this blog, so who knows?

Reading today brought a quote I'd not heard before. I liked it because I saw it expanding the grace and truth theme. It also covered some of the topics mentioned above regarding generosity, privilege and responsibility.

"Be on guard against science without humanity, politics without principle, knowledge without character, wealth without work, commerce without morality, pleasure without consciousness, and work without sacrifice"

I mean hello, I do do third world for a little nasty nasty, but when it comes to marriage and life forever I am going to choose and be selected by society.

I have had pilots, international book publishers, doctors, lawyers, professors, VC divas, farmers and even horse breeders want my hand in marriage....but they weren't hot enough. They really have to be hot sexy and rich. Is that asking for so much? My husband covers all the bases. Wicked hot, fabulous education, superior family, whip smart, great body and filthy rich.

Don't get me wrong. I love wicked poor, totally stupid, no education, blue collar, perhaps wears a uniform to work or even a orange vest with no shirt underneath...but that is just sex. I am not actually going to talk to them.

And if they drive a truck or a service van or even a nissan I will do them!

This Waunakee Wisconsin bitch wants quite a bit but she's worked her ass off to earn it!

As my dad always says, he was a great bullshitter but I am even better!

Evi L. Bloggerlady said...

The sad part Titus is there really are people who think that way. But good projection!

MamaM said...

If that was me and I would be yelling at every lower caste piece of shit to get down on their knees and worship the higher caste hog

At the risk of turning up the heat and boiling the hapless frog in the pot with TMI isn't this kinda, sorta, what might be taking place between the hub and the scoonie?

Titus said...

Mamam, you do know Boston is referred to The Hub Of The Universe?

tits.

MamaM said...

I do.

Titus said...

Lastly, mamam, before I go to nigh nigh. Sex with my husband is reciprocal. No top or bottom or hierarchy.

Just a little jerky jerky, some kissings, cum and bed time.

Actually, you could call us really vanilla.

If I want something more spectacular and nasty I will need to venture out.

Also, when the hubby and I are doing it the rare clumber is nearby watching or observing a little and I find that disturbing.

chickelit said...

@Mamam: Perhaps Titus was not looking for hogs with good caste but rather for hogs that were cased good. Titus, being circumspect, fail to mention that.

In any caste, neither were looking for tuna.

MamaM said...

the rare clumber is nearby watching or observing a little and I find that disturbing.

Yes, I'm familiar with the "observing a little look", half puzzled and quizzical, half salivatory, with a hesitant ever hopeful bubble above the head that reads "Dogpile???"

Chip S. said...

Titus is circumspect?

No wonder he comes across as lacking sensitivity.

Chip S. said...

That reminded me of noted Shakespeare scholar and author of Dog Love, Marjorie Garber.

Am I reading too much into that pic?

MamaM said...

not looking for hogs with good caste but rather for hogs that were cased good.

Show caste for display and exhibition?

Chip S. said...

In Trooper's time zone it's now August 16: The anniversary date of the deaths of Babe Ruth and Elvis.

MamaM said...

Am I reading too much into that pic?

Depends on what you're reading. This is the Therrreeeee Baaaack Frog Spawn in Gelatinous Casings Thread.

The "stop trying to give me tongue" is one down.

Chip S. said...

This is the right thread, then, cuz I don't read that pic as saying "stop".

chickelit said...

Chip, your photo and suggestive language make me wonder make me wonder who wears the pants in that family.

Is this still the right thread?

Chip S. said...

Did you ask who does the panting in that household?

I think they all do.

chickelit said...

Well yes that and also who wears out the panting.

The other Chip at TOP seems a tad upset tonight about meanness. I suspect it's about the Fen/Crack friction.

He seems like a fairly bright guy as well but I associate him with aloofness--rarely interacting directly with commenters as such. This I find it odd.

Chip S. said...

Is he hearing-impaired? I ask that b/c he often writes about ASL.

I imagine that might induce someone to become more of an observer and less of an interacter except in a close circle of friends. Maybe that carries over to his TOP commentary.

But you're right, chick. I would never simply post a comment asking him what he meant by something.

Chip S. said...

I just looked at the comment you referred to, chick. I read it as a reference to a falling-out over politics. I think he's mentioned before how closed-mindedly pro-Obama some of his friends are.

Would anybody really care about a Fen/Crack feud? Seems like an occasion for popcorn, as the cliche goes.

Chip S. said...

A tribute to the Bambino, featuring CrackMC and Fen (in the turtleneck).

MamaM said...

Holy Cow what a shot!
...and Bingo was his name-O!

The Dude said...

So, what do we have - another day with no Troop, the poison from Outhouse's dump oozing over here, a Fen/Crack feud where a good outcome would be that they both lost, and yet, somehow, the world keeps on spinning.

And that's the way it is, good night and good luck!

No wifi at Seatuck?

Evi L. Bloggerlady said...

Chip S. it is August and you should not be sad. At least wait till winter starts. It is too early for it now. Go get some great tomatoes from the garden or a farm stand and make a salad. It will make you feel better.

Most Horrifying Movie Trailer of the Summer.

This movie just has Titus written all over it.

:-D

But you're right, chick. I would never simply post a comment asking him what he meant by something.

I've tried that one before, Chip.

MamaM said...

Is ChipS sad? Hard to imagine how a laughing dog could be sad when there's so much love to be shared.

I'm thinking this might be a TOP bleedthrough, with the comment intended for the one known as TOC. But I recommend the cure, having partaken myself of the bounty. The garden tomatoes are outstanding, begging to be enjoyed by anyone with a wagging or flagging tale.

ndspinelli said...

I see it's "Look @ me" week @ TOP. All the shots of her are @ a distance and from above. Hides the chins and paunch. I've seen her recently..she's got a paunch. NTTAWWT.

chickelit said...

@DBQ: LOL! I missed that last night.

chickelit said...

@MamaM: I have tried on a couple occasions to grow the bountiful pomodori out here but have failed. There is no natural source of water in these parts and I never got the watering right. On the other hand, my juvenile citrus plants and grapes are thriving.

No wifi at Seatuck?

The first time Fogblather introduced us to Seatuck there was daily posting and lots of witty ripin'-a-parte going on...remember the German tourists overrunning Pooland?

Truth is (and I hate to say it) but Troop is taking a vacation from us this time.

Chip S. said...

MamaM is right. It's TOC@TOP who's sad.

Here's some love for a hound dog.

MamaM said...

re: love for a hound dog.

The old smoothie delivers! A TY-worthy vid and song complete with zest, snap, a whistle and an orange sweater (similar in color to the one the Mrs is wearing) with tights full of ... something dynamic!

What TOC said resonates. Plus, it prompted some good comments. I enjoy his style and stories.

Evi L. Bloggerlady said...

I knew that. Can you blame him?

(sigh)

chickelit said...

Can't blame him.

The Dude said...

I can.

Wait, who are we talking about?

AllenS said...

Who is the hell is TOC?

chickelit said...

AllenS said...
Who is the hell is TOC?

I agree with AllenS. I can think of two different entities who might be called that.

Please clarify.

chickelit said...

Sixty, I meant Trooper in my 6:11. Troop is not TOC.

chickelit said...

EBL was just agreeing that Troop was taking a vacay from us.

AllenS said...

Chick, how about this: The Other Chip. I just thought about it.

AllenS said...

Ever notice how some people gain fame, and then they don't want to hang out with their old friends anymore? It's like, who are you people?

Evi L. Bloggerlady said...

Did you guys say something?

And yeah, I was just agreeing with CL on Troop taking a vacation from us. The "(sigh)" was what Troop was doing just before he left.

I have no idea who TOC is referring to but "The Other Chip" seems to work. Maybe MamaM or Chip can clarify.

AllenS said...

EBL, maybe their talking in code and they don't want us to know. FBH, CYA, QBP.

The Dude said...

How come he doesn't pop up over here? TOC, that is.

MamaM said...

From the DeepThoughts...by Titus/Be good to MamaM thread....

ChipS says.\:

Thanks, MamaM.

Now I can't even threaten to flounce off--gotta be tough and durable.

Well, that plus I've gotta keep bringin' the recipes.

MamaM: I missed how the recipe thing got started. Last I knew ChipS was rolling cheez in pita bread, dunking it in wine and pronouncing it delicious.

It's a classic.

You have detective foo, Allen? We have a lot of detectives here. I wonder if I should worry?

AllenS said...

You are not under investigation, Darcy. How was the tennis?

Darcy said...

I'm still in Cincy. One more day of tennis tomorrow. It's wonderful. Perfect sundress weather!

Welcome back, Darce. I misread that as "defectives", but whatevs, it works...

MamaM said...

...All the shots of her are @ a distance and from above. Hides the chins and paunch. I've seen her recently

I'm all for at "a distance and above" to hide chins and paunch. While I refuse to say how many chins accompany me, I admit to a paunch but really don't care to have a photo of it beamed over the internet for the sake of full disclosure. Close up photos of the feet on women over sixty are generally not a good idea either. Mine, unfortunately, which used to be lovely and garnered compliments back in the day, are starting to look like my mom's, who at 92 and 115 lbs still has a bit of a paunch. Though she's so hunched over with osteoarthritis now, it's harder to see.

I like seeing pictures of people I know having a good time and enjoying themselves. The photos at TOP are still one of my favorite features. They seem to invite a broader range of commenters and make a nice change from the political slanging.

MamaM said...

Lest Titus chide me for being off topic again, file this under NCPBSH- no close pics because sh(it) happened.
