Don't break my Rice Balls!

Readeriam doubted that I could pig out with a calzone and then a frank with kraut. She doesn't know the half of it. I hit most of the stands for the old favorites. Pizza. Rice Ball. Olive roll. Mozzarella on corn bread grilled cheese. Sausage and peppers. Frank with Kraut. Roasted corn. And a few other things.

The thing is you are not eating a meal. You are just picked with small portions.

All of the joints on Court St. had a stand outside. Marco Polo had three things they were selling. Little thin crust pizza. Calzones. And this crusty rice balls. They looked like triangles actually. And they were great.

Hey now, boyo, it wasn't the amount but rather the flavor-profile combo in a shorter time span than it turned out to be...that, and setting up the Keynesian joke, such it was.

Girly. Hah! ; )

I love crazy flavor combos.

I love the taste of kraut though. Nothing is better than a Ruben. In fact the Pollacks make a sort of calzone with cabbage in it and pork that is really great. I forget the name but I always get it when we go to Riverhead on Long Island. Good stuff.

Super Reuben!

Corned Beef, pastrami, sauerkraut, melted cheese on crusty rye.

I am full and slightly stomach crampy from a run because I ate too much right beforehand. And I'd still eat one if it were here in front of me.

The mix of good food at your street fair is interesting to me. Very regional. I don't think I've ever seen a rice ball or an olive roll at a street event.

We get a whole different mix of food: lots of bbq, tri tip plates, pulled pork sandwiches and ribs, hot dogs, polish and italian sausage sandwiches on rolls. Mexican stuff like tacos, burritos, fish tacos (get your mind out of the gutter), chimichangas. Chinese and Tai food: a nice plate of Pad Tai or some spring rolls....nom nom nom. Indian tacos are always a big favorite too. The art club ladies always have a baked potato stand where you can load up on all the toppings.

Very different selection. I would love to try to Mozzarella corn bread grilled cheese! But I can't imagine what kind of corn bread would stand up to being a grilled cheese sandwich without crumbling apart.

Here's a meal I make for myself that nobody in my fam likes. I braise some country style pork ribs w/ some potatoes and onions. I then add some good Polish imported kraut, cover and simmer for an hour.

Nick - I've lost your home address. And are you cooking, by the way?

Hey, speaking of food, please watch this video of research scientist Gary Taubes and tell me if you think he's wrong.

Agree with that, there's nothing better than a good Reuben.

As for Taubes, meat and vegetables is the way to lose weight.

If that's what floats your boat. No one lives forever, no matter how you eat.

Haz, I've seen this guy interviewed. Being diabetic, I know what he says makes COMPLETE sense. What is tough is this is Inga's hero, but we can't hold that against him. And, I would love to share a meal w/ you. That Sheboygan Italian restaurant would be a good venue. I'll drive long distances for good food.
