Nope. Lost already. Rolling wheat? That's not right either. But I do retain the tune. I hope I go out singing Rush-a-homa...or at least whispering it. Rather than croaking...

Rather than croaking when I croak is what I meant to say.

And it's Rosh-ha-shona. They dip apples in honey - mainly for the kids - so that the New Year will be sweet. Nice custom.

I like Jewish holidays because I think matzos are tasty.

Thanks EBL and Troop. Oh, and Happy New Year to you as well.

I don't know if mid-September makes sense as the start of the New Year but I've always felt that the absolute worst day to celebrate the New Year is January 1st, the absolute pit of winter. Most sense would be around Easter time, IMO.

So do my birds. I bought a package based on chickelit's cheeping about ricpic's Epic and Delightful Eggy Dish and they turned out to be stale. Nothing poetic about limp and crunchless matzos. I was so disillusioned I threw them out the door. It's "waving wheat" for me the next time around.

ricpic, That is a nice custom w/ the apples and honey. Happy New Year.

Maybe it would be more tasteful to say I was disappointed in the matzos I bought, as I was anticipating the dish described. It sounded comforting and easy. I may have I bought them at the wrong store.

I'm concerned about what this New Year might hold for those with connections to Israel.

To ricpic and those celebrating these Days of Awe, "Shanah Tovah."
