Happy Valentines Day!

I just wish I could spend it like my buddy Al did but I can't get all of the people I need in the garage at the same time!

Happy St Valentines Day!

There was an incident in my garage this morning that left me and the floor covered with red paint. I was thinking of calling it the "Great Spray Can Massacree", but then I remembered what day it is and I realized it's all been done before.

And to think that these days we can't even go down to the corner store and purchase a Thompson submachine gun - man, has this country gone downhill or what?

On the plus side, I was able to pull a fiberglass splinter out of the back of my hand this afternoon - it got jammed in there when I was working on my other house back in December. This is one time that I don't mind parting company with something that has been close to me for a long time.

Warren Zevon approves of Sixty's post.

I decorated some cupcakes at the restaurant for the big day today. Since they're small, I had to abbreviate, so I put "Happy VD!!" on them. For some reason, they didn't sell very well. This economy sucks.

LOL!

That was the first time I ever attempted to listen to anything by Warren Zevon - made it over 30 seconds in. If he is pro-Tommy gun, perhaps I should have tried harder, but it matters not - of all of us here, I think only CL has actually fired one of those beasts.

Put a hundred rounds in the drum, Bub, let me have at it!

It's true. here. The Thompson tends to drift up and to the right because of the feed mechanism: shells exit bottom left. Next time--if there is one--I'll go for the grease gun or a German MG42 copy.

Valentine's Day has grown exponentially during my adult life. Even in the 70's it was not 25% of what it is now. I consider it a horseshit holiday. I make my bride a favorite dinner[which I often do] and that's it. This year it was chicken marsala, risotto and green beans cooked in olive oil. Carrot cake for dessert.
