Rice Balls Baby!!!!

Louie from Casa Rosa just brought over a big tray of Rice Balls. Damn that's good shit.

I served all the girls in the store rice balls and fried zucchini. They were very happy.

Rice balls? From a place called Casa Rosa?

I'm guessing this is something other than sushi.

It's Italian all the way. When I posted that I had only served the rice balls and thought the other tray was fried zucchini. But it turned out to be eggplant rollatini which was a lot better. We ended up eating that for dinner.

That sounds good. I've never had rollatini.

Do these guys come over regularly? Is it a kind of advertising, or do they just like feeing you?

Louie wants me to go in business with him. We want to renovate the front part as a bistro style area with a sidewalk cafe and use the backroom as the old school restaurant the way it is now. He had busted my balls to find him a new space when his lease ran out a year ago. But he really didn't want to move. His landlord put it on the market for a crazy price. I brought some of my real estate investor clients around to see if I could work a deal where we could take the building condo with Louie and me getting the resturant. But the numbers just don't work. The planning and the scheming made us good friends though. I eat there at least three times a week and always send a lot of customers who shop in my store and want a tip to great Italian food in Carroll Gardens. So as a guniea, when he wants info or to say thank you he brings over some food.

Heh.

That's-a nice. I would think going condo would be big bucks, enough so the numbers for the restaurant would be relatively minor.

There's a very, very good American place in Burbank with ridiculously low prices (for the quality). The only thing we can figure is that the family that owns the restaurant also owns the property.

He wanted me to set up the condo for him and put on a bid for the restaurant for one million dollars. But the owners want three million for the building that has two rent controlled apartments. The numbers just don't work. So he is in limbo (heh) and can't do any repairs or buy new equipment until he gets a lease or some security. It's a tough situation and like so many people he wants me to solve his problem for him.

...which you could do if you'd taken that offer from the mob!
