Keep chumming my friend!

So the evil blogger lady has been throwing out a lot of chum lately.

A post about bras.

A post about a machine for the "obesity epidemic."

Any day now we will see a post praising Sarah Jessica Parker.

But some of us have a day job so we can stay strong. Just sayn'

All those posts are machine-generated by Google these days. Of course they're chum. Google knows all about you, just like it does the rest of us.

I try to avoid feeding Google, and hope they'll just leave me alone. But I would get a little paranoid if posts about choir singing and maybe something about the hit piece the NYT did on Phillips Andover the other day start showing up. If you run across such things, I'd appreciate a heads-up.

Thank you very much.

I don't know about cockroaches anymore. Tom (Tommy's all grown up) slammed a laptop lid on poor BC a few years ago. Now Tom's getting all sentimental about his elementary and middle-school years, but he squashed BC in a determined fit to put them behind him when he was an "I'm not a baby anymore" 13-year-old.

Now that he's putting in 60 stressful hours a week (down from 80 first term) of schoolwork and activities in a Type-A-filled environment, he's fondly remembering those golden Cambridge days when he and his friends were cute and smart kids that everyone loved and everything came easily to.

But BC is dead, and you can't go back, can you?

I am just glad that I am not a Hindu because I might come back as a blogging cockroach. Just sayn'

The ghost of BC, a cockroach dead these ten years and more...could pay a visit.

But you might just be seen a clogging blockroach, fogblather.

Lol! I kept listening to the very end in the hopes a jaunty doorbell would ring!

That the chum bucket pictured has double doors is another delight.

IMO, "Dinga DINga" was a TY worthy ball bust! One that made me smile in spite of disagreements I have with the hostess and spouse in other areas.

I have not returned to comment since I made the decision to leave, yet I continue to read over there, because of the window it provides. The Gospel of Chip A today (his rendition of Jesus setting his face toward Jerusalem ) and the following comment by Quayle, were both part of the good stuff I found floating amid the chum:

There are so many attributes and characteristics of a human soul, and each, if measured, would fall along some continuum or range.

I advocate reflecting back to a child - teaching a child - that while some of their characteristics may be on one edge of a bell curve, others are solid center, and others are on the adjudged "good" edge. Thus, their attributes that seem negative in one category are actually features or byproducts of other great and amazing gifts and talents in others.

A holistic view of a soul; not one that sees in a child a personality nail sticking up and longs to pound it down.

Maybe the blogging cockroach has undergone some evolutionary transitions or has been living in a Monsanto lab somewhere and been altered and can come back as blogging crawdad? A Cajun crustacean commenter might be fun.

Good idea! It wasn't perfect, but If we had collaborated, it could have been pluperfect.

A desert dwelling scorpion?

There's some fun varieties: the Hottentotta hottentotta, Tityus stigmurus, AND Tityus trivittatus,

Scorpion venom has a fearsome reputation, but only about 25 species are known to have venom capable of killing a human being.

Fearsome but not lethal is the way to go!
