Amazon Prime + Smart TV= Hours of Annoying Gits

So we bought a smart TV which links up to the internet. Now some of it is cool because you can get Pandora to listen to music and download all kinds of stuff on your TV. One of things I found out is that I can download movies and TV from my Amazon Prime Account. But I didn't know what that would mean.

Now we had heard a lot about this "Downtown Abby" show. I thought it was just a reworking of the old "Upstairs Downstairs" bullshit from back in the day. Which it is. But we downloaded the first episode and the wife loved it. So now we have to watch the whole series! Actually all three years of this freaking thing!

So I had to negotiate. For every one of these shows about mincing poofters we have to watch a "Justified" or another superhero movie.

I need to dumb down the smart TV.

Look at Trooper - usin' the word "execrable" when referring to Allie Inga.

How long will it be before his new BFF Kookie starts posting here? My guess is that will happen before the Gints win the Super Bowl again.

But they are, at least for now, still Super Bowl champeens, so respect must be paid, amiright?

Hey I respect Cookie. He at least believes what he believes. He calls out Obama not like the rest of the libs who gloss over everything illegal that he does.

I think execrable Inga is the perfect nickname for her.

Maggie Smith alone is worth the price of admission.

I hear ya, Troop, but balls need bustin', just sayin'.

Kookie is consistent, but he is insane. Sure, compared to Ritmo Jungle Fever he might seem balanced, but he's not.

Inga is ignorable, in addition to anything else you can say about her. Long may she marinate in her own feculence.

I just want to encourage attacks on Obama from the left if I can. Just sayn'

The enemy of my enemy is my friend so to speak.

I am leftish but don't like Obama much.

I would enjoy seeing someone slap Hillary during these meetings-that would be fun.

I am watching this hearing today and all I see on the scroller that the voice of Charlie Brown was arrested for stalking someone-I am wondering if he was stalking a man or woman?

I want to be Ambassador to a Hot Country and spread American Patriotism by doing the hots. I would say stuff like, "take that American hog and worship it you third world piece of shit".

Dumbplumber and I both LOVE Downton Abby. We are trying to pace ourselves and are into episode 2 of the second season.

Since going to the Roku/Amazon Prime/Netflix etc routine, we have so much more variability and choices in viewing.

Amazon Prime...>RULES!!! We have gotten more than our value out if it just in free shipping. Since we bought a new 60" plasma TV we needed a new entertainment stand for it. FREE SHIPPING!!!!

One down side is that we did minimize our Dish subscription. With the exception of the Speed Channel and a couple of other, we rarely if ever watch sports. Unfortunately, that also axed out Justified and the Fox entertainment channel.

Despite not having television live, we do enjoy our Netflix account. They don't have current movies available for streaming, but enough entertainment for our liking. We asked the kids if they wanted to get a dish last fall and they declined. That gave me great satisfaction. Austere and pragmatic approach to our children rearing pays off occasionally.

My son turned 18 yesterday. I told him, "Welcome to adulthood. We didn't get you a present." And we didn't. We took him to dinner at the Thai restaurant he and my wife like. Actually, we asked him last weekend what he might like. Last year we got him seat covers for his car and gift certificates for oil changes. He said he couldn't think of anything he wants. I suggested new socks and he agreed that new socks are always appropriate.

We settled on a new i-Pod. Unfortunately, he is working in a secure division of his company and cannot have any recording device or anything that can connect to a phone or the Internet. So, that means we have to find an old i-Pod that doesn't have a camera or wi-fi capabilities.

My daughter got her learner's permit yesterday, too. She chose to get it on her big brother's birthday, so that next year she can get her license on his birthday and relieve him of his car and claim it as her own. Surprisingly, he didn't bat an eyelid at that. He knows he's had a freebie thus far and that he needs to find his own wheels. He was thinking about it a few weeks back, until I reminded him she has a year to go before she gets her full license. So, he stopped thinking about it.

We've been practicing driving already. I did it with both kids. I just take them out on the back roads here and turn them loose, so when they get to driver's ed, they already know how to drive.

I do miss the days when my son was delighted to receive Thomas the Tank Engine crap for his birthday. Then Bionicles, then air soft guns. We had them last week, they're leaving next week, so we're trying to enjoy them this week.

If I was Ambassador of Hot Country I would implement new and cutting edge policies:

hot health clubs
exotic mineral waters
Safe and healthy and not so rare waxing procedures.
Classes to get to know your hog or vagine.
Organic, cage free, free range food
Special lighting
Designer clothes
and Prada accoutrements.

These policies would grow and enhance the impoverished country.

tits.

I like "Downton Abbey" but the thought crossed my mind last Sunday that it might be getting too "chick-themed." Plus I can sense a gay intrigue angle coming back between Thomas and the new footman. Titus could probably dig that.

Ruth Anne and Victoria used to be huge fans of the show but I think both of them preemptively bought season 3 (released in Britain last year).

No way would I ever subscribe to Sullivan's blog.

I went on Andrew's blog sometimes but after I heard he was going to charge for that shit I was like see ya.

I guess he wasn't happy making over 400k from the daily bitch.

He's a total bitch too.

Titus said...

Andrew's a big time member of the Harvard Gay lavender mafia too.

Don't cross those bitches, they will fucking destroy you.

I see them walking around Mass Ave daily and walk across the street to avoid them-we as are not a tight community, instead we are competitive and judgy in every way-if you didn't know.

They actually meet each other for lunches and shit-something i would never do.

1/2 of the ones I know were big time Elizabeth Warren bundlers, no thanks. They are all about really big annual salaries, start ups, VC's and business development-I am totally operational to them, instead of strategic. And they jump from a company after a year-I can't do that.

I was thinking of getting a "smart" TV. The only problem I see with it is that it probably puts you on an "upgrade path".

I mean, it basically is the same as a TV+Roku (or some similar device). Only when your $50 Roku goes stale, you buy a new $50 Roku, instead of having to worry about your $1,000 TV.

Basically cuttin' the cord soon. Probably going back to cable, ironically, but basic only with 50MB 'net. Then Hulu, Amazon, whatevs.

Scheduled TV is for chumps.
