Off to Marco Polo

For some ravioli.

Or maybe some fettuccine twirled in the Parmesan wheel of cheese.

Or perhaps veal piccata with a side of seasonal vegetables.

I don't know.

I will let it be a surprise.

I liked that shot you posted last year of you hunched over the pasta bowl, elbows on the table, rolling your eyes. You looked kinda a like a peasant or a paisan.

Envious. I had a cheeseburger. A very good cheeseburger, but a cheeseburger none the less.

I'g leaving this afternoon for the weekend at the cabin in far northern Wisconsin, where the only Italian food has the phrase "Boy-Ar-Dee" on the label.

I'll have another cheeseburger in stead. And our favorite international entre - Beers d'Many Nations.

The italian food is good out east.

I am going to one of my fave mom and pop places around.

I don't go to the fancy italian places that charge double and you don't even get a salad with your meal!

I am going to order either Chicken Bella Boaca-think Chicken with cheese and ham in it with ziti and cream sauce and amazing bread, salad with italian and breadsticks.

Or homemade enormous "Ravolis" Parm in a red sauce gravy and Meatballs.

Or Chicken Marsala with mushrooms, ham, ziti in a wine, garlic and butter sauce.

Mushroom Cap appies or maybe homemade mozarella sticks.

Or

Clicking on your "food" tag led me right back to that favorite photo of Lisa's: link

I think I might be finally getting the hang of getting around Trooper's archives.

Of course now that I've linked to the photo you can see that I was lying about the rolling of the eyes. I inserted that part to get someone to connect it with FLOTUS.

Is that stuffed cabbage? One of the few exotic things, well, to me it was exotic, they could make me eat when I was a kid. As a kid just one would fill me up. It felt like throwing a trunk into the stomach. Same thing with matzo balls, one matzo ball you're finished. Except the stuffed cabbage was much more flavorful. Fascinating, huh?
