Titus, Aaron Hernadez is from my hometown of Bristol, Ct. I played football and baseball against his uncle, Vito Hernandez. They are some big, tall, Ricans!
Do peeps live on Lake Winnebago Haz? I was looking at real estate on the lake (for possible future) and didn't see many homes.
I want to buy a place on a Lake in Wisconsin but I want it to be "ocean like" and Lake Winnebago because of it's size seemed kind of oceanish. I also thought about a place in Sheboygan. I do need to be by fab spas and restaurants though.
Some of the most expensive lake frontage in Wisconsin is on Lake Winnebago. Most of the lake is surrounded by homes large and small, with the upper end being WOW. Buy on the east shore for best sunset views.
Sheboygan has great homes, as does nearby Kohler. The presence of the Kohler Co and its billionaire owners has led to great spas and restaurants in Kohler and Sheboygan.
If you want to be in the most exclusive areas, though, look at Green Lake and Elkhart Lake. Old money, new money, beautiful peoples.
I was also thinking about Green Lake. My parents have a cottage near there. Ted Rowlands, from CNN,has a place right next to my parents. I want a lake where I am like the Ted Rowlands, fabulous and the lake knows it but they leave me alone. And they can't try to burn my place down because I have a brown husband who has a British accent.
Green Lake has depth while Lake Winnebago has breadth. There's lots of bread around "Green" Lake but I'd rather live on Lake HoChunk. It's only like 20 feet deep max while Green lake is over 200. Your fathoms may vary.
Forget Hurley. It's broke. If you're looking in Vilas County the fab is on part of the Eagle River Chain of Lakes, or better still, Trout lake north of Minocqua. Plum Lake is good. Best is Lake Lucerne near Crandon. Gin-clear water, white sand beaches.
Saugatuck, MI on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan, is Hog Heaven If you don't like the local color, there's a preponderance of fruit farms in the area ensuring an ever changing supply of migrant workers ready to rustle the bushes and yell, Hey Papi! You could cut out of the cottage on hot afternoons under the pretext of locating fresh produce for the hub for dinner, and find some exotic bird in the bush field action or behind the road side stand release. Lot's of Port O Jons on the blueberry farms for closed stall action if privacy's an issue.
The sunsets are fantastic and nothing beats the eastern shore of Lake Michigan for ocean-like waves and beaches.
Door County except June-August is a pain in the ass.
I love Green Lake. However, I had not been there for 10 years or so until last August. I was surprised to see how weedy it was and how dead the town was also. When our kids were younger we rented a house @ the Baptist Retreat. They have nice old houses..pretty spartan but nice. And, they have some prime lake frontage.
Kohler is a 5 star resort. Herb Kohler has taken great pride in that. He inherited the plumbing empire but the resorts are all his. I've had some incredible meals there. I'm not a golfer but that doesn't matter.
Nick - I was the chief real estate development officer for Kohler for a few years. The work done on Mr. Kohler's projects is unlike any other place I've seen or heard of. It makes "top shelf" seem like a low standard.
His golf courses are nothing short of brilliant, especially the facilities he's developed at St. Andrews in Scotland.
There is a guy in Sheboygan who owns four restaurants you'd like. Here's a link. Every time we've been ther, the place is full of people who've driven up from Chicago just to dine.
Michael, Very interesting! I hope Kohler was good to work for? My sister knows him well from working for Yale and Choate development. She convinced Herb to be the chairman of the board @ Choate during a major donation campaign. In 2004 Herb had a board meeting in Kohler and I was invited, my sister knew we were kindred spirits. He was incredibly gracious to myself and my bride. This was just a few weeks after the PGA Championship @ Whistling Straits. We talked food, sports, movies, everything. Herb is friends w/ Kevin Costner. Herb studied theatre @ Yale and asked Costner to put him in a western. Herb loves to ride horses. He told Costner he didn't care about the role but he wanted to ride a horse and kill someone. A few years later Costner was making his film, Open Range. He called Herb and said, "I have a role for you as a bar owner. You won't be riding a horse but you do kill someone, close range w/ a shotgun." So you can see Herb in the movie and in the climactic shootout he kills a bad guy w/ a shotgun blast. Herb did get to ride on the set in the Canadian Rockies. We had just got back from there and compared notes. He loves to fly fish as does Robert DuVall. He said he and DuVall would ride to a good river. They would fish for hours and DuVall wouldn't say a word..not angry, just silent. It ws one of the best meals I've ever eaten over 3 hours and we just talked throughout. He likes to listen as well as talk. It was My Dinner w/ Herb not Andre!
Fast forward 2 years. A dear friend of mine from KC has a baby daughter who underwent heart surgery @ Stanford. She's on oxygen and returning home to KC would have been hell on commercial. I emailed Kohler, no questions asked he sends out a plane to fly them from San Jose to KC.
Doesn't Sheboygan have one of the top nepalese pizza places in the U.S. too? it has some certificate saying that is one of only a few with this supposed amazing italian certificate for pizza.
I forgot what it was called but saw it online. The owners are right from the boat and the pizza is in the oven for like 3 minutes.
Titus - You're right. The man who owns Trattoria Stefano also owns Il Ritrivo across the street. It is one of two or three pizza restaurants in America that has been certified by the Verace Pizza Napoletana Association. There was a show about the place on public television last year.
The pizza is heavenly, I can say form first hand experience.
Nick, you've painted an accurate picture of Mr. Kohler. He was the most gracious, fascinating, driven genius I've ever known, and at the same time the frustrating person I ever worked for. Meetings for even simple things like picking out door hardware or naming a new toilet color would begin at noon and run through 6 AM the next day. He'd send a security guard to my home at 3 AM to wake me up and bring me to his office because he had an idea he wanted to discuss.
Kohler Village was a 2,000 acre area of farms and homes with no debt and a 100 year planning horizon. One day I might be dealing with architects from the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, the next day it would be his Morgan horse breeding farm, the next day with some other project. If I needed to go somewhere to look at something I could call the hangar and reserve one of several jets.
My job was so all-encompassing that I burned out in less than five years and went on to developing hospitals. I still remember the place fondly, and am happy to say that when I've run into Mr. or Mrs. Kohler years later they've been unfailingly gracious, remembering every detail of the things I did while I was at Kohler Co.
I think Herb is not semi-retired, and his son David runs the business.
The third world gardeners in Saugatuck has def peeked my interest. Going out to get fresh fruit and veggies is def a diversion I could use to bag an illegal. I have been looking at realtor.com for possible units and Saugatuck is really cheap in comparison to out here.
I am a little stimulated about this, def. and horny, natch.
Thanks Mamam for knowing me and caring about my needs and desires.
I have been looking at pics of peeps from Saugatuck and the fags do look kind of bear-ish and rough (but not in a good international way but in an American chub way) which does bring up some concerns.
They barbecue too in the pics which leaves me perplexed.
I would be interested in pics of the illegal orange pickers though. I don't care for the flat pie face Mexicans but would prefer Colombian, Brazillian or Dominicans who tend to me lighter, taller and more sinewy and less squat. I am very particular about my third world friends-for 5 minutes of intimacy.
Also, are there places where these illegals cum every morning for day labor? I would be interested in those spots as well. That would be a natural brunchy spot for me.
Who but a friend would risk buggering up their computer to locate the skeevy Rest Area sites on the highways leading into the Saugatuck area, where stall trysts with truckers are the name of the pre-warm up game before coming to the purely gay delights of the town itself?
I do know there's lots of Beautiful Boat People hanging around that neck of the woods, but can't testify to their nationality. As for American Chub, midwestern meat eaters tend to be lovers of beefy goodness and hogs. Pork is considered the other white meat.
The town's Oval Beach is ranked one of the top 25 beaches in the world by Conde Nast and one of the top two in the USA by National Geographic Traveler. More recently, the Chicago Tribune rated it number one out of the Midwest's five best beaches.
I've no more info, though. After opening the door to peep into Rest Area Info, I decided its best not to let my mouse wander further off the beaten track into any more brunchy spots.
There is an increasing possibility that my other house will sell. I filled out some forms yesterday, but it was difficult. They wanted to know how I wanted to be paid - my first two choices were "cash" and "Krugerrands", neither of which were actual options. I guess I'll have to do those monetary conversions myself.
I didn't say "assault rifles", as they are a bunch of gay commies who would wet their panties if they encountered such language.
Haz, Thanks for your take on Herb. I just spent an evening w/ him. It sounds like over the years you spent EVERY hour of the day w/ him! I read an article about Kohlers clashes w/ Pete Dye when they were building Whistling Straits. I learned when Herb helped my friend w/ one of his planes that he is one of the original supporters of Ronald McDonald House. My friend stayed in one @ Stanford when her daughter was in the hospital. When she told the folks there Herb Kohler was sending a plane they sang his praises as a quiet, generous supporter of Ronald McDonald House since its inception.
CL - you know they are. Some of my customers are as gay as Titus, but the bowls are priced so that those of us who are normal literate non-hate-filled bigots can afford them, too.
I'm a hate filled bigot and I can't afford nothin'. Well, after my mid-winter adventures with the plumber and then the house doctor in rapid succession that is. Though I bought a $5 dollar eye glass case on Amazon yesterday which made me feel I was back in the game.
Ricpic, my man, it's all about priorities - instead of fixing your roof you could have purchased a nice wooden bowl to catch the water coming through the ceiling. Same holds true with plumbing issues.
I'll give you a pass on the eye glass case, unless you used Althouse's portal, in which case you might want to visit a clinic, just sayin'...
I hate Sarah Jessica Parker, Robin Williams, Tim Robbins, Susan Saradon, the BJ Hunnicut guy, brussel sprouts, the Boston Red Sox, commies and well, lawyers.

Speak for yourself, paisan, the Niners are still playing.
I know whose tush that is. Do you?
Hint: starlight.
Stellar question, ricpic!
I know whose tush that is.
Isn't that a guessing game Joan Rivers puts up every week on her show?
The Pats are still in and it is now the time for all us to pull together and support New England.
thanks.
tits.
Titus, Aaron Hernadez is from my hometown of Bristol, Ct. I played football and baseball against his uncle, Vito Hernandez. They are some big, tall, Ricans!
I love when Hernandez flexes his muscles. Bristol is so nice.
I want to do Hernandez.
You've gotta get out from under the hindu first.
Did you know that the 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick was born in Wisconsin? He was born in Milwaukee and was adopted by a couple that lived in Fond Du Lac.
Fond Du Lac is part-way between Milwaukee and Green Bay, so you Niners fans can thank us for the heap big football mojo the kid has.
Plus, by not being a total waste of talent, he is erasing the Tony Romo curse (another Wiscosnin product).
Tom Brady's wife dresses him funny.
We won, natch.

There's a pretty good dose of fab around Geneva Lake, peppered with big Chicago money.
And the peeps need to be thin gorgeous gay friendly and bitchy on my lake, natch.
tits
I don't want to be on Lake Geneva Haz-too commercial-I need something a little more remote and quiet yet fab-I know it is a difficult search.
I was thinking Hurley or Arbor Vitae?
I was also thinking about Green Lake. My parents have a cottage near there. Ted Rowlands, from CNN,has a place right next to my parents. Lake Winnebago is for sailing in the summer and iceboating in the winter.

Kaepernick is a QB God. He will lead his team to ultimate victory.
Buy the lake house, Titus, and I'll house sit for you when you're cruising the riviera or shooting bengal tigers in Hyderabad, deal?
Broaden your horizons, Titus.

Well, an ocean might beat a lake when it comes to ocean-like waves.
But then again, I wouldn't get into fresh water on a bet - those stagnant mosquito breeding cesspools will kill you.

Haz, Thanks for the link. It looks like the real deal Italian which is rare in Wi.
WWDD: What would Deano Do?
I only hope and pray someone can make Brady start Bradying again.
Now Atlanta fans have to actually pay attention to their team. Jeeez, how demanding.
The Seahawks were surprised that last play did not result in a TD.

mamam could be a travel agent to the gays.
I could see her putting together special gay itineraries based on the needs, diversions and desires of her "clients".
The written up itinerary could be hilarious although the research may become taxing and depressing, natch.

Though homographic in every sense, a "gaycation" is not positively charged.
Damn, Sixty, now I can't erase my mistake!
Good one, though!
BTW, the photos you sent me of the bowels you carved with wood were impressive!
