Capisce!
Michael Corleone: Fredo, you're nothing to me now. You're not a brother, you're not a friend. I don't want to know you or what you do. I don't want to see you at the hotels, I don't want you near my house. When you see our mother, I want to know a day in advance, so I won't be there. You understand?

I guess he's watching a Speedy Gonzales marathon to improve his vocabulary.
People understand that "consiglieri" means advisor in Italian right? Not attorney/lawyer. There's another word for that: avvocato.
I know of at least one person on Althouse who was confused by it.
Consiglieri is close (but not exactly the same) to counselor.
Avvocato is the equivalent of attorney.
They can overlap in Italian and English but you are right the terms are not interchangable.
When Disney used to have the "Vault Disney" on cable, they ran a show called where "avocato" came up a lot, I think.
It might have been Elfego Baca, Lawyer of the Old West, but I can't recall.
You can learn a lot from TV.
