Have you ever been in the airport and while you are sitting at the gate and you see a crazy person walking back and forth talking to themselves and you just know that he is going to sit next to you?
Well that happened to me on the flight down to Florida on Jet Blue.
There was this short squat dude with a shaved head talking into his bluetooth and pacing back and forth at the gate. He is shouting about some business bullshit and acting like a tool. I just knew he would end up sitting next to me.
Now this guy had every electric device know to man. He sits down and puts two Red Bulls in the seat flap in front of him. After we have to shut off the phones he starts vibrating like he is going to explode. He had to periodically get up and pace the length of the plane. He was chewing tobacco. But the worst thing was he kept snorting and hacking up lugies that he must have been swallowing. I felt like I was in that fucking contagion movie for fucks sake. It was pretty disgusting.
It was loads of fun.

I can't speak for Trooper but I think Althouse is a hypocrite regarding free speech.
A commenter like J shows up and gets personally insulting towards not just one but a lot commenters. This is ignored and or encouraged.
A commenter like Mary shows and apparently gets under Althouse's skin. Instant deletion. I am not justifying Mary. I'm just noting the double standard.
Excuse my ignorance. I have been begging Althouse to ban J, but I thought she had a blanket no-ban policy. I didn't realize Mary, or anybody, had been banned. If that's how Trooper feels, I'm in no position to argue. It does get uncomfortable over there sometimes.

Normally I am a 100% free speech guy and many commenters who rub some people the wrong way come here and are part of the crew. People like Ritmo, Garage and Hdhouse post here all the time and prove themselves to be pretty cool guys.
J is a different kettle of fish. He is banned here and should be banned at Althouse. I have expressed that opinion several times as has other valuable commenters such as Palladin, chickenlittle and Fred4Pres. This has neither been acknowledged or rejected in any way.
J had followed me here and I tried to engage him in a normal manner as I had done so many times with other commenters. I even set up topics and treads to engage him. He has proven himself to be beyond redemption. Over and over again.
I choose not to associate with people like that. I paid up my bar tab and have moved on to other joints. I might return if the clientle changes or the bouncer decides to do her job. But it is her bar and she gets to make the rules.
But for right now life is too short and I have better things to do.

I know. J has made thrown rather personal and gross threatening remarks in my direction and on my blog. I'm not afraid. It would require quite some effort for anyone to approach us IRL.
Mary while annoying and quite bitchy has actually some interesting things to say and contributes to the dialogue yet she is summarily deleted.
I enjoy Trooper's blog even though I don't comment all that often or have much to offer regarding my opinion on Barbara Eden's bazongas. However, nice I think. I always wanted to be Jeannie in I Dream Of Jeannie. Such power....and I don't mean just her tits.

The beer is great as the daughter stocks my favorites when I am coming to town.

I am certainly not afraid of J but I don't like the tone he sets. I have even stood up for Jeremy on occasion but this J guy is just wrong. His type of crazy and nastiness is not something that you let stand. He is deleted everytime he shows up here and he should be deleted everytime he shows up on other peoples blogs. But that is that persons choice.
I try to have a fun time here and we don't need that anti-semtic bullshit around here. I don't want my hebe friends like ricpic to feel uncomfortable.

As I commented at Althouse I'm pretty sure J actually suffers from psychosis. He really believes that everybody there is a sock puppet for "Sac.-Byro". He is capable of an occasional lucid comment, and there are hints of a good mind there, but he is mostly about obscene, violent imagery. In private emails I too have asked Althouse to ban him without getting a response from her.
Anyway, thanks for the invite Trooper. I've put you in my bookmarks.
For a long time it was a horse race between Jeannie, Ellie Mae, and Agent 99. Laura Petrie, attractive though she was, was not in the running-- she was a Mom. I think Jeannie won at last, you know, the magic, the bare midriff. I remember seeing Barbara Eden on Johnny Carson long ago. She seemed like a real kick in the ass.

Tyrone, don't fall for the J act. I think it started out as someone trying to hide their real identity, and then morphed into lucid comments because he/she wanted to have it both ways (to get points across).
As far as Mary, I give Althouse a complete pass. She knows her from real life (former student), and if I understand correctly, has a restraining order against her posting. It'd be like an ex or co-worker spamming your site, not the same as internet anonymity stuff.
There is a lot to be said for first class.
J I am not scared of you. I just find you distasteful and not the type of person I would voluntarily associate with. I let a lot of things go but not your act.
