Leaving on a Jet Plane!

Hey I am skipping town for a few days and I won't tell you where. So the posting might be a little delayed over the weekend.

I will just let you guess where we are going.

Oh and by the way......whose that girl?

She is Titus's fave!

Naw, I think Troop's with Carol when it comes to Disney.

The Dude said...

Whoa, Troop went to Disney World with Carol_Herman? Pictures or it didn't happen...

I am thinking Carol Herman is more of a Sea World gal.

Coo Coo Ka-choo

Poor Anita's life.

Divorce, bankruptcy, not paying employees.

So sad.

I think she looks fabulous!

A day without orange juice is like a day without sunshine!

You misread me, Sixty.

I' boycotting Troop's tits poll because Anita's not a choice.

Misread? I think not. Sure, it is revolting to consider, but Troop is a tough guy, just sayin'...

Character Greetings-designated places where kids of all ages can meet and greet Disney Characters throughout the Magic Kingdom Theme Park.

Maybe it is Fill in for a Character Week in the Magic Kingdom, with Trooper signed up for a week as Goofy while "j" plays Snow White.

Though a better fit might involve TY alternating as Chip and Dale while Carol squeezes into Merry Poppins gear, stashes her Mark Twain CD's in the carpet bag next to the magic measuring tape and Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Tonic, and thumps her crazy parrot umbrella.

But if the Big Man is aiming for rest and refreshment, then taking his True Love along for a week spent as Minnie and Mickey sounds like fun.

Rest up, laugh, and have a good time putting on and taking off the red shorts!

What would be interesting is Trooper putting on his Jeter jersey and flying to see Game 7. And of course, blogging it.

Then again, he might be at that ESPN sports bar at Disney Boardwalk right now, wearing his Jeter jersey and stirring up the patrons there.

Yeah, funny what happens when you're blacklisted for something as silly as sticking to your principles.

Titus said...

E this was years after her dustup.

What about personal responsibility?

Many of her previous employees were never paid at her sing a long show in Tennessee.

Also, no one came to the shows, not because of the gay stuff, because of the talent was just not that great.

Fred4Pres said...

Titus is correct. Anita was not that great a singer. He dinner club failed because of that. The suggestion that the Branson crowd abandoned her because she got divorced seems a bit of a stretch (my experience is a lot of Baptists are for strict bible reading except for Leviticus on pork/shrimp and Jesus on divorce).

Fred4Pres said...

Of course the gay world made it a point to crush her, but they moved on to anyone else who dares to question the gay mafia.

chickelit said...

The only reason Anita comes up here, in Trooper's thread, is because she was pretty and because she irks Titus and his ilk.

Irk the ilk.

Is there anything else, need be said?

Nothing will change because of what's said here--no hearts and minds.

Get over your hatred people, Both sides.

No, guys, she was that good. She had a good, strong voice.

She had a couple of songs that charted nationally in the late 50s-early 60s and did a lot of TV when variety shows were popular - maybe before your time.

And you might want to consider the effects of blacklisting. It might have made it much harder to get restarted. Blacklisting means all the doors close. Don't know about Branson, but there may have been other difficulties she had.

You're trying to imply she was dishonest, rather than in over her head. I hadn't heard a word about her in 30 years or so, but sorry to hear she's fallen on hard times.

I wouldn't go to Diseney World to save a puppy's life.

We went to Florida to visit the kids before our big project starts.

chickelit said...

I suspected that Troop. Sixty Grit misread me.

Carol Herman despises Walt Disney. I learned that from her.

MamaM said...

chickenlittle...In the Things I Learned from Carol Herman category, resides a book entitled, "Sex, Mom and God" which MamaM bought and read after CH's recommendation over in El Pollo comments a while back.

To MamaM's ear the tone and scope of interest presented by the author bears an uncanny resemblance to some of Carol's commentary. A curiosity that could be a coinkydink or the result of admiration, but comes across as odd nevertheless.

chickelit said...

@MamaM: I remember that. I looked at it on Amazon and passed. Carol was also talking up some Polish author too. link.

I passed on that too. Vastly incurious?

The Dude said...

C-little - I was kidding. That was meant as humor. I guess it failed. So it goes.

I still find the idea of Troop and Underscore in Disney World funny.

I've felt guilty about not taking my kids to Disney World. As teens, I've said to both that I'll ask my sister to take them (she goes most years on Christmas break with her kids), and I was surprised they each said, emphatically, they had no interest in going to Disney. Go figure.

I was cured of the desire to go to Disney world when I went to the Disney exhibit at the Worlds Fair and went on the "Small World" ride. It freaked me out. It was like you were surrounded by the evil midgets of every country in the world. No thanks.

MamaM said...

@chickenlittle: Vastly incurious does not fit. Hokum and mould resistant sounds more likely.

At about the age of five I remember cowering on the floor of the Knott's Berry Farm 'Mine Ride'.

Oh, yeah, and crying at the beginning of the Disneyland Safari boat ride...the cannons scared me. I was really a wimp, now that I think about it.
