Whose that girl and why is she flaring her nostrils at me?

She has her own show and she is one nasty scary bitch. The worst of the worst. And to think she has the same job as Molly Picon used to have!

So whose that girl?

I saw Fiddler on the Roof the other day, for the first time. Yente was played by Molly Picon. She played a matchmaker, but that's acting for you, eh?

and the idea was: shark comes to the nearest man, that man he starts poundin' and hollerin' and screamin' and sometimes the shark will go away... but sometimes he wouldn't go away. Sometimes that shark he looks right into ya. Right into your eyes. And, you know, the thing about a shark... he's got lifeless eyes. Black eyes. Like a doll's eyes.

Seinfeld's female sidekick, can't think of her name. Yes, she's hard as a rock but she probably found a hard as a rock hubby and they're happy banging against each other in bed and out. That's what's so amazing about the world, like finds like no matter how much you may unlike.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus? She is married to Brad Hall. She was okay looking on the show but I can't say I think about her banging Brad Hall (or anyone else).

Now Batgirl Yvonne Craig...that is an entirely different matter.

Wikipedia is silent on "flaring nostrils".

Jimmy Wales...He's a wise guy.

I deleted a bunch of comments I made today at Althouse, all in response to her 1st Amendment hypocrisy (which I'll gladly explain).

My God she puts the "E" in EBL like I can't believe. So sad after all these years.

chickelit said...

You mean all this time we could have been friends?

Sorry, wrong threadal.

TTBurnett said...

Chickelit: Do tell. It's a smidge tedious these days to wade through an EBL comments section.

I admit to scanning the topics she covers, but I read fewer and fewer of the comments. I mean, once you've seen the topic and skimmed EBL's take on it, anyone who's been around a while can save valuable time by imagining in detail what both the EBL and her commenters might say.

In fact, I'll go further and maintain that if you scan the news and whatever's tops on Metafilter, you can pretty much compose an EBL blog in your own head, saving much time and aggravation.

I've got to say, though, that "Joe (the crypto-Jew)" had some nice things to say about Sir Archy on a slightly older thread. Joe definitely got him. The EBL seemed annoyed that Sir Archy didn't flounce off in higher style. As I recall, Sir Archy didn't flounce off at all. He just faded away, as spirits tend to do.

I decided to take a break from Althouse. I have nothing against her really. It is her place and she can run it the way she thinks best. I would just prefer not to spend time with J. If she can't control that sort of thing, why bother. Life is too fucking short.

I don't think you guys are going to guess so let me tell you this is Patti Stanger "The Millionaire Matchmaker" on Bravo TV.

She is the most hideous and vile woman on TV today.

And Rosie O'Donnell has a show now so thats saying something right there.

Rosie's a big old dyke.

I deleted my comments in a thread where Mary and I were trying to reason with Machos. I thought her comments were pretty astute and that there was no sane reason for Althouse to delete Mary, especially in view of that wretch, J. I thought if I took mine out too, Machos would look like he controlled the narrative. Performance art.

Also, what Fred said at 12:39. A little break sounds like a great idea.

Trooper York said...

Well youse guys should do whats best for youse.

I think it might turn out that only J will be left soon.

MamaM said...

Sometimes these games are hard to figure. MamaM thought Sixty won the mini date when he said "matchmaker".

Trooper York said...

Patti Stanger has this horrible show called "Millionaire Matchmaker" where she supposedly sets up Millionaires on dates. She is the ultimate horror show. She is an ignorant shrew who thinks she knows it all. Recently she was on the Bravo talk show "Watch What Happens Now" and made remarks about gays and jews that got her in a lot of trouble.

She is just about the worst person on television.

Which is tough to say when Joy Behar has a regular gig on the View.

Breaks are a good idea, unless they're in bones.

Trooper York said...

Or boners.

MamaM said...

On the other subject...running close to Patti's favorite maxim about the penis doing the picking...

Why nostrils are being flared is a good question. One that from MamaM's perspective has not yet been openly or clearly answered.

Dynamic systems require frequent consideration and reconsideration of intent, policy and behavior if they are to survive and grow.

Trooper York's recent willingness to review and restate his policy regarding freedom of expression was done in a way that reflected his previously stated values.

While goodness continues to happen over at the Other Place, so does the dark matter that reached into this blog to stir and invite change. To ignore and refuse to directly acknowledge this invitation while regarding the comments of a known other as aberrant and unappealing to the point of deletion seems random and arbitrary.

That said, incongruity is one of the tools an artist will use to invite attention and draw forth response. TY and Blogger Lady both appear skilled in the use of this tool to solicit comment and participation. How they chose to balance freedom with responsibility will reveal integrity and determine direction as they both sail on.

I always thought J made me sound reasonable. I kind of miss his hossin' around, in a wicca kind of way, Morman.

chickelit said...

Artistry is the the best explanation I suppose. I also noticed that Althouse completely disappeared one of Mary's comments--one that followed Synova's on the "Fake Artist" post. What could possibly be up there? In one case leaving a "removed by a blog administrator" residue and elsewhere removing all traces?

Odd that.

Trooper York said...

Deleting J is neither random nor arbitary. He was welcomed here and betrayed that welcome by his behavior that he continues to display over at the evil blogger lady. To accept his participation now is a choice. An explicit choice since the body of work is sufficient to be banned at least in my view.

Otherwise you are an ineffectual buffoon like Mayor Bloomberg. Just sayn'

I'll bet only Haz (and maybe Ruth Anne) would get that joke.

I thought Art worked in the sewer?

Only Ralph and Trixie would get that by the way.

When the shrill she perspires an odor
And her sullen and aborted
torrents breed tiny monsters
True viewing is dead
Awkward instant
And the first millionaire is jettisoned
Legs furiously pumping
The rich green Gallup
Talking heads bob up
Pause
Rewind
Click
Her mute nostril agony
Carefully captured
And seen over

I thought of Debbie Wasserman-Shultz.

@Chickenlittle “there was no sane reason for Althouse to delete Mary, especially in view of that wretch, J. Mary and Nina are in a big feud, threats of a lawsuit and all that. EBL is siding With Nina. No question there.

I’ve been around since 2007. Never commented very much because I was on line until after work and anything I had to say was said by others. I remember the old crowd, they were the reason I read the comments. What an awesome group but it exploded when EPL voted of Obama.

As for Bissage the Great and Terrible he just signed out for good and he explained why. He was a very funny guy. If he is still alive, I wish him well.

Interesting. I didn't know that. They can both be annoying in their own different ways. The deleted comments Mary put up on that thread were pretty well reasoned. They were on affirmative action.

I know of one or two regulars who may have left around that time but the big thing that happened was Twitter (winter 2008/spring 2009). At first, Althouse encouraged her community to follow her there and many did. But then she began openly mocking Twitter. Now, other people I respect don't like it either: Palladian & Trooper (even though the medium would perfectly suit his style & he'd probably OD or need rehab soon enough). Darcy still has his Twitter name saved. Meade tweeted for a few months but gave it up.

Twitter sort of replaced the Althouse comments for many--especially live events. There's a group of about 20 or more who all met through Althouse -many of them rarely comment on her blog anymore.

TTBurnett said...

Absolutely. And the fact that blogging has run its course. Blogs were new and cool in the early 2000's. But now my kids say, "Daaad! Blogs are for old people!"

"We don't know anybody who reads blogs! Everybody's on Facebook or forums."

Twitter? Wellll...it's okay, but it's weird and hard to put up videos of, say, the saxophone players who invaded the cafeteria last Tuesday.

That's what the kids say. In a few years, they'll be young adults and remember blogging as some Boomer foible from the Old Days.

You see, I'm an old Boomer who still has teenaged kids at home. Gives you a different perspective than Boomers who have been parents, but now remember it thru glasses of one color or another. They've raised a different generation. I'm a parent of Millennials, despite being 20 or 30 years too old.

The current generation thinks blogging is stupid. My oldest son, who is a mod on a popular gaming forum, also thinks open threads aren't "free speech," but "...really stupid, Dad. Who wants to read the crap some troll thinks up?"

Smart kid.
