We had a pretty good open thread going on CH yesterday. I wasted far too much time on it in what should have been a work day, but it was a pretty good chance to air some things, mostly about the Zimmerman case.
Well, Pastafarian put up a post this morning on "Community Introspection," where he asks how it might be possible to include perhaps more lefties and not make the place an echo chamber, especially when things get political. This is, IMHO, a very good idea. People were making a nice start contributing their ideas.
And then Inga shows up.
It's interesting how high-mindedness and love of discussion flee from your brain when a stinkbomb gets thrown in the room, and all you can do is race for the nearest exit before the stench hits your nostrils.
I think I'm just going to have to find the time to work on my own, instantly moribund blog. If nothing else, WordPress is nicely stinkbomb-proof.
Ah, wasn't a complete stink bomb after all. Everybody's going on and on about the future and direction of CM. Trooper's had some great lines/ideas. Inga and Co. are pretty limited by the volume of other comments.
Not bad for a marketing meeting. Looks like a strategic planning session where the PowerPoint presentation crashed.
Even though I'm an humble craftsman, my company is very corporate in style and management. And being a "Manager," I have sat through more planning meetings than Dilbert. Nothing against Thinking About The Future, but I get paid good money to sit through bullshit otherwise, so I'm not going to take it up as a hobby.
Yo TT: on that Zimmerman thread, I don't know if you saw it or not (when there's too much stuff flying around I lose track so I assume others do as well)-but I wasn't trying to tease out little things to impeach your comment with (or however you put it). I was trying to respond to your comment as I understood it.
Apparently either I didn't do a particularly good job reading or you didn't do a particularly clear job of writing.
I nominate you, since I'm not the only one. LOL.
But really--carrying a live round under the hammer doesn't form intent sufficient for a manslaughter charge--it's how weapons are made and how people are trained, whether they're taking a class to get their CCW or are taking one of Ayoob's LFI classes or a similar class.
And GZ was being mentored by a federal law enforcement officer.
I hate Sarah Jessica Parker, Robin Williams, Tim Robbins, Susan Saradon, the BJ Hunnicut guy, brussel sprouts, the Boston Red Sox, commies and well, lawyers.

It has been downhill ever since...
I voiced Inga as an Austrian once in case you missed it. These were her actual words, speaking to edutcher: chirbit
Darling Adolph!
Oooh! Der Führer war so schön!

This actually was not a vacation photo.
It was from "Take your Daughter to Work Day."

And it's funny: when Trooper says the same thing as other people have said first, he still gets credit for having great lines.
I guess it's the good part of being famous, huh?
Young Inga grew up and got ever more demented. Eventually she professed her admiration for Cedarford, but that was too much for Adolph.
She gets really mad when you link to pix of her family.
Keep an eye on your sudetenland.
