All hail the Phillies and kudos to the Devil Rays.

It looks like the Phillies and the Devil Rays in the World Series. Both the Red Sox and Saint Joe Torre got bitch slapped by scrappy underdogs. Sweet.

I will be rooting like my brother AJ Lynch for a Phillies sweep. Lets go Phillies.

I'd feel better if Jim Bunning was pitching game one. But I'm glad Gene Mauch isn't in the dugout. Or Clay Dalrymple behind the plate. Or Bobby Wine at short. Damn, they were pathetic when I was a kid.

Speaking of Phillies catchers, isn't McCarver about the fucking worst? He should STFU. I've had it with his over-analysis. He should thank the baby Jesus every day for Steve Carlton. Fuck him.

You were right, I feel better already

It's funny how you associate players with certain teams. And it always goes back to your childhood ya know. When I think of the Oriles
I think of Boog Powell and Brooks Robinson and Curt Bleafry. The Red Sox are always Yaz and Rico Petrocelli and Fred Lynn. The Tigers are always Norm Cash and Willie Horton and Mickey Lolich and the Bird. You see those guys when you go to the game and you expect them to come in to pinch hit or something. So it is weird to see a team like the Phillies and not know more than two or three players. Now the Devil Rays are a new team so that doesn't bother you. But I am waiting for Richie Allen to come in and pinch hit in the bottom of the ninth.

I think thats what they mean by coginitive dissonance.

I once went to Atlantic City for a card signing event with my brother right around the time Pete Rose was with the Phillies. Pete and Steve Carleton were playing blackjack for about 1,000 a hand. It was sick shit let me tell you.

Long before Pete's problem became public. He got a bag of cash for the card signing and lost it all five minutes later.

I heard Bob Gibson is still an angry guy even when he goes around collecting big bucks at card shows, etc.

Some cats never change their spots. Rose and Gibson prove that.

Go Phils!
