It's time for hot stove baseball.

It was all hot stove baseball today as the winter meetings are about to start. The only good thing I can take from a Democrat winning is that the Yankees usually win multiple championships. The Munson/Jackson/Hunter/Nettles Yankees did it with Jimmy Carter and the Jeter/Posada/Mariano/Petitite Yankees did it with Clinton.

As much as I hate to agree with that pompous load Mike Francesca, the Yankees should look for some role players to beef up the lineup. One way to go is to pick up some stars for the bench like we did when we had Wade Boggs and Cecil Fielder and Darryl on the bench for the first few championships in the last run. Then we were always picking up guys like Tim Raines and Chili Davis as vital cogs. Now they were cogs not mainstays. That is the mistake we are making with guys like Damon and Matsui. They need to be demoted to bench players and we should reach out for big time players like Manny or Matt Holliday from Colorodo.

I really miss George. If he hadn't gone senile we would have won a few more championships. Now Hank has shown a lot of promise as to his assholery and we need to let him loose. Let him take the rubber band off the check book and spend some money.

I can't wait for the winter meetings to start.
