Iceberg....Goldberg....what's the difference?

Yes there were icebergs on this trip. Iceberg wedges with blue cheese dressing and bacon sprinkled on top as the appetizer at Cagney's steak house.

Shout out to Chickie on that one.

How prescient of me!

Welcome back. The place was quiet. Nobody even drank.

I get the distinct feeling that everyone is sort of waiting for shoes to drop -- a whole bunch of shoes of every sort.

Mickey Mantle and David Crosby got put to the head of the line on the liver transplant list. You are SOL.

Mickey put his to such good use, too.

I have been doing a BLT salad. Romaine lettuce hand torn up, with thin slices of roma tomatoes, sweet onion, schreaded fennel, basil, and bacon. Lots of bacon. All crispy and chopped.

I use a lemon/olive oil dressing.

It is very popular.

Iceberg is good if you are doing a salad that has to hold up with a heavy dressing (say if you are having a party and you can't really make it right before the guests eat). It does not get soggy right away. Romaine is good for that too, it holds its crisp, but not as good as iceberg. I prefer Romaine because at least it has some flavor, iceberg is almost flavorless.
