Sixty, I made a typo. Congestive heart failure will now be CHF. I'm a horrible keyboarder. Didn't get to it until late in life.

Icepick said...

Forget the burritos, he'll just have to eat more donuts.

(Perhaps this isn't helping?)

ndspinelli said...

I should also say I told Lisa how concerned all here are and she was choked up a bit hearing that. She said she would convey that to Jim, and she thought he would post soon.

ndspinelli said...

Icepick, It will help him laugh. Docs will tell you laughter is a key component to overcoming serious illness.

ndspinelli said...

May I suggest someone, maybe chick, let the folks @ TOOP know. I don't know Lem but chick does and obviously posts there. I think we all know how Trooper feels about TOP. I wouldn't suggest any comments there.

Icepick said...

Nick, laughter isn't always the best medicine. I've had a couple of inguinal hernias in my life. After the out-patient surgery to repair the second one, I started reading a book my mother had bought me to keep me entertained: Bob Uecker's "Catcher in the Wry". Very funny, and extremely painful when you've just had an operation in the immediate vicinity of your nutsack. I have felt worse pain in my life, but only on two or three occasions.

But I've got no particular knowledge of how this works for a heart problem.

chickelit said...

I could make a post over there. Perhaps that would be best.

People will want to know how to contact him and leave messages.

chickelit said...

Perhaps we should just let people leave them there.

Darcy said...

Oh no! Thank you so much for checking on him and the update. Oh, wow. Will be praying.

And I would definitely like to be included in a group gift.

Icepick said...

People will want to know how to contact him and leave messages.

EPR, may want to keep that knowledge a little close to the vest.

chick, good idea. You can put a link to Long Island College Hospital[it's in Brooklyn]. No calls since he's in ICU. But, it is the big boys b-day tomorrow, he's 57. A card would be nice.

Cody Jarrett said...

I'd double check with him/then before I posted it at Lem's like that. I mean, if you post it at Lem's you might as well post it at TOP and yes, I'm a suspicious ass but who knows what kind of bullshit Inga or Meade might attempt. Especially given the bullshit Inga has already attempted with a couple of people.

Cody Jarrett said...

And thanks, Nick, for finding her number and finding out for us.

The Dude said...

Ingebug might slap on an adult diaper, her old, now too-tight nurse costume and start driving towards LI.

Crazier things have happened.

Cody Jarrett said...

Jesus Sixty. Some shit you just can't unsee in your mind's eye.

The Dude said...

I suggest that we exercise caution. Ingy is a bit off. Lem's place is wide open. I know I wouldn't want just anyone knowing where I was laid up.

Darcy, sure, but that's a different story.

Cody Jarrett said...

Thank you, Sixty Jarrett, for agreeing with us about that so we don't feel so isolated.

(I can't believe I did it either)

ndspinelli said...

She's an LPN, not an astronaut. I wouldn't worry much about nastiness. The most nasty might be some comments about being fat, no exercise, etc. Fuck anyone who does, and they'll be the asshole and get shitpiled.

Evi L. Bloggerlady said...

Well, at least he is in the hospital and they are dealing with it. Better it was discovered sooner, but better than them responding to a full on heart attack.

I did this post.

Evi L. Bloggerlady said...

Inga never comes by my place, and if she does I will delete her comments.

ndspinelli said...

chick and I just discussed that. We both thought it was ok. We want Jim to get cards for his b-day. That's more important than a crazy or two knowing. Jim is aa public figure from his tv show. Everyone knows his name, where he lives, etc. This hospital is just blocks from his house, it's where folks in Carroll Gardens go to the hospital.

Cody Jarrett said...

Didn't she do something shitty to Meth involving his boss or something?

I think she's proven she's unstable. Plus she's allied herself with a lawprof and her houseboy.

But that's me. When I wind up in the hospital because of the aneurysm I plan to have--I ain't tellin' nobody nothin'.

:)

Icepick said...

OMG. I just checked in, and am so sorry to hear that Trooper is really ill and not just faking it for sympathy and back rubs from Lisa.

I will pray for his swift recovery.

Now that he has been finally diagnosed correctly it is amazing what can be done. I have a friend who had a pacemaker and has been great for many years now.

No stress for a while and only minimal ball busting. We can handle that part.

The Dude said...

Can we send him a google link for his symptoms? Just sayin'...

Dust Bunny Queen said...

Good idea to let other people at TOOP know about the situation, but I would caution not to reveal much detail especially WHERE Jim is being treated. I'm like Cody, I don't trust those fuckers at Althouse any further than I could drop kick them. (Not that it wouldn't be fun to try it.)

Darcy said...

I think the post is perfect, Bruce.

If there is an email chain for whatever - group gift, updates, etc., I'd like to be on it: tennistari@hotmail.com

bagoh20 said...

Can a nurse sue a patient for sexual harassment? I think we're gonna find out.

chickelit said...

Nick, I decided to field requests for now regarding his contact info.

ndspinelli said...

Here's a thought. His b-day is tomorrow and cards just won't get there. Edible Arrangements are good quality fruit cut in decorative patterns. It's food, and healthy food. It will be something he can share w/ visitors[only family in ICU currently] and staff. Feeding staff is always wise. I bring food to the nurses station right off the bat when a loved one is in the hospital, saying it's from the patient's family. I'll be happy to handle it. Anyone who wants to chip in can send me some $ later on. Depending on how many go in will determine the amount, I see it being in the $5-10. If I order it today they say they can get it there tomorrow. I am open to other suggestions.

ndspinelli said...

chick, Good idea.

Darcy said...

That sounds lovely, Nick! I'm in.

Icepick said...

Nick & Chick, both good ideas. I'm in on the fruit basket. I'll email you to find out where to send money.

chickelit said...

Nick, count me in for $10.

bagoh20 said...

Count on me for $10 for whatever you decide to do.

The Dude said...

How about a box of cigars? Everyone likes cigars!

ndspinelli said...

Sixty, He didn't have a baby, he just looked pregnant.

Evi L. Bloggerlady said...

ndspinnelli, give me a mailing address (you can email me at evilbloggerlady@gmail.com) and I will get you $10. A fruit basket it good. They also have treats that are actually tasty that are heart healthy.

MamaM said...

I'm in. Lisa likes fruit. She's in this with him. One of her fears, mentioned here before, has been the fear that she'd lose him early, so she's walking through that fear as she supports him, and we support and encourage the two of them, through contact, thoughts and prayers for healing, wisdom strength and courage.

rcocean said...

Damn, I just read about this. Mrs. RC and I will include Jim in our prayers.

Thanks to Ndspinnelli for keeping us up to date.

Cody Jarrett said...

Nick, how does us stoopid ones contact you to get you the cash? You got the paypal?

Cuz I'm in for at least ten.

rcocean said...

Nick, so how can get the money to you?

Chip S. said...

Cripes, this is terrible news! Tho of course it's good that the blogfather is getting proper treatment.

Thoughts and prayers, big guy.

I think the Yanks' elimination from the playoffs may have been the last straw.

ndspinelli said...

Folks, Let me just get a head count before you send me money. It won't be over $10, maybe less. I'm going to just have it be from all of us. Good folk having money problems don't need to sweat it. I'm no socialist, but I coached baseball for 30 years. We're a team and everybody is included. We'll work out the logistics later. So, just tell me if you can contribute. Thanks, much

yashu said...

Oh god, just saw this.

We love you, Trooper. You've come to mean a lot to me. We, the flock of black sheep here, would be lost without you. So get well & take care of yourself, big guy.

The Dude said...

I'm good for a ten spot. Troopski has provided me with at least ten bucks worth of entertainment over the decades.

Michael Haz said...

Before anything else: Prayers for you, Jim and Lisa.

About sending a gift to Trooper - having been in an ICU for heart stuff, I can tell you that it may be better to wait until he is back home. Most hospitals don't allow gifts, especially food, to be brought into an ICU. Even if the food is healthy-looking. They carefully monitor the patients calories in, fluids out, and so forth. Plus, if the gift is something that Lisa might have to take home, that's just more stuff for her to have to deal with.

When the gift is figured out, I am absolutely in. Anyone who doesn't already have my contact info can DM me on twitter.

It sounded like CHF to me when Troop listed his symptoms. Mrs. Haz had CHF a few years back, and that described how she felt. In her case the root cause was a bad valve, easily repaired with surgery. Everyone has different circumstances, though.

I think it best not to publish anything about Trooper anywhere else. If it's mentioned on Lem's, then People who don't especially like him will have an opportunity to kick up a ruckus. I'd suggest revising the posts here that name the hospital where he has been admitted. His heart ain't going to get better if A&M send flowers, ya know? Most of his close blog friends are on his blog, anyway. That's how he wanted it.

bagoh20 said...

Anybody know how to get ahold of Betty Rubble?

The Dude said...

I spent 5 days in CICU after having my mitral valve repaired. After four days of no food I would have killed for a bowl of plain white rice.

Good thing I was too weak to fight.

Haz is correct - better to ship foodstuffs to his house. A fruit basket with veal hidden underneath the inedible stuff.

Send flowers - they have very low caloric content. Or a card. I could write the caption.

Cody Jarrett said...

Yeppers.

what Haz etc said.

KCFleming said...

I'm in for 10.

Agree about waiting though, it'll be et by the nurses.

Michael Haz said...

I gotta say this, friends, unless you have express permission from Trooper or Lisa to put up a post about his medical condition anywhere but on his own blog, which is mostly private, you are violating the guy's medical privacy.

You might think about that a bit. Not trying to be a jerk here, but you do need his permission.

Methadras said...

my love and prayers to you and your family troop. Hang in there dude.

Methadras said...

Darcy said...

And I would definitely like to be included in a group gift.

Same. I nominate a box of donuts and a case of yohoo's for troop.

Methadras said...

Spinelli, I'll pony up $20. Let me know when and how. Thank you.

rcocean said...

Put me in for $10. I'll let you guys with more CHF experience -and know Trooper personally - decide how, what, and when.

TTBurnett said...

I'll pony up $10, too, for whatever we decide.

And, definitely, no mention of this on any other social media.

Prayers and every good wish for Jim and Lisa.

The Dude said...

Too late - it's all over the place. I sure hope permission was sought and granted.

ndspinelli said...

Well, the gift has been sent to Trooper @ the hospital. When I spoke w/ Lisa she had just gone home to shower and change, she's basically living @ the hospital. So, if it's not allowed, Lisa can take it home, to the shop, or give it to the staff. As I said, feeding the staff is always smart.

If you want to see what we sent just go to Edible Arrangements. It is the Fruit Festival/Dipped Strawberries Basket[Regular]. With delivery and NY Commie tax the total is $116.52. I've received one of these and it's quite nice. I tried to add some figs[they both love them] but no go.

The card says: Trooper, Happy Birthday from all @ the blog/bar. We have all prayed for you and Lisa. We know that your positive attitude and humor will get you through this, in spite of Obamacare. Love, Your Loyal Troops

When I spoke w/ Lisa, I asked her if it was ok to post about the medical stuff and she said, "Of course." I understand Haz's concern about Lem's, but I wouldn't sweat it. Trooper has more important stuff on his mind. As I said, if someone is nasty there will be hell to pay.

TTBurnett said...
This comment has been removed by the author.
ndspinelli said...

And, now the bozo will know how much his b-day present costs. Medical stuff, gifts, etc., it's not realistic to keep it secret under these circumstances. And, it's not like he has throat cancer from too much oral sex.

TTBurnett said...

Great work, Nick. So, how do we help w/the bill?

Dust Bunny Queen said...

Ditto on the bill. Do you have paypal or something?

ndspinelli said...

Tim, As I've said, I just need a head count and we'll split it equally. My bride has a Paypal account for those who also have one, or set up one. And, I'll give my address. But, for now, I just am counting heads.

ricpic said...

Wow, congestive heart failure. Bad. But not insurmountable. Out with the pasta, in with the brown rice. Who do I mail the ten bucks to?

Cody Jarrett said...

Nick, how about you just give the paypal and we all send you 5 or 10 or 20, and if there's money left over, we can send him something else in a week or two when he's home and bored out of his head?

Something as simple as an Amazon gift card so he can fill his kindle with those trashy bodice rippers he loves so much.

blake said...

I'm in for whatever.

My dad had CHF for 15 years, while on dialysis and had more heart attacks than Dick Cheney. It still took 15 years for the old corpus to give out--and he smoked the whole time.

So, yeah. I think he'll be fine.

ndspinelli said...

You folks are all very generous and anxious to give. That is one reason why I love this place. I just know some folks can be wary, so I wanted to have an accounting up front. I will make sure all dollars go to the patient in any way we all think makes sense. I simply didn't want to presume all would trust me. Although I know who I am, some don't know me much. I respect that. My brides paypal is leslyns@gmail.com. If you need her account name it is, leslyn spinelli. My address is 435 Lori Lane Cottage Grove, Wi. 53527. Thanks to all for your kindness. I know this means a lot to both Jim and Lisa.

KCFleming said...

Thanks for doing that, spinelli.
It was very kind, and necessary.

The Dude said...

Now please forward your date of birth, SS number, mother's maiden name, bank account number and all your passwords and we will be good to go.

I know you have all of ours...

Cody Jarrett said...

Sent to the lovely and gracious Mrs. Spinelli's paypal.

bagoh20 said...

Thanks Spinellis. You've been Paypaled.

bagoh20 said...

I always imagine Spinelli is watching me, and I often flash him, which my neighbors are getting pretty tired of.

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

Troop - much love and best wishes and prayers for your health in the future.

Count me in, Nick, Tim. I'll send something to the address (or paypal, if I can figure it out) that you've provided.

Cody Jarrett said...

Michael Haz said...

Gift sent via Leslyn's PayPal account! Thank you Nick and Leslyn for doing this.

I was going to have Marco Polo deliver a case of bottled sparkling water and one olive with a note "the Italian weight loss diet" on it. Too cruel?

Michael Haz said...

An easy way to send a card to TY would be sending it tot he address for the dress shop.

Dust Bunny Queen said...

chickelit said...

I just hit the paypal for $10

chickelit said...

The regime they're going to put him on post-release is going to be cruel.

bagoh20 said...

Half of Trooper's posts make me say to myself: "That lucky SOB. I wanna be there, eating and drinking that." The other half make wish I was young, handsome and back in 60s, or a well hung cartoon character.

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

Technically Bag, you've got a whole glider wing hanging down from your body on that avatar-ized photo of yours there.

bagoh20 said...

From the top view my glider says: "VIAGRA".

ndspinelli said...

Wow, We're already up to $170. Maybe a lap dance w/ the extra? Actually, someone suggested and Amazon gift card, which I think is a good one. However, any other thoughts? You are good people!

Cody Jarrett said...

Maybe we could get enough over to get Lisa a massage or something?

Icepick said...

I do think the second gift should wait until they get home. And I like Cody's idea of a gift just for Lisa.

MamaM said...

Once again, I'm right behind you, Icepick.

With the amount of contributions being offered, it sounds as if two gifts might be possible: the fruit arrangement already on it's way, and something later at home. As I sit here, poleaxed and without words myself, it's worth it to me to send funds to someone who's willing to do the footwork and collection in order to help express what's in my heart.

@Nd, Regardless of who ultimately partakes of or uses the gift you already sent, it serves as a symbol of care and presence. Thank you for working this out. (Paypal has been notified, and if more coverage is needed, put out the word.)

I'm also thankful for the encouragement here that prompted ND to make the call, and grateful for the way his recent visit with TY and Lisa paved the way for him to contact her and be a voice Lisa was able to recognize and trust.

ndspinelli said...

Cody, That's also a good idea. They got massages on the cruise and I doubt that was Trooper's idea. Most of us unfortunately know the stress of having a spouse, parent, child, in the hospital and how stressful that is. I like both the Amazon and massage ideas, keep them coming.

Chip S. said...

nick, thanks for being the point man on this. I don't have secure net access for the time being, but will get something to you somehow.

Cody's got a good idea for the second gift.

Michael Haz said...

Nick - will there be enough left over for a new pair of Crocs and a couple of boxes of wine?

ndspinelli said...

ChipS, Don't sweat it. The big boy will get the fruit basket on his birthday. The other gift can be when they get home and situated. We are currently @ $240, so this very generous group has more than doubled what we needed for the Edible Arrangement. This tough PI is almost tearful from this loving response. This is a great group.

ndspinelli said...

Haz, Hell, we can buy a lot of box wine. The cardboard makes it even more heart healthy.

ndspinelli said...

I appreciate the thanks from all. However, it was really easy. And, when it's someone you care for it is a joy to do.

Cody Jarrett said...

You need a hug, Spinelli?

ndspinelli said...

Not an awkward man hug!

Cody Jarrett said...

Heh.

Don't blame you.

chickelit said...

@Spinelli, you're a great friend of Troop to organize all that. Great talking with you too -- I detected a hint of Wisconsin accent -- how long have you lived behind the Cheddar Curtain?

ndspinelli said...

chick, I've been in the land flowing w/ cheese and beer since 1983. It will be 30 years next month, Yah hey.

N D Spinellli,

I don't have a Paypal anymore. Would you be willing to send me a PayPal bill for $20 to my email address? I'm at ruth_anne_adams@hotmail.com. That way I can contribute and not enroll in PayPal. Long story about Chinese hackers and Filipino airlines...

If not, I will send an Amazon gift to Lisa at the shop. No prob either way, but I wanted to be part of the group gift if possible.

Ruth Anne Adams said...

ndspinelli said...

Ruth Anne, I'll have my bride do that. She tutors 2nd graders in the morning but will be home this afternoon. Just look for her email. Damn Chinks!!

ndspinelli said...

Chick, Karma? I don't think so. Maybe ying/yang. I balance your unabashed love of Wi. w/ some perspective.

Dust Bunny Queen said...

I vote for an amazon gift card as we know that Trooper likes to read and watch movies. I love my Amazon Prime membership: kindle books and we rarely watch the regular television anymore. Plus for someone who will be convalescing reading and watching shows is a restful thing to do.

ndspinelli said...

I'm looking for a poll worker. Everyone who wants to vote, Amazon or massage, votes and the poll worker volunteer will tabulate the votes. The poll worker cannot be from Chicago.

ndspinelli said...

However, we may have enough to do both. But, knowing the vote will still help in deciding the allocation of both gifts.

TTBurnett said...

I agree w/DBQ. Amazon gift card would be perfect.

Darcy said...

I sent 10 through Paypal and will be happy to send more at anytime - it was just convenient since that was my Paypal balance.

Thanks Nick!

Darcy said...

Sent 10 more. I didn't know it was that easy. lol

Michael Haz said...

Nick - My contribution is on the way to Leslyn's PayPal account. My PayPal account was dormant, so it will take until 10/1 for the $$ to arrive.

When I had open heart in '07 a lovely blog/twitter friend arranged for people I had never met (other than online) to send me a gift. It was very greatly appreciated, and the memory of peoples kindness and grace remains with me everyday.

I know that Jim and Lisa will appreciate our gifts, and for your arranging for them to be sent, in ways we may not understand. It will mean a lot to them now, and going forward.

Cody Jarrett said...

Since both the Amazon gift card for Trooper Doofus and the massage (or something nice, but I'm pretty sure she could use a massage by now) for Lisa were my ideas--I vote for both of them.

So if there's a gap in the club's kitty, let me know, I can cover it.

And let's not forget--something that makes Lisa feel better is also a gift for The Trooper.

Do we know, though, if she already has a go to massage person in the neighborhood? I'd hate to set her up with a place that had a good yelp rating that she hates because who knows why that's why.

Ya knows?

Darcy said...

That's such a great idea, Cody. You are very thoughtful! I was going to type "and apparently very hairy". I'm glad I didn't.

I know that people who like massages seem to REALLY like them, so I did finally have one. It was a very strange experience for me. My masseuse was this very butch looking woman with tats and rings everywhere. I was terrified, to be honest. But that was a silly reaction - she was really cool and we chatted non-stop.

I did not end up a fan of massages, though. My lower back hurt for weeks after that.

Dust Bunny Queen said...

I'm with Darcy on the massage thingy. Not a fan. My husband very sweetly and thoughtfully bought me one and I didn't have the heart to tell him that I hated it. It felt like I had been beat with a ball peen hammer for about a week afterward.

But, it seems that Lisa and Jim enjoy them. To each his own, I say.

Michael Haz said...

DBQ - Ditto on the massage thing.

However.....we bought a massage table and a book and learned to massage each other. Waaay better.

Cody Jarrett said...

Well Darc, the other day I did compare myself to Hamish, so hairy is...you know, it is.

LOL

Everyone's got personal tastes in massage. Friend of mine can't stand anything more than the hot stone type of spa massage.

I've got a good friend who's a masseuse and she's a wonderful person, but she's got it in her head that I don't need deep work, so she won't do it. I always tell her...look at me...LOL. If you're not using your elbows I'm not feelin' it.

Rolfing is the best. Even though it's not technically massage. My rolfer stands on me and uses bodyweight to dig into spots. That's awesome.

Trigger point dry needling is pretty bad ass too.

Cody Jarrett said...

Part of the problem is that they teach all these techniques and people get confused by them. Shiatsu, sports, deep tissue...there's some Hawaiian bone massage out there now...where they actually want to reach through the layers to the fascial/attachment stuff that holds the muscles to the bone...and move that...

If you're not used to a massage and someone does the deep tissue or an aggressive sports massage, it's not going to feel very good, at the time or later.

And yeah, one time I had my hamstrings so sore after I couldn't bend over to put my shoes on the next day.

It was brilliant!

Darcy said...

Michael, you and Mrs. Haz rock!

And DBQ - mine was a gift too. I lied. :)

Cody, that's very interesting. I used to have a chiropracter that would bend me up like a pretzel and then get on top of me to crack my back. I loved that, but it wasn't a tissue thing, it was my bones, right? Anyway, I can't imagine many people liking that style of chiro. I'm getting that there's a wide range of techniques/styles in massage as well.

Cody Jarrett said...

My chiro is an ex powerlifter who still sort of keeps his hand in the game. 6'1 or so, 240ish.

He has to do that sort of thing with me to get mine to move sometimes. Then he comes at me like Hulk Hogan off the top rope.

Good times.

Darcy said...

Yep. I miss that!

ndspinelli said...

Haz, I hope you're not having TIA's. Someone named Michael Has.... sent a nice contribution. I assumed that was you?

Methadras said...

Nick, I sent the $20 via paypal. Thanks again for doing that. Appreciate it.

ndspinelli said...

This nearby spa has the full range of girly girl stuff, massages, pedicures, facials, etc. So, maybe a gift card and she can choose whatever she wants. But, I will ask Lisa first to make sure. The cash continues to come in. I feel like Jerry Lewis. We need to get Trooper to come out in a wheelchair, WITH HIS ROBE CLOSED! Trooper and I have discussed the fact that we both married up. And, we therefore want to please our brides, because as Cody said, that is a gift to us. I am much happier seeing those I love get gifts, than receiving them myself. I'm actually a horrible gift receiver. I need a good shrink.

Michael Haz said...

Nick - that's me. Perhaps PayPal got its act together earlier than they promised.

chickelit said...

We need to get Trooper to come out in a wheelchair, WITH HIS ROBE CLOSED!

If he gets a pacemaker, I'm sure he'll want to pull an LBJ and show us the scar.

Cody Jarrett said...

Well he's already flashed his boobies at us repeatedly, so...unless they hire that same surly black guy to install the thing as they had do the initial exam, it should be okay, right?

Icepick said...

Actually, I'm not a fan of getting massages, either, so I'd probably just vote for the Amazon card. But the thing is that I do think Lisa needs a gift of her own. Doing the whole hospital thing is a drag on her side of it, too.

...

Nick, did mine come through? I know that PayPal SAID it went through, but ....

ndspinelli said...

Icepick, Check your email, we did get it and thanks.

ndspinelli said...

Ruth Anne, My bride sent you a $20 bill as you requested.

JamesR said...

Nick,

I emailed Leslyn yesterday from my gmail account saying I would mail a check, since I don't have a PayPal account.

But this morning the wife reminded me that she has one. So $20 is headed your way from marymftm.

Wallflower Jim.

ndspinelli said...

James, We got it, thanks much! Tell your wife I had to "get religion" regarding lifestyle because of diabetes and a family history of stroke. For me, exercise was key. Walking a bit more daily. I now walk 5,8,10 miles a day and miss it when I don't. That allows some indulgences. When we feel we are depriving ourselves it is counterproductive. I'm reading a book called Willpower: [And a bunch of other words] by a Stanford professor. It is a fascinating book for anyone, but prescient for your wife.

ndspinelli said...

JamesR, I just got it up on my kindle, It's: The Willpower Instinct by Kelly McGonigal.

I just "got it up on my kindle" doesn't mean I was reading porn.

Thanks Nick,

I will go down on, I mean down load it on my Ipad which I use as a Kindle, instead of the Kindle. I had one, but I got rid of it. Because being a type A, impatient asshole, I don't like how slowly the Kindle pages turn. Am I the only one who feels that way about Kindle? Probably.

Jim, My wife sorta did. I inherited the kindle from her. She has an iPad now.

RuthAnne, We got your donation. Since we billed you, I was afraid I would have to come collect if you didn't pay. I would have hated to break your thumb.
