Well, that's the part where I laughed, but I'm really here to add to the New Name For Lem's Place List:

The Tool Shed

Tool Shed is a good name.

Michael Haz, I do not need to know.

My suggestion was Meade's Litter Box, but I am trying to be more positive.

That fuckin' worthless cunt Meade just went after Palladian saying that he took money for artwork that he didn't produce. The guy said he was basically homeless and all of his goods were in storage until the start of the school year when he would have some money to get situated.

That guy is the fuckin worst of the worst. He begs for money for his fuckin slatternly twat of a meal ticket but begrudges the few bucks he sent to someone who is down on their luck. What a fuckin cunt.

Which thread?

Chip S. said...

Today, on Blogs of Our Lives....

Fueled by rage and alcohol, Ann blurts out the shocking truth about her childhood.

Laurence is sent reeling by Ann's revelation and goes wandering through the streets of Salem on a drunken binge, berating everyone he encounters.

"Witches! You're all witches!" he cries into the night.

"Which thread?"

A Portrait of the Vortex.

Trooper York said...

It is simply unbelievable. I mean I knew he was a worthless cocksucker but this off the chart fucked up.

Words fail me.

The Dude said...

But Meade pays his butt boy Lem a dollar a week! His mommy gives him a dollar to go play in traffic. He doesn't tell her that he is a bad bad boy.

Trooper York said...

And people still defend him and that peroxide garden gnome he married.

What the fuck.

The Dude said...

I know you don't want to hear it, but Lem is a total douche. He has one rule - do not pick on Meadey or Inga.

Fuck him and his weak-ass blog.

Dust Bunny Queen said...

The thread topic over at Lem's is a masterful strategy by our very own Pollo Raylan. It is bait for Meade to come and show his own true colors.

@ Sixty. I know. The stupid, the weakness, the pussidom ....it burns!!! But here is what I have learned in my years and how to get even......OK not not JUST even, WIN!!!...it takes time and stealth. Meade is a sociopath. We have to learn to deal with him on his own turf and this latest move is a stroke of genius to draw him out and and reveal his true colors. It is (to quote Titus) fabulous.

Patience.

Lol. Blogs of Our Lives...

Not sure what to make of Lem (thought he was just a harmless, if hapless drunk a while ago), let alone what kind of a deal with the devil he would have made, it could be a fun place. Obviously they've got seven others, including Chickie. It's their decision how to treat the duckweed (and yes, yashu - his presence is an insult to dicks. That's a great line).

Anyway, Sixty provided a great link that I researched further. Didn't want to link it there since I'm trying to keep my nose clean. I had enough of a fun time bloodying that bastard's nose on Sunday, and said enough of a peace to last for ten lifetimes. If they're still confused whose the bitch, that's on them, but I don't want to do too much scuffling. You know I can and you know that, despite what Deborah says, I was never "willingly" played by them.

But it's a question of what I'll take part in turning it into. There's a balance between nice fun and fecklessness and obviously Fuckface Laurence is determined to destroy it.

Either that or he did just have one weekend too many of no Cialis refills or a wine box that ran out.

Whatever.

Falling like a rock...

(Remember that Chevy commercial w/Bob Seger?)

I admire your guys' integrity more and more each day. This episode is revealing the worst in people and yet there are still some who choose to focus on the bystanders. Human behavior is fascinating.

Good Lord. Whose telephone number got published?

Slamming Palladian when he's struggling is such a low-class bullying play its unthinkable that a reasonable guy would do it. Bless Ari and Allen for jumping in.

Meade's behavior, if he's that away at home, is abusive. Maybe Althouse is a victim? Remember how drugged and manipulated she looked in that vlog?

Maybe her saying "I just want to write" is her really telling him "just leave me alone."

Dust Bunny Queen said...

@ Yashu Having once been in a similar type of relationship I also share your concerns for her mental and possibly physical well being. Isn't it weird to be concerned about people that you have never met and will likely never have any interaction with.

As to Ritmo. I have been at odds but as you know I admire a good debate and masterful trolling abilities.

There's a balance between nice fun and fecklessness and obviously Fuckface Laurence is determined to destroy it.

I agree. You can disagree without being an evil vindictive a-hole. There are many ways to make your point and verbally demolish your opponent. It was a really low blow what Meade did to Palladian and illustrates his total lack of morals.

Sociopath. Doesn't mean Ted Bundy. Can often just be the guy next door.

@ Sixty. Oh. I'm not making Palladian out to be some sort of martyr. Who knows the reality of what our lives are really like.

But. The low blow, to try to hit a vital spot or sore spot, is just indicative to the lack of moral character on the part of Meade.

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

Aridog typed his phone number out into a comment to let Potato Guy know that he was available to talk to him in person.

I'm pretty sure that Althouse is a narcissist, if not a malignant narcissist. (Or whatever the proper terminology is). Whatever Meade is, he's a bit of a doofus. Not as intelligent as her. Whether he was always a bitch or her personality defect has worked its black magic into his soul is for others to guess. Troop knew the guy once, so he's in a better position to say than I.

All I know is that I hated the bitch ever since about a few months of reading, and realizing what a hysterical fraud she was. I took issue with a post or two, and quickly found out that she could never relent. (Serious bloggers admit error - or at least engage the argument). I found that perplexing, especially when combined with her willingness to shock, and the rest is history. All y'all's know it.

I don't need to go into the rest. I never knew who was to blame for whatever I didn't like, but over time her own defects became clearer to me. Probably by about 2008, when it seemed like she was running a Jerry Springer show. Complete with the cheering fans. Lawnboy achieved ringside status shortly before or thereafter, he did some things that made me think he was a bit nicer, and either the bitch warped him (and obviously his simple mind helps if I'm going to blame his warpedness on her) or he always had some bit of it in him. Troop would know better.

What do I care and how is this anything other than predictable? If you've ever met a narcissist, her behavior is textbook. She's an empty person. Who knows what he's got in him, other than a need to feed a black hole. For chrissakes, she calls all her self-induced swirlies of drama "vortices" (plural of "vortex") for crying out loud.

It's all predictable. The only thing I got out of it was a chance to verbally sucker punch him all up and down that blog Sunday. So I've had my fill. It's like any reason they ever gave me to tell it like it is over the last 5 years I finally took out.

What's in it now for me? Not much. I was enjoying the Chickie thread. If he's throwing bait, if Mr. Potato-Head's appearances are now inevitable, who knows? It is sad as anything. I was really appreciating being a part of the good side of what the commenters (now bloggers) brought, and finally came to terms with what a determined troll (and not just an agitator for honesty) can do. The chip on his shoulder is the size of Montana.

I have a clean conscience. There's some vindication here, and I just wanna have good clean fun. I'll tear him a new asshole over and over again, if they don't want, as many times as they'll let me.

But it really does get kind of boring. That bastard just makes everything too fucking easy.

If you want my opinion, Meade's too stupid and transparent to be a narc. Or much of anything, really. He's just playing his part in the drama that his penis and his ego convinced him was the role of a lifetime.

Enjoy it while you can, chump.

Fuck him. Seriously. He's too much of a loser to waste any words on, let alone this many.

Troop, at some point anyone in these corners of blogland is just going to have to find a way to be above it. Don't their pathologies become predictably boring after a while?

I hear you, DBQ - as I said, I was just feeling a bit bad for mocking him earlier.

Now twice in one day I have been tied to comments by Meade - if nothing else I need to reflect on what kind of jackwad I am being if there is not a dime's worth of difference between us in comment land.

But it sure is fun posting those graphs - which clearly I can't read. LOL!

At this point, I can't see any diff b/w them. If Mary is deletion-worthy, then so is Meade.

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

Yeah, it's getting just plain filthy. Meade really is a bully of the worst sort.

I've had my words with Palladian and Sixty's got a point but cruelty is cruelty. He's got a good side to him as well. Regardless, no need to judge the man when the point here is Meade's evil.

It's just plain sick to watch. I got the Hannah Arendt thing out of me re: banality already. But this part is the nauseating part. Makes you wish you could do something.

Meade is a bastard.

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

At least I got to follow-up Allen's comment re: battle armor with a link to Jim Parsons trouncing around in plate mail from his movie with Zach Braff.

Watch it. Take a look at what Meade really is. The funniness of what a tool is helps take the sting of his revolting self away.

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

Lol, I know. What's up with the two consonant clusters separated by a letter that's only technically a vowel and both with h's? Plus, thm? Really? What kind of a messed up English way is it to spell that?

I really though tonight would be more fun. How damn depressing, what that guy did.

Why don't we just all go over there and throw verbal rocks at Meade? Don't you wish you could do something? This is really starting to feel depressing, no? Is it really just me?

I think Troop really feels let down to see Meade show colors this dark.

But this is how I got into so much trouble over all those years - being too compelled to action. All they need to do is say the word but I prefer showing them that I can be restrained. Thanks for letting me vent and figure all this out here.

But there really are no answers. Cruelty is cruelty. I wish more can be done but I'll follow theirs and your leads.

Now as for that Altazon portal revenue....

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

Gotcha, Evi.

I guess the only thing that confused me (other than Potato Head's subterfuge) is when the recent numbers will reflect what the rolling averages show.

But then, if you go to the prediction matrix, the amount of predicted traffic drops off steadily based on whether you are going by traffic in the last month, week or day, respectively. Meaning that each smaller unit of time shows the amount of traffic you can predict over the next month becomes progressively less.

If that's not a sign of steady and consistent loss, then I wouldn't know what is.

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

Ok, Chip. That's what I was talking about.

But this matrix/grid shows that the amount of predicted traffic keeps getting lower depending on how recent the numbers are.

That seems to be a solid prediction of steady loss over time.

What Meade did to Palladian was shocking. It took me a while to even process it. If he went tong and hammer with any of us, meh. We can all hold our own. But with a guy who is obviously in a fragile state? That is shameful.

TTBurnett said...

Meade's behavior tonight towards Palladian, everything considered, is the most shocking thing I've seen on the internet.

You know, I hold a lot of things against him, but Palladian's current economic condition is not one of them. Many, many people might find themselves in such a pickle. I know, for example, several very good, conservatory-trained musicians with advanced degrees and superb skills who are, if not homeless, at least in very straightened circumstances. Art is a cruel mistress, especially in these times. I am in the fortunate position of being somewhere between art and manufacturing, making musical instruments. But the company I work for and all of us who work for it are dependent on a decent economy and the willingness of people to spend money on music. That can go away, and it has gone away, so my world, seemingly middle-class and respectable, is always skating on a thin edge.

That's true of anyone in the dreaded private sector who tries to make anything and sell it. Some of us find ourselves in better circumstances now, but those could change tomorrow, and my happy world as paterfamilias of college-and-prep-school teenagers could collapse in a few months.

So, let's not dump on Palladian, but see if there's anything we can do to give him a hand. There may not be, but at least we ought to know if it's possible.

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

It really was as if he wanted to see how far to the brink he could batter him. It was vicious and savage.

I never trusted them. When someone asks for your email address, you say, "Why?" And then make sure they give you an honest reason for why they should be thought of as trustworthy.

They never did that. It was always kind of "You'll see!"

Evil worms. Really.

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

And all just to prove the pettiest of points.

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

Tim is right. I'd be more than happy to send a money order to wherever it needs to go.

I told him that way back when.

He has a lot of pride, and took it the wrong way, but I think he realizes that kindness is better than pride now. It's unfortunate if that's what it took, but that was never my point.

He knows that now, I think.

TTBurnett said...

Links? Not to pry, but I'm wondering how much is needed. That will indicate the chance of success. Ron, for example, obviously needed too much, and even though I contributed something, it was obvious it wouldn't work.

OTOH, I know a struggling author who needed about $3000, and she was able to raise it among her online friends, myself included. If Palladian needs, say, $20,000, the chances are slim he could raise that on the internet by Aug. 6. Several thousand would be more plausible. But, I for one, do want to know, because if it looks realistic, I'll stretch more than for mere or likely symbolism.

I've started a new WordPress blog, "Old Friends and New" as an alternative to the mess at Lem's. For the next few days, I will moderate comments. After that, people with previously approved comments will be able to post freely. It's a little inconvenient at first, but is the easiest way to preserve the flow of unmoderated Blogger blogs and yet smoothly keep control and exclude bad actors.

Another charming thing about WordPress is that blog authors can edit others' comments. I can hardly wait for Mead to show up. I'll be thrilled to approve his comment and let Trooper and Ritmo decide what he REALLY means to say ;->

Anyway, it's basic right now and still a personal, one-man blog, but that could change if people are interested. I will be happy to add other authors as things progress.

Also the theme kinda sucks, but what do you want in 5 minutes? There are other looks readily available.

Y'all are beautifully illustrating a point I made to Darcy not too long ago:

The Althouse blog is not a community.

In the 6-7 years that I read it, I can never once recall her rallying around a member who needed help.

Certainly it's not that we all aren't willing, as this thread illustrates clearly. But a blog like, say, Ace of Spades HQ, will have a constant flow of community-based posts and messages. Hell, every week, there's a book blog that features books "by morons".

Hell, just look here: We've bought stuff from Troop, we've bought Nick's missus' book, Troop front-pages everyone in ways that aren't about Troop or the store.

That's a community. It's kind of the point of being online.

Well, that and I guess, playing "Candy Crush".

I've got to go to work, but I want to tell you I've thought a lot of this stuff about Meade was over the top. Frankly, it looked to me like Althouse had legitimate reasons to do what she did. I WAS 9 years. Enough can be enough. Plus whatever serious trolling she was subjected to (posting several times a minute, etc.) seemed beyond the usual stuff we've seen since the beginning. Althouse obviously had a troll-gardenish relationship with the Luckyoldsons of the world and his follow-ons, much as we may have felt jerked around by it. But something new may indeed have been happening, so I gave them the benefit of doubt when it came to whatever heaving blanket they found themselves sitting on.

However, things have taken the weirdest possible turn, and I don't know what to think. If they were having trouble with "Mary" and perhaps some other organized trolling we don't know about, that should be unrelated to the rest of the commenting schlubs. The lumpencommentariat may or may not have their various gripes with Althouse. That's to be expected, and part of normal interaction. But to go hammer and tong after everybody for the merest mention of Althouse, well, that is seriously wrong. There really is something awful going on here. Whether Meade is a grifter, as Trooper says, or he is sincere or at least sane and just handling the situation in the worst possible way, I don't know.

But I do know we've got to do something to preserve what remains of the extraordinary Althouse community. I don't know if my little WordPress blog, with its better security, will help. But I'll give it my best shot. In the next day or two, I'll drift over to Lem's and announce it.

Anyway, I've got to go to work!

Looks like Palladian's on the brink of a breakdown thanks to Meade.

I've stayed out of this ruckus for the most part. Made a couple of disparaging, general comments against Meadehouse, but this isn't my fight. I recognize many of the names, but not all.

Anyhow, this remark by Chip resonated with me. I don't take this internet stuff very seriously, and have previously dismissed those who do. But, Palladian's crisis and pain are real. The guy sounds (from the reports here--I've not visited Lem's place past the first couple of days he set up shop) desperate.

Blogs, facebook, Twitter, and other social media are ways to connect with others. When television became popular, I'm sure there were critics who lamented its rise in popularity. "Back when I was a kid, we listened to the radio."

When radio emerged, I'm sure it had its share of naysayers. "Back when I was a kid, we read books." And so the cycle goes. "Back when I was a kid, we played in the dirt." "Back when I was a kid, we didn't have time to play." "Back when I was a kid, we spent all our time either running from predators or chasing our dinner." It's easy to dismiss the idle past times of others as shallow and insignificant.

So, it's 2013, and we have something called the internet, and people connect with others they normally would never meet. We can google phrases and become mini-experts on a subject in 30 minutes.

All that to say that Palladian and others who are truly upset with the drama unfolding in the aftermath of Meadehouse's childish meltdown are deserving of a measure of sympathy. It's a high-tech version of human rejection, betrayal, deceit, and manipulation, but in its stripped down definition, there are real people behind the screen names who are inflicting pain on others purposely. Sad.

Now, after my heartfelt comment to Tim, I have to put my professional hat on, so please don't be angry. I have agreed w/ Trooper that Meade is a grifter. I'll go over there and give my assessment afterward. But, I would like your takes. I don't know Palladian well, if @ all. I remember few if any exchanges w/ him. He was one of the many commenters I would skip over most the time. Could this be a scam? I've worked cases involving scams, this has that scent.

Aridog put his own name and phone number up--is it still there?

I hope so. I was planning to call him up today to straighten him out about the VAT.

Darcy said...

So glad to hear that you're in touch with Palladian, Bruce. I worried, but if he's responding to email then I won't worry as much.

Chip S. said...

Could this be a scam?

Seemed real to me. OTOH, I'll admit that at one point I did wonder if the two of them were collaborating on a script to show Lem's commenters what it felt like to be on the receiving end of really rough comments, in order to generate some sympathy for AA.

But since Meade hasn't followed up on that, I don't think so.

Evi L. Bloggerlady said...

ndspinelli, I admit I thought that, are Palladian and Meade in cahoots? But reading those threads I can't see either of them coming up with something like that. For what purpose? To solicit a few bucks and some emails?

Obviously use common sense and caution, but I think Palladian is truly down on his luck and Meade is a mini thug tyrant.

Evi L. Bloggerlady said...

This latest from Meade was revealing. Some people are just bad. Meade is one of them.

Palladian was never afraid to throw haymakers in the comments himself. But what Meade did to Palladian is just fucking unbelievable.

I'm registered to comment at Insty's. Now I have to sit quietly until in have an Insty-worthy comment to make.

Michael Haz said...

Nick - I don't think they are in cahoots. Palladian mentioned his circumstances a while back on AA, before the comments were turned off. Meade used Palladian's circumstances as an attempt to bully others into never mentioning either his or Althouse's names on Lem's blog.

The essence is "stop talking about us or I'll come over here and be an asshole again, and my assholery has no limits".

Which we already knew.

It's actually more pathological than "talking", Meade's demand is that we cannot "allude" to him or his wife.

That's a weasel word if ever there was a weasel word - he can claim someone alluded to him when he hears a dog whistle.

Lem is too stupid to see that he is being used, which, I guess, is his problem.

My problem is that I have to get some trees in the ground, some grapes pruned back, and some new software loaded.

I have allowed this crap to absorb too much of my life. Fuck them all.

@DBQ: That happened to me on Twitter: somebody already had "chickenlittle" so I made up "chickelit"

I went ahead and used Original Dust Bunny and the photo of me at age 5. I sure hope it isn't going to be the same crap carrying over to instapundits place. With people making sock puppets and stealing identities. OK....fake internet identities, but still...I've been Dust Bunny Queen for quite some time now and would be P/O'd if someone did that.

All true. I think the last thing Palladian wants is for Meade to feel even more reason to attack him or others.

This is almost becoming like a stand your ground test.

Folks, Thanks for your take. You're sharp people. I've read the exchanges over there. Not knowing or following Palladian, he was the unknown in the equation. We all agree on Meade being a grifter, weasel. I'll kick in some cash on any Palladian fund based on your assessment. To me, it's inconclusive. But, as stated previously, I don't know the background on Palladian. If it does turn out to be a scam, I've thrown away a lot of dough on horses and @ the crap table. This will pale in comparison.

@DBQ: Insty already said in a comment that he has a selective ban hammer.

Michael Haz said...

I've been sort of on-again, off-again about ignoring Meade over at Lem's, and everywhere else, for that matter. That changed when Meade attacked Palladian very publicly for what is a private business matter between them. And the attack was purposefully made in order for Meade to accomplish an objective that didn't involve Palladian.

It was evil, and evil cannot be left unchallenged

I am just trying to stay on top of the dirt.

Okay, does anybody know how much Palladian needs, and how we can get it to him? I'm good for a few bucks, but I have $30K in tuition checks to write in a few weeks, and I'm wondering how we're going to get through September without a lot of beans and rice.

But it's one thing to feel pinched paying for the appurtenances of middle-class life, and quite another not having a place to live.

TTB,

What kind of instruments do you make?

TTBurnett said...

Well, checking out Lem's, I lean that Freeman talked with Palladian "late last night," and that "he's strong" and "fine."

So, what is the reality here? Meade accuses him of being a "fraud and con artist," while others are happy to have bought his artwork in the past. He seems desperate to rescue his belongings by Aug. 6, and not to have the money to pay storage fees.

Evanizer.com is not useful. Is there any clarity here? Is he as desperate as he seems? Is there anything any of us can do?

Other people I've known in these circumstances have set up Kickstarter or other similar accounts and have had friends contribute. If Palladian is truly up against it, I'll be the first to chip in a few bucks. But if this is more sturm und drang of the Vortex without much basis in reality, well, count me out.

The Dude said...

Méditation from Thais - very nice. Very much needed by me.

And that is beautiful work, Tim.

She wrote "talked", but when asked for details modified that to "exchanged an email". I've neither talked with or exchanged emails w/ her, but I'll nevertheless say she's trying to put a happy face on the incredible ugliness that got splooged all over her blog.

I don't know the guy at all, so I have no idea if he'd be touched by offers of $ or wounded further.

There may be a clue about what's caused all the craziness Chez Meadhouse in a recent comment by Meade at Lem's:

Would it be ethically wrong for someone who is legally married to, on internet forums, flirt with others, sexually, while hiding the truth of his/her marriage?

Who may have found whose match.com profile?

That fuckin' worthless cunt Meade just went after Palladian saying that he took money for artwork that he didn't produce. The guy said he was basically homeless and all of his goods were in storage until the start of the school year when he would have some money to get situated.

That guy is the fuckin worst of the worst. He begs for money for his fuckin slatternly twat of a meal ticket but begrudges the few bucks he sent to someone who is down on their luck. What a fuckin cunt.

Meade has ventured into cock-sucking prick territory with this. His attack on Palladian like that was totally uncalled for an airing whatever dirty laundry like that on a public forum like Lem's was a low blow because he did out of his vindictiveness and petty nature. What you see is a petty little man, with a petty little mind, who does petty little shit like this to bolster his petty little ego. Then to top off his pettiness, he attacks Palladian over something like mentioning the business between Palladian and his landlord. Really, Meade? You fucking stinky cunt?

Methadras said...

But Meade pays his butt boy Lem a dollar a week! His mommy gives him a dollar to go play in traffic. He doesn't tell her that he is a bad bad boy.

Do you really think that Meade and Lem are in cahoots with each other? I find that a real stretch. No, I see no evidence of that. They are friendly to each other and I think that's where the impression might be coming from. I don't want to project on Lem. He has always been a good dude.

Words fail me.

You know, I've been LOLing at all your "Lonely Hearts Murders" posts. But seriously, at this point, I actually am somewhat concerned for Althouse's well-being.

This guy is on a mission to alienate-- repel-- make enemies out of every last person who once had any fondness for Althouse the blog

And on a mission to stoke her narcissistic insecurity, isolating her and convincing her that "yeah baby, nobody loves you but me. Everyone else, all those other people who said they liked you, they never really liked you, they're just losers and users."

Of course, it's perfectly possible that A is the driving force here, that she knows what he's doing, encourages it or even directs it, and that Meade really is "channeling" her. That prospect is just as fucked up.

Scary.

It's beyond fucked up because either scenario is quite diabological (I made that up) and insidious.

TTBurnett said...

Thanks, Sixty. We should compare notes on woodturning sometime!

What we do is a weird combination of metalworking lathe, CNC, and hand work. And, like bowls and anything else out of wood, there's a whole lot of selection and reading of the wood involved. You really can start sweating bullets, knowing you're working on a $13,000 *WOODEN* flute. Scratches and dents can be taken out of silver and gold, but checks and stress cracks, well....

Yes and no. It's the same match 3/4/5 colorful things but it gets progressively harder. Sometimes the clock is on, sometimes you're limited in the number of moves, sometimes you have to drop objects from the top to the bottom. It is to my small brain, quite addictive. But I'm pulling out of my shame spiral and I haven't made any in-app purchases in 48 hours. That's something.
