Whose that girl?

She was in a few westerns but mostly she played a teenager who had to see Marcus Welby or go to the Medical Center with herpes or something. She got every part that Kay Lenz missed out on. She must of made out with Jan Michael Vincent about a thousand times.

Whose that girl?

One of my favorites, Darleen Carr.

I first saw her in a Walton's episode titled "The Beguiled". She plays a not so nice fellow college student who takes advantage of poor ol' John Boy.

She also probes his tonsils right square in front of Momma and Grammaw...causing much consternation.

And lets not forget, she's the sister of the girl that played Lisl in The Sound of Music, and as far as I know she's still married to Jameson Parker, who was okay in Simon and Simon (Gerald McRaney was better).

Lest you forget, every damn one of those Walton men was a total horndog. Go back and watch the show. It'll shock and amaze you.

And Gerald McRaney is a hubba-hubba guy. Oh my goodness, I loved him on Designing Women as Dash Goff and Major Dad as Mac McGillis. But, oh my, he was an evil revelation as George Hurst in Deadwood.

Love me some Gerald MacRaney.

Not me it wouldn't, Ruth Anne!

One of my favorite scenes (and my mother's actually) is from the episode where Olivia's namesake gets married and after the wedding the two of them sit up in a chair all night...Olivia asks John to talk to the new husband, he says he doesn't know what to say...she says just imagine it was John Boy...he says "no son of mine is going to sit up in a chair all night...she says "no son of yours ever would"...he gets a big grin and says "why Olivia Walton..."

I'm a big fan of Mac. But not in the the hubba hubba way. I just think he's a cool guy. Loves his pipes and his cigars. And his wife. And his guns.

My mother loves The Waltons. One of her happiest days was when I gave her the complete series, including the reunion movies, on DVD. She loves it so much she never even opened it, just put it on a shelf where she can see it from her chair.

The odd is strong in that one.

Darleen also played the daughter of Lt. Mike Stone on the Streets of San Francisco.

Funny, I was looking at her and thinking she reminded me of what a young Michael Learned may have looked like. And then there's all this Walton's stuff in the comments.

And of course all the Walton men were all horndogs. Grandpa was always trying to get some from Grandma, and Pa had about 37 children. A very successful line of men, from a biological perspective, so the sons were bound to be walking, talking boners. Plus, up in the mountains, there's not much else to do besides drink and fuck. (And in later years, do other kinds of drugs.)

The Robertson Family of Duck Dynasty seem to be the current Walton family.

Ever see the Carol Burnett version of the Waltons?

Starring Carol as "John-Girl".

Never watched that show - who needs to watch communists play acting when you can watch them in real life.

I really don't like communists.

Will Geer. Don't know how accurate his Wiki entry is. Seems he was Gay, who got married and had three kids. OK. And was a CPUSA member and refused to testing before HUAC.

Suffered through the Blacklist, but then got rewarded for it by getting lots of "old guy" parts on TV and film.

Everyone in my family liked the "Waltons" I couldn't stand them. John-boy was such a dork. And it all seemed so fake, Hollywood doing country.

Geer's wiki entry is fairly accurate.

Not gay exactly though. Bi of opportunity or something like that.

I liked him as Grampaw Walton, and I really loved him as Bear Claw in one of the greatest movies ever made, Jeremiah Johnson.

He was pretty good in Winchester 73. I didn't make it through Salt of the Earth.

The Walton children were the homeliest bunch ever assembled for a television show (that wasn't a reality show). But The Homecoming is one of my favorite Christmas movies. Okay, Mary Ellen turned out hot, but the rest were ugly.

The one that played Erin was attractive.

Mary Ellen. Did you see her in Playboy? You coulda planted tomaters in that bush.

Erin did improve with age. She sort of looks like Skyler and Marie's lost sister.

She's gone a little downhill lately. She's got lupus or something.
