I don't believe in kicking somebody when they are down....

Well actually I do but in this case it will make me look bad. So I will have to pretend. There is a lot of that going around these days.

I have to laugh at the anguish over at TOP. They made their bed and now they have to lay on the grate outside the bank. They are asking for people to email them to say they are "sorry." For what?
Disagreeing with them.

The evil blogger lady was getting progressively nasty each and every day. She was particular nasty to me. I mean she posted a link that outed my real name and put my business out there. Fair enough. I know she likes to fight dirty. So do I. Spare me the histrionics and the crocodile tears. I said in the comments that she was entitled to get as mean as she wanted. She did. But other people called her on it. So she cried like a little bitch.

She was gratuitously nasty to harmless feebs like edutcher. I mean it was like she was running up and shaving off his Pete Rose haircut and stealing his special Olympic medals. Other nasty little shits like somefeller and Harrogate and that cunt Inga jumped right in. That is the real Evil Blogger Lady. A nasty piece of work through and through.

I had said that many a time. Having met her in person when she got her load on it is not a pretty site. Poor Chance the Gardner is in for it now. She will have many fewer targets to vent her spleen. He better brush up on his cunning linguist skills so he can get a new gig. I hear Meghan McCain has daddy issues so he might have a new target of opportunity.

I want to spend the weeks and months ahead on new stuff. Fun stuff. Trips. Vacations. New ventures like the great new book by Mrs. Spinelli. So I am going to try to not dwell too much on the implosion of TOP.

But tonight we can all enjoy it for what it's worth.

Heh.

Generally speaking, Troop--its best to kick someone while they are down unless, of course, you are Trayvon Martin.

In early August of '92 I had to move out of my house. Three weeks later my boss flew into town and I got laid off. It was a bad month. But I did manage to say to that slimy SOB "You're the kind of guy who kicks a man when he is down because he is that much closer to your foot."

As I say, it was a bad month, but I did manage to reply appropriately to management.

I have no idea what the point of this story is, but there you go.

I read G. Gordon Liddy's autobiography (so you don't have to...trust me) and about the only thing interesting I found in it was a comment that he made concerning some veteran FBI officers who taught him two things. First, don't pull your weapon unless you're willing to use it. Second, don't use it unless you're willing to use deadly force. When a fight turns nasty and you decide to stay in it, nasty rules the day.

With the blog dust settling a bit after a night's sleep, I sincerely hope for Althouse's and Meade's sake that they either stop blogging for a while, or dial it down to one or two posts per day. The obsessive manner of her blog is not healthy for either of them. They need to step back from it and evaluate whether it's worth the investment in time and emotion.

And while there may be a majority of readers in Madison who hold her political and social views, the nation is about equally split. Heck, even Time Magazine has apologized for having supported Obama! You'd think she could do that as well. Maybe.

So does this mean I can only post my idiocy at this prestigious site?

My very first take on TOP was this was a law professor control freak. I had heard that from attorneys in Madison but I always make up my own mind. She has absolute power and control in her classroom, and she thought that could translate to her blog. That was my first nasty exchange I had w/ her.

Trooper, thanks for your continuing support.

I think (one of) the crucial issues is jealousy of Instapundit. He is 10X more successful than she is without comments. She knows that without comments, her blog would be overrun with cobwebs. She has to drive traffic in order to save face. Curious to see if Insta invites her to (downgrade his blog) guest post in the future.

Wasn't it Trooper who predicted there would be some nonsense about "good faith" posting? They already used that phrase. Good call.

As I had said in another post, she could go private like I did and have all the great commenters she loves so much. You know the toadys and the lickspittles. But then only suscribers would have access.

See that was what was so funny about her acusation that I wanted to use her blog to "steal" commenters or something. I always wanted a small blog with a select group of people. I often said I didn't want an "Instalanche" or to have a huge following like Althouse or Ace of Spades or Protein Wisdom. So taking it small was great. The EBL ego would never allow that.

The comments will be back in a few days or weeks. Junkies have to shoot up. That is just the way it is.

Trooper York said...

Windbag is 100% right about the Instapundit thing. The last few days has show the fault lines in their relationship and every comment that touched on it was deleted. So the comments section was torched until the heat died down to mix a metaphor. It will be back up soon when the comments will be about comments and not about how the EBL was attacking Dr Helen. Watch and see.

You could say Dirty Old EBL as Ann.

And yes, Ann had the temerity to question Dr. Helen. And when comments pointed that out she freaked. How cowardly is that? Glenn and Dr. Helen have broad enough shoulders to debate a point. But Dirty Old EBL and Igor Meade are too cowardly and dumb to do that.

Hey Lem, are you moderating your comments? I just tried to post a few, hit post, and it acted like I don't even exist and my comments weren't ever made. Don't know if you're moderating or if blogger is somehow judging the worth of my posts.

Chip S. said...

The postmortem being conducted in the comments section of yesterday's TOP poll includes a link to a Reason article from way back in 2006.

It's all right there. Whatever the particular spark might've been, EBL's kindling has been insulting libertarians and conservatives for a long, long time.

This description of her behavior at a Liberty Fund conference--a pretty respectable forum for lib-con discussion--was particularly striking:

When she was backed into a corner, she lashed out, suggesting that people who disagreed with her feelings were racists. Eventually, she was so upset that she began crying. Of course, at that point the possibility of civil intellectual discourse completely evaporated.

An ego that is both huge and fragile exacts an enormous emotional toll.

P.S. Isn't Evi L. Bloggerlady "ELB" rather than "EBL"?

If they were truly concerned about the comments they could go private. What really happened was that her side was losing. Badly. And she was digging deeper and deeper. Insulting Instapundit. Men. Her commenters. They always had it in for Catholics, other people of faith and veterans but when they let the veil slip other people got clued into what they are really like.

And to your comment on the other thread regarding the Reason article. I don't think that Althouse can stand being challenged and cannot face her own inconsistencies in her thought processes. When revealed to herself, forced to look into the mirror, she had a melt down at the conference in the Reason article. When faced with her inconsistent and incoherent reasoning in the gay marriage, sexual feminism stances on parenting and literally humiliated by the laughable 'ass-crack' post, I think she just had a mental breakdown.

I have; I've also sat at the table where hot and cold versions of borderline rage was served to those too young to get up and walk away.

To watch someone whose gifts and personality I've enjoyed, depended on and respected in steadier times, lose balance and breakdown is a piteous and profoundly disturbing process, difficult to witness and difficult to work through to acceptance.

Whatever is going on with Althouse (the person and the blog) appears to me to involve loss of balance. Interestingly enough, the word "poise" which has come up several times (in the comments and Reason article) tracks back to weight and weigh [from Old French pois weight, from Latin pēnsum, from pendere to weigh] and covers the whole gambit from hippo soup to effen nuts!

Poise:

1. composure or dignity of manner
2. physical balance or assurance in movement or bearing
3. the state of being balanced or stable; equilibrium; stability
4. the position of hovering
5. suspense or indecision

windbag said...

I read an article somewhere that made the claim that Baby Boomers' greatest fear is being mediocre. Althouse is mediocre and it's driving her insane. How is she mediocre? Her embrace of relativism, which I think is perhaps the most damaging blow to our civilization.

Hippies, commies, progressives, and other demented perverts want to smoke weed, burn incense, and sing "Kum Ba Yah" while they're plastering their "COEXIST" bumper stickers on their Volvos. They've been teaching our children that everyone's truth is valid, or that there are no absolutes. Althouse is just like every other navel-gazing wino/stoner in that crowd.

Truth is--and I've said it a thousand times--liberals have no moral or logical basis upon which to base their agenda. The problem pseudo-intellects like Althouse is that they like to pretend that they have something other than juvenile emotion to justify their crap.

When Althouse shows up at a function like the one the Reason article mentioned, she gets burned. She can't hang with real intellectuals, she can't comprehend their ideas, the logic that led them to them, and the ability to allow their minds to overrule their emotions.

She's mediocre. There are millions of deluded idiots just like her and she's breaking down as the curtain is being pulled back to expose her as the homely, self-doubting, narrow-minded dunce that she is.

Yeah, but it's hilarious reading what they've come to. Reading commenter e-mails makes me think of a bunch of old fuddie duddies gathered around a fireplace hosting a weekly HAM radio show, as they come to the portion where they read from their regular listener in Dubuque, IA, and Old Fishy from Bumblefuck, IN, and, by the way, how are things in Bumblefuck? You know, me and the wife were down there a few summers ago and things were just splendid. We really do mightily appreciate your letter and hope things are well, and do make sure to stop by the next time you're in Madison.

They've turned into a fucking husband and wife Garrison Keillor show LOLOLOLOL!!!!

Meadesey thinks I don't email him because I was paid (which is pretty dumb. If I were getting paid he'd supposedly still post my emailed comment as readily as he would allow my comment to post). Anyway, I don't email him because I wouldn't trust him with a Mexican jumping bean, let alone my email address. Sorry, but I just don't think they're very trustworthy people, whatever else they are.

The comments had gotten nasty but for chrissakes, they have to live with the audience and tenor that they want to cultivate. I don't think it was Mary that she's declaring "criminal intent" on, even though she did long ago - (and I'd be tempted to do as much myself with that loon). But seems to be going on about a "former student of hers"... I'd guess FLS but that kid always seemed pretty mild-mannered.

Hilarious that she thinks crimes were committed by people getting out of line on a comments policy that was so vague as to require mind reading (was your "faith" good? WTF, how does one know that without subjecting every commenter to a polygraph before they post? She is just plain weird in some ways. Must have been the way she just went completely upstream weird with the latest controversial stand against honesty in conception (kind of odd for someone extolling "good faith" to do), and couldn't stand the backlash. I'm sorry, it was a good topic to comment on (despite her stance), and I'll miss it in the same way Freeman does (sharpening your argumentation), but seriously, what a twat.

Glad the gang is alive and kicking over here. Her biggest post post-lockdown garnered 21 "emailed" comments. How pathetic. Doesn't Meade know that he can register commenters just like Trooper can, and probably still keep it public? Those two are like the Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum of technology... minus any sense of humor. Whatever.

As for Inga, I really don't understand what her problem is. I don't hate her, and don't want to snoop into whatever she did to repel the gang here. But sometimes she gets forgetful, yammers on while something else has something worth saying, but the crime of it (for whatever I can glean) is just refusing to see or respect someone else's side when they're obviously not out to get her. Sometimes she just doesn't listen, I guess. I know I was guilty of it in spades over there, but that was the arena they wanted. When I consider someone a friend, I give them space to vent and respect that they'll feel strongly about things every now and then that I might share or be able to come around to understanding or not, while not letting it get in the way of my respect for them. You're not human unless you have a strong view every now and then and the cacklers at TOP might not be human enough to be open to challenging themselves, but you're not human if you can't let personal loyalty take precedent over a stupid disagreement if with someone if you really consider them a friend.

They weren't the problem, Lem. She just can't stand to be challenged. Total narcissist. The latter's not odd for a lawyer but the former spells the death knell of bloggery. If you want to be out in the public eye, you have to be open to being challenged, and that's just how it goes. She couldn't. Loved having a lot of commenters and comments but couldn't engage them for shit. She just had you guys all along for entertainment value. Good little puppies, was all. The emailed comments are like post-cards. And that's how she wants it. Quaint. Comfortable. Intellectually boring. And never forgetting to be ingratiating enough.

When I got a run of my comments deleted once, I just made sure to preface all the ones that came after it with things like "This is a really great blog!" "I love Althouse's point of view, but one thing that made my poor little mind feel trouble was the following..." One of the commenters called it "court jester" behavior. I loved it because it made my comments deletion-proof and sort of proved that 16th century royal ingratiation was something those queens weren't above requesting.

That is pretty much how I see it too. When forced to confront her own inconsistencies and face the illogical arguments that she was making, I think she just had a hopefully minor melt down. Unable to reason with or debate with others, she falls back to the schoolmarm...because I said so routine.

It is too bad because much of the actual charm of the blog was interacting with the comment section. I enjoy a good debate and verbal joust. I admire a good piece of performance art and masterful trolling in a blog as long as it is done with skill and aplomb and a bit of self depreciating humor. However, just hijacking a thread to make whiny complaints and personal insults (ala Inga), doesn't garner much admiration from me. Anyone can be a total asshole or giant dick on the internet. Thanks for the Chirbit, Chickie!

I actually got the idea from a scene in the Queen Elizabeth movie starring Helen Mirren. A subject who is punished for criticizing her with having his hand cut off in the royal courtyard, (with onlookers and everything!) responds by calmly but passionately, picking up the severed hand, blood still spurting from it, and declaring, "This is the hand of a loyal subject who loves his queen!"

The expression exquisitely captured by Helen Mirren's Queen Elizabeth character was shock, humiliation, self-revulsion and probably a bit of awe, but such a gesture probably would be considered not good enough for EBL.

You have to understand that half of the people who live in Madison are like Ann Althouse in terms of belief systems. The other half are further left. She is probably a 'conservative' on the law school faculty, meaning that she's a progressive in a room full of Marxists.

There is NO tolerance of free expression that goes outside of the progressive boundary line. None. Remember, this is Madison, and it is every bit as radical as Berkeley.

During the Walker recall, MFD firemen, in uniform, went to business displaying Walker signs and told them they should not expect an emergency response, should one be needed. Threats to kill Governor Walker were dismissed by the uber-liberal district attorney, while also prosecuting event the smallest offense committed by any conservative member of the state legislature.

There is one bar/restaurant, ONE, where conservatives can dine without harassment, and my friends who frequent the place have put Obama bumper stickers on their cars so the cars don't get keyed while in the parking lot.

All this is said to point out that Ann Althouse lives in a bubble, a bubble that neither encourages nor tolerates opinions that are off the reservation. Her inability to deal graciously with comments made by people who do not share her beliefs is in some measure because she seldom has to...she is isolated and has little real opportunity to deal graciously with people who aren't just like her. She hasn't had to learn that set of skills.

Strange thing in a person of such achievement, but she's in an envrionment where she is comfortable.

I doubt her blog will ever again become as political as it became before comments were sanitized. I just don't see her being comfortable going there, unless it's with a small group of commenters whose sole role is to agree.

And that's too bad. At its outset, her blog was unique, had value, and was sometimes a lot of fun.

Time passes, things change.

Well, maybe Inga does have some issues but I'll try to keep my mouth shut - although ingratiating herself to the EBL was pretty messed up. I guess she felt pretty hurt by the fallout of whatever happened over here, but when I heard about it, I kind of felt betrayed. I felt like, you guys didn't trust her in the first place, she seemed like a decent enough person for me to vouch for, you took her under her wing, and then she fucked it up. Who knows or if it was intentional (which I doubt) or she just has memory issues (which I'd feel bad about) and her issues are different from the EBL but I guess it comes down to being so stubborn and (at the same time, oddly) submissive in her personal life that she couldn't integrate it all in a meaningful way that others could trust. As I said before she freaked me out one time in the past as well, but I'll leave it at that and just let bygones be bygones. You obviously felt more betrayed by her than she did, given her self-righteousness about it all. EBL should never have been a resort for comfort or a wedge back against you. That was as stupid as it was pathetically vengeful.

Whatever. I really want to avoid going there too much but I do feel I owe you more of an explanation about whatever it was that I could see. Then again, I could be wrong... I wouldn't worry too much about it but do regret if it left you feeling like you had any egg on your face. It was as much my fault, honestly - or at least my friendship/loyalty to you makes me worry that it could have been.

The better for you and the better for them. Not sure how they'd still be able to read it, but who cares. You've got a better thing going. @Rhythm

I can't even remember why Inga was banned from here, but I do remember that it was just constant drama with her around. It took me a while to see the culprit too.

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

She's a hypocrite, Darcy.

Others mess up. Others are wrong. Others are mean.

She, by personal definition, can't be.

The personality type just doesn't get it. To consider that they might be in the wrong, or unfair, or even just slightly over-the-top, those sorts of personalities are destroyed by the mere thought. They can't handle it. I've met only a few, but it's enough to know.

Meade said something that seemed telling to me about it one night. I'll leave it at that. In the end, you just have to let them have their egomaniacal lunacy and find a nice big fantasy somewhere that they can live in. Having a bit o' money helps. Don't feed into it. Don't let her know that there are things that are better and might challenge her sense of awesomeness.

Just leave her be on her own island of the mind. She couldn't be happier. Literally.

Having to be right all the time sounds like hell.

They tend to get paranoid, as well.

If you're really interested in the likely psychology behind it, you can catch some YouTube clips by a guy named Sam Vaknin. Helped me understand. Meade challenged me on it - but it's impossible for me to see what point he could have been making by doing that.

Again, whatever. If you've not experienced IRL someone who's stuck in an emotional toddler phase, it will be hard to understand. They feel so empty that they invent an always-right "image" that doesn't leave any room (or template) for relating to, let alone understanding the tribulations of, others. Pretty messed up. It's the psychological equivalent of severely grotesque disfigurement, assuming that empathy means anything to you.

But other than when it comes to issues of reputation and jealousy, they can be made largely harmless. Unlike sociopaths, they still have a conscience - because without other people around who haven't been killed off then where would they get the adulation they so needily crave?

There's no cure. Except shunning. Even Kanye West...

@ Darcy and Ritmo

It is the Queen Bee syndrome. You see it all the time in girls in Junior High and High School and in some not well adjusted grown women. They manipulate the men, who generally are not aware of the subterranean motives. The Queen has a clique of hangers on who revolve around the Queen. The mode of operation is to gang up on those who have been selected for ostracizing, humiliation and to pit people against each other. It is all about power and ego feeding. In Inga's case she tried to do this with MamaM claiming that MamaM was 'picking on her' and doing her woe is me routine. The goal is to get the hangers on to ride to her rescue and validate the Queen Bee's existence. She tried it with me over at TOP, but I wasn't playing that game.

When she (Inga) got called on it here and was banned she began the game all over again at TOP and decided that edutcher would be the goat after Althouse, the actual Queen Bee there picked ed out as a target Very unprofessional of Althouse. Since Inga couldn't be the Queen, she settled for sycophant and chief suck up and is still at it in the Poll comments.

The whole dynamic is extremely sick.

They posted a link to the TLC website that listed my real name and the name of the store to mock me because the TLC publicist wrote "her" instead of "his" so that made me a beta male or something. Kind of cheap shot as a cursory reader won't dig so deep to find out who I am in real life.

What is funny is that twat Inga is railing and railing over there about someone posting her name and photo on the site and Meade did it to me! I expect as much from them.

Darcy said...

And DBQ, you've filled in a mystery for me. I didn't know why Althouse turned on edutcher so hard.

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

Inga was/probably is borderline. Or histrionic - (which is a diagnosis that I wonder if it really exists). The sexual nonsense and the come-ons are the first clue. The fact that she married a narcissist is another. The fact that she didn't know if she was being manipulative, a third. And then there were personal communications... I won't get into that.

Bottom line, too dramatic to achieve a stable and integrated understanding of self. I'm sure she's not the worst case. Not by a long shot. But did her damage and now has trouble understanding why. That's typical.

Men don't see it because we figure the passion and fun is just that, and it's a welcome change from too much boring. But every now and then you need a little boring. Or just some willingness to not go off the rails.

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

Any BS she could or would want to pull is worth it just for that line.

Yeah, when Althouse hooked up with Meade, I thought the quality of her blog lost something.

Everyone needs grace and forgiveness at some point, most certainly including me.

Certainly this applies to me in extremis, but I also believe that forgiveness must be sought before it's granted. Ann Althouse's fundamental problem is that she's incapable of doing that.

it's true that she's spent her professional life in a lefty echo chamber, but I don't give her a pass for that the way I would for, say, garage. She's an academic, and is supposed to think for herself.

Yeah, I know that most of them don't, but the great ones do. The giant who comes to mind immediately is Robert Nozick, Harvard philosophy professor and titan of libertarian thought. He didn't get any of that from his environment, but instead made Harvard the center of moral philosophy in the late 20th century thru his collegial debates w/ John Rawls. That's the way first-rate intellects engage others. For another example, watch any youtube video of Milton Friedman explaining his views to people who think he's nuts.

To make a more contemporary reference, look at the blog run by Becker and Posner. Posner's been thru a lot of intellectual phases, most recently proclaiming himself some sort of Keynesian. I think he's mistaken--and I've left a comment or two on his blog that rivals in vigor anything I ever said to Althouse--but I respect him for thinking things thru honestly and putting his views out there for criticism.

Living in Madison isn't an excuse for a closed, petulant mind, IMO.

Chip -

It's fascinating that Reason wrote so much about their experience with her.

Not to get too political here, but reading that left me feeling sad that she came across as that much of a lightweight (I'm not surprised, but still...) In any event, luckily I had my own pre-shock psychological antidote in the form of a bunch of Martha Nussbaum videos I occupied myself with last night. She's probably more liberal than libertarian, but sharp and knowledgeable and original enough to be challenging - or at least respectable. In any case, a blonde as well, so that Reason's image doesn't have to leave a bad taste in my mouth re: blonde female political observers.

In another case, she has some ideas that seem to touch on the libertarian-liberal split that's grown up over the last however many hundred years which might be worth exploring. It seems to be embedded in a philosophical diversion between Aristotelian flourishing (which could probably garner for liberals a support from conservatives that libertarians would eschew) and the naturally libertarian state of nature advocated by the post-enlightenment philosophers - which has now become somewhat normative.

Nussbaum probably does a decent job explaining what she finds to be flaws in the post-enlightenment state of nature format, that a return to Aristotelian flourishing might correct (or modify, to put it more courteously), but I'll leave that to you to debate or not.

I hope that was more philosophical than political, as we don't need to go there too stridently on Trooper's. But I found it an interesting diversion from too much involvement in the recent episode of psycho-drama and figured you might find something in it as well.

In particular, the video where she's walking Lake Shore Drive - but any one of them might possibly be interesting to you and/or probably worth watching.

Cheers -

I'm not interested in her capability for forgiveness. I'm interested in mine, and forgiveness probably isn't the right word to use. Grace is the better word.

Put another way, enough is enough. By piling on any more, a person can become as bad as that thing the person criticizes. Let go of it and move along.

As always, your mileage may vary. Professional drivers on a closed course. See pamphlet for possible side effects.

I wish that others (such as Methadras) could learn to ignore her. She would shrivel up and go away. They are giving her the attention she so desperately craves and so are ensuring that she continues to come around being a nuisance for everyone.

Michael's right. And it illustrates my earlier hesitation in this thread. Going into the psychology of it becomes scary after a while because it can become a way of distancing, and that's not humanizing. Ultimately changing the subject at points is important. I can't hate Althouse because I don't know her - but she is a person, as sick as that person is - which is easy to forget. It comes back to a rule I came up with for myself in my mid-twenties: If you're talking about someone else, either do it because it's so damn, distractingly funny that the sheer humor outweighs any sense of ridicule, or else admit that you just don't have anything interesting to say about yourself.

Or just sum it up and go with being gracious. That's just as well and more mature anyway. Thanks for reminding us, Haz.

Yes and No. Michael is right in that it is not for me or anyone else to pile onto a person or as Trooper says, kick them when they are down. I don't believe that I'm doing that. I'm not doing a happy dance because Althouse is having some sort of issues. In fact, I'm rather sad in the way that MamaM expressed by being a witness to a rather slow melt down of a person that you have had respect for.

But, analytical is what I do and for me is a way to understand what is happening. I may be wrong come to the wrong conclusions, but examining the situation for me gives me a better understanding and acceptance of what is happening and why it is happening. To understand the dynamics of the personal interactions and even the sickness behind some of those actions of other people doesn't de humanize. It actually makes them more human. If you understand what drives a person "like" Inga, you can not be emotionally involved and understanding. It also helps to recognize who to avoid in your life.

All people, myself included, are frail and have foibles that can be annoying, can be destructive or can just be quirky. I use the analysis on myself and try to recognize what those things are and why I do them. Recognize, and hopefully try to correct my failings or live with it. I can't correct anyone else's but I can at least try to fix mine.

Know thyself.

Agree with this. Or really moreso the way DBQ put it.

I think all the "testing" I did allowed me to understand on an intuitive level what TOP was about - (or as some have said, what it became). If I'd been in a position to have felt more than that, maybe I'd be going through what MamaM is. I don't begrudge her that at all. I know what it's like to get attached to something that ends up being empty. It's easier to feel sorrow, though, when that source understands their own emptiness.

Me, I guess I was too busy being the spoiled brat of a dysfunctional (surrogate) "parent" - (or at least someone who put herself in the position of acting like one) - to have felt all that bad about the train wreck that I always knew was coming. And who even knows if it is a train wreck? If she doesn't see it that way, then the proverbial bottom couldn't have been hit. You can't snap back if you deny the existence of a bottom for you to hit in the first place.

To change the subject entirely, it's good to see Crack here!

Michael Haz said...

Why is it always a train wreck? That seems...well...trainist. Can't people have some other kind or a wreck? I mean, I like trains and all, and even liked to stage train wrecks with my Lionel setup eons ago. But that wasn't really serious adult stuff like people talk about now.

Plane wreck? I dunno, doesn't sound right. Car wreck? Too small, no big steam boilers blowing up. Tractor wreck? Demolition derby? Nah, that's deliberate; a wreck has to be mostly accidental. Hindenburg...maybe. Big effing Hindenburg of a wreck sounds like it could work.
