"One of us.....Gobble Gobble!'

I just want to thank all of youse guys who comment here. I am very humble and grateful for all of you who participate here. Commenting or lurking you are a class act.

I must admit that I have to laugh that every other comment at a couple of prestigious blogs is made by an out and out lunatic. Every other comment on the Evil Blogger Ladies joint is by the racially insane Crack Emcee and every other comment on Turley's blog is by the execrable Inga in one of her many guises. It is pretty freaking funny.

The new store has kept me really, really busy and I  haven't been able to keep up the posts the way I would like to the last few weeks. We are doing a big photo shoot on Monday to put all of our stuff on our new website and another e-commerce site that we have signed up with to promote our stuff. So we have been going non-stop. So much so that we are now opened six days a week with only one day off to get everything done. It is hard because we get exhausted. We are both sick and not as strong as we used to be so at times we drag ass. When we get home I am just not up to posting and being creative. So I just have to hit it when I can.

Thank you for your patience but most of all thank you for your participation.

You are one of us. Gobble, Gobble.

The state of blogging these days

I have been pretty tired the last couple of days so I haven't been following some of the more extraneous blogs these days so I don't know what was going on. I didn't even have the strength too watch the Giants game and doncha know the fucks go off and win a fucking game.

I have been trying to go out and walk and get back in the game and after coming back and eating I am pretty tired so I take a nap or go back to bed when I used to post or surf the Internet.

Anyway today I was feeling better and started looking around. I got a heads up when youse guys said that the Evil Blogger Lady's best girlfriends Inga, Freeman and Lem were posting up a storm to drive traffic her way. Then I saw the new legal blog rankings and I had to wonder. Is it true? Or do the numbers not reflect what is happening there. I think Michael Haz said that TOP is now a lifeless place. It seems to me that Inga has become the dominant voice and ignoring them has shown the right results. It is dying on the vine. Soon it will be just a vanity blog.

Speaking of vanity blogs I also went to visit our friend Crack who is crying the blues these days. Interestingly Leisure Suit Larry is making appearances bragging how he is sending money to crack. The funniest thing is that is insinuating that Cody and Sixty and I are the same person. He has done this before as though he couldn't believe that more than one person couldn't like him. It is pretty funny that the sock puppet king is always calling other people out as sock puppets. Just fucking amazing.

All of this is amusing in a passing interest kind of way. I have other things to worry about so I am not sweating it when before I would jump right in and mix it up. I am just trying to get healthy and throw out a blog post here and there and an occasional comment. I fall asleep at the TV and sometimes Fox is on and I wake up to the news and get all in an uproar. I need to stick to Munster reruns.

Suffice it to say that Leisure Suit Larry and the Ladies of TOP deserve each other and I hope they make a big sweaty pile and enjoy themselves.

"We happy few"

And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he today that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap while any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day

Mama M's Excellent Adventure

 MamaM said.......

Where is MaMAS

If you're inquiring as to MamaM's whereabouts, she was stuck in traffic and finally made it out!

If windbag is around, he deserves a big "thank you!" for a good recommendation leading to a beautiful and memorable adventure.

We drove to Cade's Cove last Saturday after class and arrived in time to see the mountains turn deep purple and orange in the last rays of the setting sun. Since the weather was warm enough to have the windows open, the sounds and scents in the evening air added to the experience. The animals were grazing and crossing the road, with only three other cars sharing the space with us. As we came up on the first turn-off/short cut to the exit (two miles in), we were having such a lovely and peaceful time, we decided to keep going in the belief we could drive the rest of loop (9 more miles) before nightfall. What we didn't know was that we'd be joining a seemingly endless line of stopped cars around the next bend and would spend the next hour inching along as dusk turned to complete and total darkness. Except for the tail lights ahead the darkness was so deep and enveloping, we were surprised, sensing what night in the Cove may have been like prior to the advent of electricity and motor vehicles. When the second short cut came up, we took it, with about half the crowd ahead doing the same while the rest drove on to complete the loop. What everyone was doing or looking in the darkness remains a mystery. Driving out of the park and back to Townsend on a narrow winding road with no shoulder was another experience and we were glad to return to town and finish the adventure with a dinner of southern "comfort food" at the Firefly Cafe.

All in all, it was a trip worth taking, fitting my idea of "fab".

Thanks again, windbag for the mention.

Next up: Brussel Sprouts!

I like it when we all get along! It is so much nicer than when Allie Oop was here and all we used to do is have her tell us to go to hell. Just sayn'

I get comments.....well somettimes I get comments

MamaM said...
Looking through the archives, in search of bird song, I was surprised to come across a post a year ago on the Algonquin I hadn't seen before, even though I was reading TY at the time.

It was interesting to note that the average post a year ago garnered 5-10 comments, quite a few with no comment, and the large ones mostly under 100 with 40-80 tops. An evolving blog, a dynamic community, with some things staying the same. Betty Rubble goes way back and appears to have been publicly pleasuring herself for a long time!

It's a funny thing about blogging. You never know what is going to bring you comments. Or how many they will bring. I do notice that the more threads I post the fewer comments per posting. If I leave something up for a couple of days the comment number goes up. But if I am very prolific most of the threads get one or two comments.

Ever since the show started filming in February I have been really, really busy. Not just with the filming and the promotion but the aftermath with the increased sales which are really great. So I didn't have much time to be creative like I used to be. I couldn't do long "Laura Bush's Diary" posts or more creative stuff like Inspector Lestrade and the "Case of the Disappearing Douchebag." Plus since Spinelli is always commenting nobody would believe that the douchebag disappeared cause they would just point at him and go "There he is!"

The strange thing is the number of comments is often much less on the longer more creative posts. People read them I guess and enjoy them but they don't have much to say about them. The little ones can get more comments if the photo is weird or funny or stupid. That can trump even the most creative and funny post. So it's funny. You just throw it out there to hit the wall to see if it sticks.

I miss some of my favorite series. "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend" "Tales of Amy's Garden" "The Tao of Poo" "Buddy Clinton Died for Your Sins" and of course my personal favorite "Tyler Perry's White House of Pain." Some of the other series are a lot easier because they lend themselves to a shorter post. "Marilyn's Diary" and "The Summer of Boo Boo" are like that because it can be a quick hit which is why there are so many more of them. Those are more often about the photo than the story. "Commentor Memories" is also photo driven and a lot easier to pump out.  "Laura Bush's Diary" takes a lot more thought and is a lot harder to dash off even though I often have ideas that I would love to use.  But it just doesn't get done as much.

But do you know what posts get the most hits and are the most popular?

Camel toe posts.

Go figure.

Attention, Attention....New Comment Policy

It has come to my attention due to some emails of postings on other parts of the intertubes that some bloggers are wishing that they could charge for the privilege of commenting. It seems that it is not enough that they can censor and delete your comments and control what you have to say but they would be happy to charge you for the privilege of commenting on their blog.

You know that sounds like a good idea.

So I am going to do the same.

From now on it will cost you one beer to make a comment on the Trooper York blog. It doesn't matter what kind. Of course the short pity ones by AllenS would be charged a PBR or a Gennesse Cream Ale while the longer opus of Tim or Ritmo would require an imported or micro brew. Oh and no Heineken. That shit tastes like Wolverine piss. Or Corona which is about 60% Mexican piss.

Since I will not be able to collect them from you there is only one solution. You should drink the beer yourself. So for every comment you make here you should have yourself a cold one.

Since it doesn't cost anything to run this website why would I want to charge you for it. I would have to be a stupid greedy cunt to do something like that.

Oh.

Nevermind.

(PS with this new policy of getting a beer for every comment I expect to hear a lot more from AllenS and Sixty)

Commenter Memories Number 94- Palladian and hd finally meet.

They are both "Game of Thrones" reenactors.

It's great when people of different political opinions can get together and enjoy something together.
