Houston we have a problem!

ricpic said...
All the threads at EBL stop at about 1:30 Central Time. So I just posted my brilliant trenchcoat comment to see if it's a blogger-wide problem. But apparently not. Only over at EBL. Strange.
Well there appears to be a problem at the evil blogger lady's site again. No comments are allowed. Unless she is blocking them. Hee.
Welcome to all you refugee's who need to spout off nonsense. Our pop stand is open for business.

Boringheads sucks donkey dick. Just sayn'

So the blogger lady has a post about boringheads where they offer to pay to keep her from being part of their site. I mean why would you want to be part of the mess that those pompous douchenozzles run over there? You can say a lot of stuff about the evil blogger lady but one thing is for sure. She believes in the first amendment and does not censor or delete or ban people because of what they have to say about anything. I really admire that and try to follow her example. That is why so many diverse viewpoints are welcome her at Trooper York.
Of course we mainly talk about tits and sandwiches but hey it's the policy that counts.

Commentor Memories Number 55 Deborah at the Beach!

Deborah emailed me this photo from when she traveled to the Ivory Coast to see about adopting a baby. You see she takes Madonna as a role model. And as a diet coach. Just sayn'

New friends!

I went over to the Ace of Spades site for the first time in a long time and I must say that I was a little disconcerted. I hadn't been there in a while and I didn't get the vibe.
And the other place had several strange people show up. It's weird. You know like when you go to your favorite bar and bunch of people you don't know are there taking over and you wonder what the hell is going on.
That always happens this time of year. You know you go to your favorite pub but it is full of new people out celebrating the holiday. It gives the joint a very different vibe. Not bad or good just different.

God bless the child.

I was brought to this photo on Drudge by a post on the evil blogger lady's site. But I was stuck by how happy it was.
Trig looks like he is having fun. Like he is loved.
Today's Gospel made me think. In it the Pharisee and the tax collector were compared and the judgement was that the exalted would be humbled and the humble would be exalted.
I think we all could be a lot more humble.

Commenter Memories number 43

Hey I might be back posting more often but you have to remember one of the key rules of this blog.
NO POLITICS!!!!!!!!!!!
So when Titus emailed me this photo of his uncle in the Navy I had to tell him I am not going to have a thread about Don't Ask Don't Tell.
You need to go to the evil blogger lady for that.

Say let's stay on Topic please!

Listen, I don't want a 300 post thread about gay marriage.
Other peoples marriages are just not that interesting. Or fun. Or something you should stick your nose in.
I just think that people who worry so much about what other people do in their marriage and have such a big problem with the Mo's have something else going on. (I'm looking at you Chief Bald Eagle). Live and let live is what I say.
I mean look at these two broads. Who would want to stick their nose into them I ask you?

I just don't like some of those commenters!

There was a lot of nasty people and nasty talk at the evil blogger ladies place today. It was all about the juice box mafia and Jounolist and Jewish people. From the tenor of some of these remarks I think some of these people have never met a Jewish person in their life. It was very nasty and un-called for.
Maybe Theo is right and I should just post boring stuff like he does. (he said that not me).
But it does leave a bad taste sometimes. Just sayn'

Commenter Memories Number 26

Hey even the blogger lady wants to get into the act. She sent me this x-rated shot. It's the first time she ever exposed her beaver.
And on a bike no less.
Freaky.
Sometimes we can get lost.

Sometimes you can get lost in the woods when you post comments on the Internet. You get caught up in the back and forth and the joy of argument and scoring points and you loose sight of the fact that you are arguing with an actual person. It's great to score a point or prove someone wrong but what does it really matter? It's unlikely that you are going to change anybodies mind or even get them to think at all. Pretty much everyone who is involved enough in an issue to post on the net is just someone who is set in his position and will never change.
You can get carried away and start saying things and taking positions that you don't even really mean. You start to freak out and it is not attractive at all. I know myself that I can take it too far so I have made a conscious effort to dial it back a lot and not be so personal. I mean I love to bust balls but not in a really mean way. Cause if you think some of the shit I write is really mean, well you have no idea.
Sometimes it doesn't hurt to be the first one to dial it back. I tell my wife all the time when she has a beef with someone that it is not a contest. Or more correctly it's like a ballgame. I mean at any one inning one team might be ahead but you can get up and win in a walk off. At the end of the game you still win. Because the other guy is just a dick. Don't sweat it.
Go in the backyard with a beer and a cigar and put the game on the radio. It's summertime and the living is easy. Just sayn'

Garage Mahals Road Kill Korner

Garage Mahal said on the evil blogger lady's site....
Eh, no. Not even close, jackass, by my own admission. I neither poached, or ate it, or ever mentioned I did. It's starting to make sense though - you guys either can't read, or you just read what you want to read.
Now you know that is not true Garage. Why did you send me this snapshot and your recipe for poached possum?
By the way, I think you went too heavy on the cumin.

Sometimes a commenter can go over the top you know what I mean?

This NewHussienHam guy is kind of over the top. I mean nobody is that tough.
You know occasionally skells wander into the store and I have to get into their face. Especially around the Holidays. Last year there were these two dudes who wandered in and I was in the back room. So I come bursting out and the one talky dude goes "Oh there is a man in the ladies store." Him I wasn't worried about. But his partner was quiet. I got right up in his face because he had his hands in his pockets. I wanted to be able to grab him if he came out with something. You have to watch the quiet ones. Not the big mouths.
